Same! It would be 4 for me at the top if they actually showed more of the tournament to actually show how the magic system works and so forth! Especially the maze sphinx stuff
@@John_E_Dunn they had enough time by the time the fourth movie came along to realize what a goldmine they had during the golden years of gaming and film and culture… it’d have been so epic as it was what kicked off the most serious and intriguing tons for the film series. Still loved it though.

"Uh oh, they got a bad timing belt. That sounds like the alternator, actually." You guys are hilarious! These first two are the best ones, I think. This was the first of the books I read.
The actor that plays Lucius Malfoy (Jason Issacs) is really good at villains. He was in another movie you reviewed a while ago - The Patriot. He was the evil Col. Tavington, who killed Heath Ledger and was ultimately killed by Mel Gibson's character.
Fun Fact: Ron Neville and Draco are distant relatives as Dracos mother comes from the same family Rons grandmother comes from but was disowned and another member of that family married into the Longbottoms
I applaud you on the attempt with the guess of a Medusa type beast. Medusa was a lady turned into a Gorgon. A Gorgon is a humanoid beast with hair made of snakes of Greek origin. Sometimes they are depicted with snake like bodies too. They also petrify their victims through eye contact. This was a Basilisk. A Basilisk is normally considered like a giant snake these days. It was originally seen as not being very big but left signs of its venom where ever it went. Its said the basilisk was based off of a king cobra not only because of it being considered the king of snakes and its seriously dangerous venum but because in the myths backstory it was repelled by a weasels scent. With the King Cobra and the Mongooses rivarly it doesnt suprise me that people think this to be the case. The Mongoose comes from the same family as a Weasle. The trail of toxicity it left behind in myth was likely all the people being bitten by King Cobras and dying. Many myths are based upon actual events or creatures. They are just over exaggerated. The Basilisk has been used in many different forms of literature over the years including the Bible.
Just remember the movies grow up with the characters… so the first 2 feel more like children’s films… but the content ages with Harry and his friends. The 3rd is my favorite ❤️
Wands in the wizarding world have their own unique properties and characteristics that are determined by the type of wood and core used to make them. For example, wands made from elder wood are said to have a powerful and protective magic, while wands made from willow wood are known for their adaptability and flexibility. The core of a wand is also an important factor in its properties. The most commonly used wand cores are phoenix feathers, dragon heartstrings, and unicorn hairs. Phoenix feather wands are said to be the rarest and most powerful, and they are known for their ability to perform magic that is particularly difficult or complex. Dragon heartstring wands are known for their power and flexibility, while unicorn hair wands are known for their loyalty and consistency. The properties and meanings of different woods and cores are deeply rooted in wizarding lore and tradition. By choosing the right combination of wood and core, a wizard can create a wand that is uniquely suited to their personality and magical abilities. This creates a deep connection between a wizard and their wand, as each wand has its own personality and characteristics that are intimately connected to its owner. It can often resist what you are trying to do if it doesn’t exactly agree with you or simply leads to spells going awry! Similar to Finnegan’s constantly exploding things. Can lead to dangerous and even deadly results if people continue to abuse magic without the respect it truly deserves. Overall, the use of different woods and cores in wand-making helps to create a rich and immersive magical world in the Harry Potter series. By exploring these connections, we can gain a greater appreciation for the depth and complexity of the wizarding world and the way in which J.K. Rowling weaves together magic, tradition, and the vast mythological histories to create a truly unique & captivating story.
And I think it was Ron who had his brother Charlie's old wand for the first 2 years of Hogwarts until it got broken in his second year. That's why the wand didn't work right for Ron. Thankfully, he eventually got his own new wand by his third year.
As the well known Reactor KSO pointed out: wands have their own sentient interconnected culture! intimately connected to their owners! Each wand has a unique personality and magical properties that are determined by the type of wood and core used to make it. For example, wands made from oak are known for their strength and stability, while wands made from willow are known for their flexibility and adaptability.
In the book, the meeting between Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy is more fun, because they literally hit each other hahaha, and Hagrid grabs them by the neck to separate them xD
Yes!! Finally! I hope you guys finish the series. The third film is my favorite. I remember watching Chamber of Secrets in theaters when I was 10. I’m terrified of spiders so I nearly shat myself when that scene came 😂
Yes please continue the tone of the movies will now start to shift from being campy/kiddy to darker more adult themes. Also an FYI, the actor who plays Dumbledore (Richard Harris) sadly died shortly after the release of Chamber of Secrets so there will be a casting change, as well as a tonal shift in the Dumbledore character.
The giant spiders are based on wolf spiders. When this came out, my parents basement, where the washer and dryer was kept, was infested with them. After seeing this my younger sister and I refused to go down there alone for MONTHS.
