Aurora: “Churchyard” is just like the concept of someone bigger using their power in the wrong way, that happens all the time in politics, with children, women. I wanted the songs to feel empowering - like at the end of “Churchyard”, she comes back to haunt him. Quote is from her Interview with the Independent. September, 2018.
This song is a masterpiece. I love how she has an almost out of body experience while performing and then she comes back to being herself at the end of the song. Brilliant!!

This divine way she sings, like a lullaby (my inner child cried when I listened to it for the first time) this energy, you can feel that she cares, she lives it. This... This is art and I feel it. Since 3 days ago I have listened to it constantly all day and all night long. I don't count, true inner peace can't be counted.

I've been listening to Bjork for maybe 15 or almost 20 years. I respect the heck out of her and the absolute power move of how well crafted her music is, constantly. Given that said... Bjork doesn't even come close. Aurora has tapped into a new realm of musical mastery. Not in a Jacob Collier kind of way, mind you. Collier might be a literal musical genius, but even a person like him falls short of this kind of intensity and dare I say, magic in his music. Aurora might, and just might remind me of the most visceral Sigur Rós pieces like I Gaer, Popplagid or Brennisteinn... but then again she takes it to the next level. She brings eternity and human condition together. Bjork could only dream of half this power.
