This is so great. I made an older looking Halloween figure for my son, as he collects. While I used a toilet paper roll for the body, it still came out great and really looked like an older piece. He didn’t like it and preferred the real deal

Monica, I didn't know you had the 'creepy' in ya! I'm so used to your cutie-pie faces! But yes, I've found that the crayola clay cracks too and when you covered it with plastic, I thought hey ,that's the solution! But nooo! It does add character tho, I make houses and one of my first ones was an old European cottage style where I used crayola clay, luckily the cracks added so much more detail to it! Anyway, love your banners and paperwork and of course all that you create!

I have found that painting the foam ball with a mixture of modge lodge and paint helps. I absolutely love him, he’s spooky 👻 vintage. If you apply a matt poly spray it will help. He is freaking adorable. Hugs

Once again very cool and with many good tips. So did I understand correctly that when the clay is drying it should be placed in an open plastic bag? And to store the clay and/or the item you're working on but need to stop should be kept in a sealed plastic bag. When making the pleated circles would those little white pleated paper cups they have at many fast food restaurants to put extra Ketchup, mustard work? They can be unleaded and flattened. Take care.
Hiya, Leslie! Yes, when working with air dry clay like Crayola or Creative Paper Clay, if you place a loose plastic bag over it, it will dry slower & should crack less. You could probably use condiment cups, cupcake liners or even coffee filters, if you like.
Totally awesome work! Loved it. Must say that it's face was looking like a cross between a pig & an owl. It made it look creepy. Don't think you intended that look, but that's what I saw. Still, your work is amazing.🐷🦉😁
Hiya, Bettyanne! Thanks so much! I loosel cover my air dry clay with a plastic bag. The clay still cracks, but not as badly. Usually, if the cracking is excessive, I'll fill them in with small amounts of clay. That helps a bit. My clay only seems to crack, if it's covering styrofoam. A friendly FYI...The air dry crayola clay tends to crack when you cover something unless you make it thicker which means more drying time.