I can only echo what everyone's been saying that please keep going with this series as it really kicks into gear from now on and the story will totally grip you.
Dobby is easily a favorite. One thing I like about this film series is how the tone changes over time. From almost whimsical at the first to considerably darker and tenser. Even rewatching as an adult I almost feel like I'm growing up with them again.
I'm not gonna lie....when I first saw the basilisk in this movie, I had the same reaction Ron had with Aragog. Also, every time I hear Hermione say "She's a little sensitive" to describe Moaning Myrtle, I always have the same first thought: A LITTLE sensitive?"
Ron’s fear of spiders come form when his twin brothers turned his teddy bear into a large spider when he was younger and traumatized him…. All because Ron accidentally broke a toy broomstick…
👏👏 Yay! I'm glad you liked this one and we all suspected Professor Snape (The guy in black) but most of us remember he saved Harry's life in the first movie. There are a lot of twists in this series. I do hope you continue with the series. Harry Potter and his friends will learn more of their wizarding world skills and grow up some more! I enjoyed your reaction! ☮ and 💕
I love how BJ sees a flying magical car and his immediate reaction is to diagnose everything wrong with it mechanically. That car is certainly a shitbox of the wizarding world if there ever was one. You guys should do Uncle Buck, which has one of the most iconic shitboxes in movie history.
I can’t wait for them to continue - so many things start to make sense and the pieces all come together perfectly. It’s also crazy to see how kid friendly these first couple of movies are compared to how dark the last few movies get
Hogwarts is the oldest most school that's in Ireland,/Scotland. doubled as a fortress long ago.. has quite the history. It’s founding around 990 A.D. by four of the greatest wizards and witches of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. They each represented an aspect of personality that they wanted to bring out in new students.
The use of different types of wood in wand-making is based on real-world Celtic/ Irish beliefs In their traditional knowledge & mythologies; different types of trees were associated with different months of the year, and it was believed that the properties of the tree could influence a person's personality and destiny. For example, those born in May were associated with the hawthorn tree, which was said to represent love and protection. Those born in November were associated with the rowan tree, which was said to have protective properties against evil spirits. This tradition of associating trees with different personality traits and characteristics is reflected in the Harry Potter series through the use of different types of wood in wand-making. Each type of wood has its own unique properties and characteristics that are said to influence the personality and abilities of the wizard who uses it.
Oh you must keep going. They become quite sophisticated. These first two movies intro you to the characters. Now you are going to start getting info that you collect and it becomes a huge cake filled with wonderful layers. Truly a unique movie series we are not likely to see again
Of course another great reaction guys... You NEED to continue till the last movie because it just keep getting better and better and darker and darker and more serious 😁
5:59 The twins and Ron hide their illicit snack in perfect sync. My favorite synopsis of the Weasely family is that Arthur comes in, sits down and starts to eat before he even notices an extra occupant at the table. Its just homey chaos.
Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin- all have alliterative names which makes them easier to remember- great reaction!
You likely know by now but I’m to impatient to go thru all the comments😂 so just in case… Hermione turned into a cat bc as she said before she turned around, she accidentally picked a cat hair off of the Slytherin girls robe instead of the girls actual hair 😂 so glad you guys have watched these! Please watch all the way through, and don't wait so long between installments. There are 8 in total. The kids are growing up with each new movie. They adults by the end. (Basically, everything we've seen them learning in their childhood is preparing them). You will love how this story evolves, getting darker, becoming more adult -oriented. SUCH an amazing story all the way through. 💖💖💖
This is the last film featuring Richard Harris as Dumbledore. Sadly, he died of Hodgkin's sometime after filming and was replaced with Michael Gambon. And yes, keep going with the series!!
Definitely need to watch all the way to the end. That's when the whole story comes together and you find answers to all of the questions you might have throughout.
It definitely gets better, and darker, as the series moves along. Excellent series but you learn so much more of the backstory with the books. If you read this comment before watching the 3rd movie, the actor who played Dumbledore in the first two movies (Richard Harris) sadly passed away before filming the third movie so Michael Gambon takes over the role from the third movie on. Some reactors have been confused when they first see him in the third movie if they aren’t warned ahead of time. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest of this series!

Yes, definitely watch all the HP movies! They get better and better, you see the characters grow and the story gets intense, it's an amazing series. I think you'll both be very intrigued by how the story evolves.
This is such a fun movies series - I hope you keep going! It's fun to watch how the story matures as the cast does. The last three-four movies are So. Good! Keep goin'! Keep goin'! Keep goin'!
