    This is an amazing descriptive video that gives a lot of points and aspects of the system that other videos do not

    In all the years working in HVAC, I never heard anyone call an air handler a "cooling furnace"..also love you how explain things tho, break it down pretty well.

    what's the purpose of the solenoid valve, thank you

      @MEPAcademy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are many uses of a solenoid valve. Here are a few.
      During Normal Operation: The solenoid valve opens to allow refrigerant to flow to the evaporator coil, where it absorbs heat from the indoor air.
      During Off Cycles: When the air conditioner cycles off, the solenoid valve closes to prevent refrigerant from continuing to flow, which helps maintain system pressure and efficiency.
      During Defrost Mode (Heat Pump): The solenoid valve changes the direction of refrigerant flow to help remove ice from the outdoor coil.
      Refrigerant Pump Down. Zone Control.

    Do you need to duct mini splits? Referring to your final frame showing a ducted mini split

      No. A lot of mini-splits are non-ducted with wall mounted cassettes. We will be making a video on Mini-Splits sometime in the future.

    Thank you for this explanation
    Please I am a bit confused with the categorizing of decentralized systems mentioned in Ashrae system book chapter2
    Actually, it is not clear the difference between them, for example, the multiple unit systems and light commercial split systems.
    Also for the VRF systems, I did not understand where they fall, under which category multiple or commercial light ?
    Do you have a simple explanation for these systems or to suggest me a textbook to understand them more?
    Thanks

      Just think of decentralized systems as all types of HVAC equipment except central plants or buildings housing the main source for heating or cooling. Centralized systems can include chillers and boilers housed in a separate building or area from which it serves all the spaces or multiple buildings as in a University Campus. Decentralized systems are common in smaller buildings. The use of VRF can also be considered decentralized as the refrigerant is distributed throughout the facility with various Outdoor Units scattered around the building or multiple buildings.
