    I like that this is the most "honest" view out there. Others post clips of stacked and enhanced images, but this guy shows what the objects look like if you look through the eyepiece. I remember my first view of Saturn through an 8" scope at campus, and it sure was disappointing. It was so small! Yeah, you saw a bulge that was the rings, but that was pretty much it.

    I have the Nexstar 6SE and I upgraded to "Bob Knobs" for collimation screws and I have my scope set perfect. The views of Jupiter and Saturn from my deck here in the middle of Calgary have been much better! Not bigger but more HD! Great shots. Enjoy!

    Great workt Tyler, not easy to get great planetary images, many people don't understand that and are unduly critical. experiment with some different lenses and filters, many great images come from using a dedicated CCD camera using stacked images. Clear skies and happy viewing.

    Thank you, Tyler, for showing us what your telescope can do :)
    Do you remember the focal length of the eyepiece you used in these pictures? I read there was a 25mm eyepiece included when buying the 6se, is it useful? All the best from Germany :)

    • @jeff6877
      @jeff6877 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthias Kranixfeld . For most of the pictures I used the Celestrom Zoom eyepiece, I posted a video about it a little while back. It allows you to use a full range of focal lengths when looking through the scope with only some small adjustments. Hopefully that helps.

    I'm considering this scope. What's your opinion on how well you can view deep space? Second question, does the long focal length present any problems with not being able to fix an entire object in your view?

    • @jeff6877
      @jeff6877 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey there. I havnt tried out many telescopes to give you a large overview, however, it is the best iv had so far. Clear, smooth image. Deep space, hm, i find it difficult to get look far and get pictures like those i see on the internet or instagram. I wish i could see the planets more proficiently, even with my zoom lens its difficult to see Saturn for example. Its very expensive for the scope, maybe id consider other options aswell. Im not at expert in this field. Thanks for the comment.

    • @jeff6877
      @jeff6877 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The biggest object I can see is the moon, I just adjust my zoom lens to fit it in my lens. Every other object is small and can easily fit in my sights if I can find it..I stopped searching the skies for awhile. I find it difficult to look at more than just the moon

      Tyler I’m barely getting into this scene and would like a really good telescope to see far objects. What lenses do you use and can you get better lenses to see Jupiter clearer? What telescopes can you buy which you can see something like Pluto? Lol...

    I can get images like this on my cheap £60 telescope from 20 years ago. Is there anything more advanced than this or is this about as good as it gets for under £1000 ?

    • @Laksegrateng99
      @Laksegrateng99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @ telescope technology doesnt really change. The way telescopes work have been the same for centuries. The only real technological advances with newer telescopes is the ablility to track objects.

    • @solkatlol
      @solkatlol 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is poor usage of the telescope, plain and simple. The 6se is a great beginner scope, but snapping a few quick shots through it doesn’t do it justice. You can find some really impressive shots out there from people who know what they’re doing

    • @FsimulatorX

  • @steveamurray59
    @steveamurray59 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Using a cell phone, that's why the images aren't that clear. Maybe your scope needs alignment, just saying I've seen better quaility through a 6se

    • @jeff6877
      @jeff6877 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Steve Murray yea its typically very poor quality pictures. I was just holding my phone up to the scope and taking pictures. Which is alot harder than expected since your camera has to find the small pinhole in which light enters the eyepiece and attempt to hold it there and take pictures in the cold.

    Those views are terrible. Even a 80 mm dia 600 mm focal length Celestron achromat refractor using a 8mm eye piece ( 80 $ US ) in my light polluted sky shows 4 sharp dots in the nebula called the trapezium. And I consider that bad. I know of what I speak see my paper on 3 double stars in Hercules I wrote for a Psychics class in 2007. In the Journal of double stars 3 inch Tasco author Darrell Grisham Good reading , look it up, a small telescope in FOCUS can see some really interesting things. The double star Rigel and the secondary star seperation 9.8 arc seconds easy. Good viewing and learn. It can be done Tyler, good first try. Hope those reading this will give them hope.