God Bless to you both from my mom and I in So. Cal. 🙏 Your channels are amazing! This second movie is amazing and more darker than the first. More trials, new enemies, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s friendship gets put to the rest yet again. This is the last movie Richard Harris played Dumbledore because he passed away after this movie. Truly a legend! Harry really shows his courage in this movie! The next movie the Prisoner of Azkaban is wonderful but some didn’t like it as well as the others. I love all of the movies equally! Enjoy the world of Hogwarts! ❤️❤️ Can’t wait to see your reaction! 🙏🙏

Same! It would be 4 for me at the top if they actually showed more of the tournament to actually show how the magic system works and so forth! Especially the maze sphinx stuff
@@Makkaru112 FOR REAL! If they would have done the 4th like the book it would definitely be my favorite.
@@John_E_Dunn they had enough time by the time the fourth movie came along to realize what a goldmine they had during the golden years of gaming and film and culture… it’d have been so epic as it was what kicked off the most serious and intriguing tons for the film series. Still loved it though.
Wait, 8 is your least favorite?
Because my favorite is 6 as well😍but 8 is very close at the top for me so I'm kinda dissapointed it's your least one🙈
@@jurajvivana no 8 is my favorite and 6 is my least favorite. I think you misread the order. I love them all though. 6 was just slow and they should have told more of Voldermorts back story and dug into Snape being the have blood prince just a little more... But it was still dope.
"Uh oh, they got a bad timing belt. That sounds like the alternator, actually." You guys are hilarious! These first two are the best ones, I think. This was the first of the books I read.
Just wait till they see what sounds like Rhyme Burner. ;)
Trust us when we say it gets SO much better after this movie.
facts, after the first 2 it get's alot better
But will they learn their names?
@ifly fsx Dumbledwarf and guy in black clothes (Snape) isn't good enough? 😂
This one is actually my favorite.
And darker.
Please watch ALL OF THEM! They're all worth a watch! Of course we also get to watch your reactions lol.
The actor that plays Lucius Malfoy (Jason Issacs) is really good at villains. He was in another movie you reviewed a while ago - The Patriot. He was the evil Col. Tavington, who killed Heath Ledger and was ultimately killed by Mel Gibson's character.
Spoilers, I've never seen the patriot 😂
Yes! Finish the series. It is so worth it.
The third movie is generally considered the best of the eight but my personal fav is the fifth.
Also note Nevil is using his dad's wand so he appears incompedent
And I think it was Ron who had his brother Charlie's old wand for the first 2 years of Hogwarts until it got broken in his second year. That's why the wand didn't work right for Ron. Thankfully, he eventually got his own new wand by his third year.
@@grahamgresty8383 that’s only for the 5th movie. Save that info for them when 5 comes around.
“I didn’t know you could read,” was right on the spot improv
I’m terrified of spiders so I nearly shat myself when that scene came 😂
my entire theater was screaming during that😂
Yes please continue the tone of the movies will now start to shift from being campy/kiddy to darker more adult themes.
That and the ghost is like 53 years old at this time !
let me guess ophidiophobia, its alright i have it too.
It’s also crazy to see how kid friendly these first couple of movies are compared to how dark the last few movies get
Please watch the whole series! I promise you that it's worth it. The movies get better and better as they go forward. It's a fantastic story line.
33:47 but BJ, you were just advovcating for them to follow the spiders! 😆
F*CK YES!!! Please drop these back to back to back to back to back to back!!!! I need HP and your reaction to these movies in my life!
"i didnt know you could read" was an imrooved line i believe
If you notice, Harry actually shakes his head when the snake is trying to attack at the duel. So he is trying to call it off
You likely know by now but I’m to impatient to go thru all the comments😂 so just in case… Hermione turned into a cat bc as she said before she turned around, she accidentally picked a cat hair off of the Slytherin girls robe instead of the girls actual hair 😂 so glad you guys have watched these! I’m gonna marathon watch them!! Can’t wait! Much ❤from Lake Cumberland Kentucky!!!
they have Xmas Breaks and Easter, but students can opt to stay at school during those- Harry always does, unless he's going to the Burrow.
Yes please keep watching, i love that you guys wait till the end for commentary, also you have to pay more attention to details as movies are growing up as they go ❤
Love your reactions to the HP movies. Be careful reading comments, I genuinely hope no one spoils anything for you guys! Keep up the great content!
Every time I watch this movie with someone who’s never seen it before, I love seeing the look on their face when they find out who Tom Riddle really is 😂 cannot wait for y’all to finish the series!
FINALLY OMG!!! I’m here for this!! I discovered your channel very recently and I love your reactions I feel like I'm with you guys watching the movies ❤😂
I haven’t even start the video and I know is gonna be funny.
Hey, loved this, I get the point of discovering the story with the movies for the channel, but when you're done, I realy wish you'd read the books, or take the audiobooks, there's so much more and it's so good, full love onto you guys
I love how BJ said he can deal with anything but spiders and snakes, and there are literally spiders and a snake in this movie. 😂
Asia trying to stay awake was the best part of this reaction 😂
A month for the Polyjuice means it's a difficult potion but there are some much more difficult and longer potions to brew...
