No problem. Appreciate the comment. Oh I am always honest. I don’t care. I do not BS on anything or anyone. I tell you how it is and my opinion. I try to help others make an informed decision.
Ubs. Customer service again. I was just looking at a Kastking reel. BUT with another info on a bad customer service I will probably take my business to another company. A lot of good companies that sell good fishing reels. The attitude, making the "customer" a problem, is a deal braker. Thanks for sharing 👍🐟 Merry Xmas.
I hear you. Customer service is big thing to me. I have a St. Croix Bass X rod that broke near the tip. I emailed about the warranty because it’s still in the warranty. Never heard from them. That’s it for me. No more St. Croix rods for me.
I would have followed up with phone call. I don’t rely on emails. I actually called KK. I’m old school. Also those rods were known for that. Must had have a bad batch of blanks
I’ve been nothing but happy with my KastKings. I have 5 now, that I use in the surf. I thought I would grab some inexpensive reels to use surf perch fishing and with crab snares. I will say they have me hooked. I wish they had a better selection of line counter reels. I probably have a half a dozen Okuma Convector Low Profile Line Counter reels for trolling Kokanee. I wish they would enter that market.
I am happy you are happy with them. They do what they need and you catch fish on them. That is all that matters and you are not breaking the bank. I think they do have one with a line counter on it if not mistaken. Go double check website.
Thanks for your responses. The ReKon is a little big for Kokanee. The Okuma Convector Low Profile is closer to the size of a baitcaster reel, only with a line counter. KastKing has a number of great bait casters. I think it’s not a huge step for them to make the leap. I have my fingers crossed. Everything I see from them has been pretty good and they aren’t afraid to do what it takes to make them better.
you can order parts from their online form. it's not as simple as shimano's site and i don't know if they will take orders via phone like daiwa...but it could be an option once the reels go out of warranty, especially if it's a cheap part like a bail spring.
Nice review of kast king. I know you said that fishing is more about presentation etc. I have to disagree that a good quality reel isn't just as important. The drag must be smooth otherwise if you catch a large fish that puts you to the test a sloppy drag will just snap that line for you like you snagged a log.
Thank you I appreciate it. Yes true about reel as well. I said the rod is more important than the reel. Not saying reel isn’t important. Just don’t use a 20 dollar reel and you will be ok. I use 400 dollar reels all the time as well. But the rod action is what can make you lose a fish first over the drag. The rod action is what pulls the hooks out of mouths. You need to have enough backbone but soft enough, the right action for the presentation you are using and not too cheap of a blank that it breaks. They are both important but the rod comes first is what I was saying and meaning. We are all entitled to our opinions and no one has to agree with me and vice versa.
@@rjmfishtales I agree. Yes the rod is important as well. I used to fish a lot and everything I used was all quality equipment. Just stumbled on this review of a China brand and it was intriguing! I totally agree with you re buying expensive reels. Yes they're very nice, balanced, and smooth.... But if the quality of the China brands are acceptable I would definitely buy the China brands. It's hard to justify spending that type of money on reels if there's perfectly fine reels available for 1/5 the price!
I just bought a mega jaws elite spinning reel with one of there assegai spinning rod can't wait to recieve them. What rod do you have your mega jaws elite paired with?
You can fix KastKing reels easily by getting a Shimano Vanford. FYI never use USPS to ship anything.....slow and unreliable, kind of like KK 60.00 reels, get what you pay for.
It's refreshing to see people be honest about a brand even with a working relationship, thanks for the video keep them coming!

Customer service was fine. Just wish they paid for the shipping back. All my other reels have been good. Merry Christmas as well.
Love my kast kings just got my second Sharky III
Good deal. Going good so far minus the hiccup

Yes the Rekon round reel has a line counter on it.

Yes sir or just buy another one at their prices.
Spot on Ryan! Nice video! Good job!
Thank you sir. Have a good Christmas if we don’t talk.
Good review and commentary my friend! I'm just starting to explore Kastking products and I've been pleased so far. Keep on keeping on!
Thank you. Yes the quality has improved on their reels from 10 years ago
I live is South Carolina. Where do you fish....I fish Saluda river, Lake Greenwood, Parr Shoals, Lake Monticello, Lake Wateree and Lake Marion.
Marion, private lake, Charleston Harbor, Murrells Inlet.
Can you please do reviews on 7 inch Fish Finders? I can't seem to find anyone doing reviews across brands and comparing similar models
I only own one fish finder. I use Garmin as of now.

I use a mix with this reel. Speed demon pro from KastKing for freshwater and also TFO professional series for saltwater. You will like this reel.

I sold all my Shimanos. I don’t use too much spinning reels anyways.
