- I recently purchased a Saber Forge Acolyte Champion Tier 12W Red with Crimson Soundfont on Etsy. Ordered on 30th January 2015 and arrived on 2nd March 2015.

It is even more so perfect for spinning with an Ultrasabers Midgrade blade as the Saber Forge V4 is too heavy. Balance point is way above the emitter. I'd recommend getting an Ultrasabers blade and replace the V4 Infinity Edge Blade. Happy spinning!

There are no mirrors and stuff in the tube to make it look cooler and to make it seen sort of wider at the bottom.

So ive heard saberforges current v4 infinity edges have the mirror with the hole in it, at the tip, which is the best option ever, is that the case now? maybe they realized the issue and added it to the v4's ?

Have you tried the Ultrasabers Ultraedge mid-grade blade on the 12W Saberforge? I'm wondering what is the best combination to get the most "realistic" look for a 12W hilt.
I haven't. Waiting for my Ultrasabers parcel to arrive probably by tomorrow. In that I have a Midgrade and an UltraEdge Midgrade. Will definitely swap around to see which suits the best. Stay tuned for my review :-)
why not just get another blade like the one from your ultra sabers lightsaber and put it on the acolyte champion hilt? clearly the v4 infinity edge blade has problems with even light distribution due to the lack of a mirror.

It's not an Etsy exclusive. That flicker comes with all Champion Tier sabers and is adjustable.

I ordered this in December 2014 on Etsy. it took them 2 weeks to build and shipping took 2 weeks to reach me. however, with the number of orders now that episode VII is just around the corner, you're looking at 4-5 weeks of build time due to their backlog orders.

do you need to ask for the sound effects when placing the order or does it automatically come with the sound effects?
If you choose their Champion or Hero Tier, it will have sound.
Do you have to pay extra to get the feature that allows you to modify the light intensity and sound level or does that come with the saber.
iCandycorn You basically have to opt for the Champion Tier (Of course it costs more) and you will have the features of changing the optical frequency.

is it better to go with the champion and get a 12w or go with the hero and sacrifice the 12w for 6w but still have more color and sound options? is 6w really that bad?
+FlyingAce1016 You can still opt for a 3-colour hero tier, which means your first two colours are 6W and the third is a 12W, as a result of a combination of the first two. Only drawback is that your hero tier would have only 3 colours instead of all the possible combinations. I'd say go for the hero with 3-colour option.

+Faris Tan If/when you are able to, see if you can upgrade to their 12 watt + led. The new one is 30% brighter and the focusing lens is way more improved (straighter more focused beam). I have seen the differences on a couple of a friends sabers and the comparison is insanely good.

They're warrantied for full speed, full contact dueling. Go to saberforge.com and configure one yourself! He has a Champion Edition, so make sure if you want sound, get the Champion Edition of any saber on their site

is it random, or by which color you choose? it make sense red is sith, and crimson is for darkside hahaha is it an option at etsy?
Hi Arif. Yes on Etsy it is an option. As for the soundfont, just type in the order comments that you want a crimson soundfont instead of their Viridium soundfont.

***** yes they provide the tracking number. However, when you purchase from Etsy, they need about two weeks to build your saber (even though they already provide the tracking number). They ship via USPS.

The 12W upgrade is FREE if you buy on Etsy. It gets quite hot after a while but you'll be happy with the brightness (use an Ultrasabers blade instead of the Saber Forge V4 Infinity Edge Blade). Their batteries are rechargeable.

You check the site and think “wow 150 bucks is not that bad for a dueling saber.” Then you start to customize and if you want sounds for your saber (who doesn’t) it’s an added 250 bucks. So if you want a decent one with sound it’ll cost you around 500 bucks with shipping, taxes, etc.
They aren’t cheap. Between $400 and $1k

+Tyler Evans No offense to them, but the ultrasabers look a little...CHEAP...even for the $150 ones. I like the SaberForge onese :-)
Ultrasabers are way cheaper though, their lowest hilt WITH LEDS is 20 dollars cheaper than saberforge without LEDS. Also, Vaders Vault Shits all over them. The lowest prices VV has more sound features (They only sell ones with sound for 300 and up) than the highest speced out saberforge. And their top of the line sabers costing thousands make saberforge and ultrasabers look wimpy. Think like a mustang vs a lambo. The mustang is a decent sports car compared to a lambo but it is pathetically outmatched.
The point of balance should be further forward on a cut oriented one hander (like a real sabre). This makes it roll, which is what allows you to maintain the momentum of the weapon. Of course, canonically the blade would be weightless, but speaking as someone who practices European martial arts and spars with steel, I'd much prefer a sparring weapon like this (heavy, sturdy, with a PoB a few inches from the guard).