15:00 Eat Slugs! Your guys reaction is hilarious!
Youre going to come to learn that dumbledore is an OG not just in his actions but in his words. The wisest movie character ive ever seen
Hagrid did lose his wand, it was broken. Dumbledore took the pieces and put in the umbrella allowing him to use simple magic
Keep it going guys! Big revelations to come for everyone😃 You're gonna love it
now get ready for the rest of the roller coaster! the story is only going to get darker and more mature from here...but it is worth it. hopefully people in the comments can help yall out with the character names and their relationships/relations to others.
1am here in the uk!!!!😂 I’ll catch you guys when I wake up! Already excited to watch!!! My comfort TH-camrs ❤
"It's like flying teletubees!" He said that with so much anger lmaooo 😂
Heyyyy! Yes!!! Most definitely watch the entire series! You won't regret it, in fact, I think you'll regret it if you *don't* watch them. It's a good story and great acting by all.
Good! Keep goin'! Keep goin'! Keep goin'!
RIP Robbie Coltrane ❤ it's not hogwarts without you, Hagrid
It’s no longer a kids film going forward. More and more serious. Darker. More intrigue growing galore
Can’t wait to see your reaction! 🙏🙏
OMG I thought you guys had given up on the series 😢 Pls pls pls pls pls watch the rest of them, I know you will love them!
So glad to see this with you guys, can't believe I made it to the premiere haha shoot. Nice reaction, you're in for a wild ride with the rest of the films, it only gets better.
Prisoner of Azkaban was one of, if not the best of the series. Deathly Hallows was great too.... they are all great. But the next one changed everything.... the tone, the look, it's a great film!
The Prisoner of Azkaban is my all time favorite movie of the series for a bunch of little reasons..I can’t wait til you guys watch that one next!
You guys make me smile in every watching and laugh in most and it your interactions with each other that doit the feelings and love shows.
10 more hours until your journey really begins... be sure to watch the extended editions from now on!
What extended editions?
@@thatoneguy-tj5pc of the next Harry Potter films of course. ;)
@@farttruster8715 there are many cool websites for it. That and over many years people have put together many montages and playlists here on TH-cam showing them all from every movie back to back….
I found the extended version of the first two films, but I don't think there are for the next six. I also looked on Wikipedia
"FANTASTIC BEASTS ARE WHERE TOO FIND THEM" IS ANOTHER SERIES BY J.K.ROLLING👍👍👍👍
"Why couldn't it be fallow the butterflies???" 🤣
✌️
Watchutalkin'bout, Asia, 'should you keep watching'?! Girl, YES!!!! WATCH ALL 'EM & WATCH 'EM FASTER so ya'll don't be forgetting what all happened from one movie to the next! LMBO The movies grow up with the kids and they get darker and more serious along the way so ya'll gotta pay close attention to the things the characters SAY and the things you will sometimes be shown in the Daily Profit newspapers that they sometimes show on the screen. I could SEE you being kinda bored earlier in the movie, Asia, but I promise you the movies are gonna get to be so much bigger, darker, and amazing as you go on. PLEASE keep watching!🥰I, personally, would recommend y'll watch the extended editions going forward.
Exactly. And they are reading the comments too from the looks of it so I hope they read this comment of yours too. You said it beautifully. Eloquently. ❤❤❤❤
I'm loving your Harry Potter reactions so much! They only get better from here! I'm so glad you started reacting to these because I've watched so many of your other videos since you reacted to the first movie!! Loving the channel :)
It always struck me as eerie how Professor Dumbledore describes the Phoenix cycle, while Richard Harris knew he didn't have much time left either.
Fun Fact: The actor who plays the photographer Colin Creevy grew up to be a photographer IRL
10:05 ALICTOISHUS STOPUS! bruh...i cant...xD
If you ever want more context, you can listen to Jim Dale or Stephen Frye read the books.
Also, Molly has one of the best moments in any of the movies (no spoiler)
As you watch these, just remember in the back of your mind that Dumbledoor knows what is going on and is like 5 steps ahead of everyone all the time. It's WILD!!
hell yeah,,, gotta finish the series, lots of fun and unsolved questions will be answered
Ugh I love y’all so much and am so happy y’all are doin this series! Love to hear your thoughts on everything❤ I always have so much fun watching your vids, you truly are a comfort.
A fun fact if this hasn't been mentioned yet, but at the end when Lucius is going to cast a spell on Harry for freeing Dobby he's legit about to cast the killing spell on him lmao
I hope you continue this series.
As the series progresses you watch these kids grow up.
And as they get older the series gets darker.
It's so good.
The one thing out of the wizard in universe I’d love to try is Quidditch. Would be so cool being able to just fly around
