One thing I always loved about this film is that as strange as Pee Wee is, no one picks on him or talks down to him. Like in most films, those biker kids would have been laughing at Pee Wee and thinking he's weird. Instead, they treat him like a friend and are supportive.
I like when directors/writers do stuff like this. A character we might consider weird, obnoxious or annoying is just treated normally or with kindness. If you also like that then I recommend Lars and the Real Girl or Tim Robinsons I Think You Should Leave. They have weird characters in them and everyone is kind to them but it’s not like they’re trying to teach a lesson or anything. It’s just normal