+acicon Yes. The V4 blade comes with EVERY purchase of Saber Forge Lightsabers EXCEPT for the INITIATE TIER - that only includes the hilt which is an empty. Does NOT have electronics or blade installed.

I love my old country Malaysia. I have been in America since 1998 and mostly everyone with cool Sabers are there and Singapore. Working on getting my 2nd UltraSaber
Don't forget saberforge has a 1 year warranty and i haven't heard about that from ultrsabers. If you want to hit eachother with the saberforge they will fix your broken saber under a year. Not with ultrsabers though.
From the demo in the Saber forge vid I'd use the Mid-grade blade for show (Better lighting feature) & light demos & the V4 for hard combat - as that's what it's designed for & is stronger than the others at full contact. (The others dented & broke against the V4.) Also it may be possible to put a bit of reflective material in the tip of the V4 to increase light capability & even it out. As for the weight imbalance - you could probably put a couple of fixtures inside the pommel & click in a small steel rod to balance it out. As a steel swordsman I've had to increase pommel weight re unbalanced swords on occasion. Lead works as well but this looks like a steel job. Just a thought. Cheers for sharing. Have fun & enjoy.

The ultrasaber lighting is more even, but the saberforge saber sound is ten times better from what I'm seeing in this video.

Hello, great review! I've read in the video description you have ordered the saber 30th January and it arrived 2nd March the last year. I wanna ask you if you know how long it takes now to get the order made and shipped or if you have had some problem with saber forge, because I ordered my 2 sabers on 27th January and I don't know anything about them. I've mailed saberforge and they told me didn't told me anything and said me not to be worried , but I am considering that when I get my order done the time lapse was of 6-8 weeks (now it's 8-10 weeks) + 10 days for shipping and this week is the 11th. Moreover I'm not from the USA, I'm in Spain and this distance doesn't help. In my orders' info my sabers are "confirmed". Could you tell me if this change when they ship it or if saberforge notify when they ship the product? Thanks so much, it's the first time I order something there and it's a little irritating knowing absolutely nothing, I don't know who I could ask yet... :/

That's an interesting review. It's funny, though, because when you put those two swords side by side the Bellecose (sp?) really looks more like a toy compared to the Acolyte. The blade thing is an interesting point as that might be somewhat subjective depending on how you intend to use the saber. For me, I use my sabers in heavy dueling and I found that the ultrasabers blades would frequently lose their tips and even cracked in one situation whereas I've never had that problem with the V3 or the V4 from saberforge. I would agree with you about the lighting differences between the two and if I were mostly going to be using the blade for show or light choreography then I'd go with the ultrasabers blade. The good thing about both is that blades are cheap (comparatively) so you can get several from both and even other types to try out from other companies.
Yup. For heavy duelling, the V4 does the job well. It's the same thickness as the Ultrasabers heavy grade - the only difference being the threaded tip. However, I don't do heavy duelling so the Midgrade is fine for me on any occasion.

Saber Forge isn't affiliated with Lucus/Disney. Legally they can't recreate any of the movie/game/book sabers. If you're gonna pull the trigger I say make your own. You'll have a special saber that no one else might have!

I ordered this recently and I was just wondering is there any wobble on the blade? and how bright is it during daytime, is it orageish color or consistent red?
Yes there is some wobble on the blade as Saber Forge blade chambers are pretty shallow so the retention screw bites in just about half and inch from the bottom of the blade - resulting in an unstable retention. It actually cracked mine after several hard impacts.
Regarding the brightness and colour, it's really red. Orange appearance is usually only seen through the camera.

apprentice blades are the cheapest, and youd have to buy a tier 3 saber for it to make sounds and there ia an extra charge for the 12w
