I lived in Plano when I first moved to Dallas 5 years ago and loved it. The only con I had was the traffic but if you are looking for homes with mature trees and quiet neighborhoods, Plano is the best! I work in Plano so the convenience for work is definitely a plus.

For anyone considering Plano, the main thing about prices is you pay more for safer neighborhood not just new or old.

I visited the North Dallas area with my wife and 3 year old daughter last October. We stayed at an Air B&B in Plano. I would like to point out how quiet our neighborhood was and how Plano really does give you the city aspect and also the quiet neighborhood feel to it as well. Only saw one homeless person our entire stay. That’s a big deal to us who come from California where the Homeless issue is out of control. Plano was great and is bigger than you think once you’re actually there. Plano is definitely a great place to check out for those interested. For my family I think we’re leaning more to the smaller suburbs like Prosper, McKinney, Celina. Hope this helps!

Prosper isn’t really a small suburb, it is slowly expanding since its so close to Frisco and people are starting to move there. A better area to consider besides Celina is Melissa and Anna. They will give you the small town feel you are looking for. Prosper and McKinney is not it lol!

@@noeeortiz9073It will be years before that happens. Especially in Melissa where its so rural. So many people are moving further north so its bound to happen but it will be awhile.
I hear they're about to remodel the shops at willow bend.
They are doing a whole new expansion!
Every older home I’ve looked at in Plano has foundation repair.
