Really, really helpful for those of us who are not Logic power users - I have been doing this "longhand" for ages and wasn't aware of "Quick Swipe": now I am. Thanks!
Hello Doug! I really need your advice on something: I am about to purchase a Lowden F35 and I want it with electronics... My two choices are : 1. LR Baggs Anthem or 2. K&K Trinity (Pure western and Mic) But I dont like UST so I think I have to go for K&K .. But is it better ,more natural ,warm than Anthem? I also dont want to run it through a DI ,is this possible with K&K ? What would you suggest from these two,or do you have in mind a better option?! Thank you very much Doug!
Those are 2 very different pickups. The K&K sounds warmer to my ear, more lower mids. The Anthem offers more opportunity to tweak by adjusting the mic vs UST levels. There is a UST-sound to the Anthem, but it's better than most. One downside to the K&K is that you have to super-glue it in. You will certainly need a high impedance input for the K&K. Depending on what you're playing thru, you may need to add a DI or preamp, or you may be fine. Both of these systems can sound good, and there are many other options. I'm preferring the Trance Amulet-M these days, which is an SBT like the K&K, but a bit more balanced and less pickupy-sounding to my ear, and doesn't require permanent superglue. But it all comes down to personal choice.
If you record multiple takes on the same track, you will assemble a "take folder" automatically. Move your mouse over one of the takes and the cursor changes to a vertical bar. Then sweep out the area you want. Or just click on a take to select the whole thing. I think I show this in the video, there's no feature to find, it's just there automatically. What I didn't show in this video is how the takes got created, but it's pretty boring :-) Just record over the same time frame as many times as you want, and you'll get those multiple takes. There's a little arrow in the left corner of the track to open or close the takes. Does that answer what you're trying to figure out?
@@TheBlueskyson That;s the magic - you just record over the same track, and it doesn't erase what's there, it creates a new take. All takes will be there and you can select all or part of any one. Give it a try with just a test track and you'll see what happens.
terrific tutorial Doug, thank You
