I always enjoy zombie shows/movies where the people in it aren't oblivious to what zombies are, and the shout-out to 'Train to Busan' in the first couple episodes was pretty great lol

I gotta say, the difficulty that the characters have in killing the zombies is way more realistic than most zombie movies.
Its not realistic at all, the idiot characters kept hitting their bodies instead of bashing their heads in. Nobody would be so stupid not to figure out such an obvious way of killing the dead for 12 episodes lol, especially since they all knew what zombies are you'd think theyd atleast be smart enough to know how to fight them

Also with folks being able to turn into invincible superhumans when bit in only the 1st season of this show do you really think all seasons going forward will have zombies as the main threat? Its a clear build up to superhumans vs humans and I definitely wont be watching that BS

The way you’re saying as if they were all military trainnee, they were prepared to fight with zombies or bla bla bla. It was complete shock for them when the students face the zombies. World couldn’t even face the corona virus and you expect these kids to fight with zombies. Lol. That’s why the series looked more realistic than other zombie movies.
One thing I know about zombies, is fighting them is usually a bad idea especially when it comes to using melee, your mostly likely to get bit than win, so yes running into them and knocking them over is better than trying to kill them.
I love South Korean zombie media because they’re not NEARLY as reliant on guns as American zombie media because the only people in South Korea with guns are usually the military and police, not average citizens, so they have to get creative with dispatching zombies and I love it

It bothers me to no end that the soldiers that arrvied at the school only asked this one kid at the rooftop if there's anyone else left in the school, as if this one knows where everybody else is hiding, they didn't even check, it's a big school, it's not like he saw everyone get bit, at least check the place 😤😤

There was no reason they couldn't use loud sounds, guns, and the wall they made to mow down them all. They knew the zombies were attracted to sounds and if they didn't these scientists etc in the show were even more moronic than expected. Like... the show is just terrible and full of contrivances.

The military didnt want to take the risk of some getting close enough to their soldiers when it could be avoided by drones and nukes.
If you got time to complain about somebodies else their work then you surely would be able to make something beter right? I mean, how many zombie stories have you made that have been made into a tvshow or movie? Or even a manga or an anime? A comic or a cartoon? A tabletop game or a videogame?

One thing i love about this show is the fact that military is actually smart.
The general listened the experts and planned the operation carefully unlike most other zombie movies
EHhhh, they were pretty dumb. Like, even the semi zombies showed lower temps but for some reason until the high pitch sound they kept saying TheRe WaS nO WaY to figure out who was a zombie.... They had a Semi zombie with them for a while that would also show lower body temp like the one they checked on the roof. They would have known this and used it but no we get dumb stupid logic. Also they blew up the places way too fast and didn't actually wait for zombies to swarm into locations long enough. The zombies in buildings would take a bit to come outside and a lot of zombies that were disabled would eventually crawl there but no they just bomb because of impatience and wanting to kill innocent people I guess? There was no reason not to wait. They had the whole place locked down and everything. They were so dumb it drove me mad.
Korean shows have a very pro government and military slant to them. Just sit back and wait for the experts to handle it type thing

I think my biggest issue with this series was when the military found out about the "Hambies." When they're like, "we have absolutely no way of being able to tell if people are asymptomatic, or not infected. BTW, on a completely unrelated note, that couldn't possibly help with the first thing, we found that sound of a certain level of hertz draw the normal infected, and severely cripple the asymptomatic people, while having little to no effect on normal humans."

Also the one showed to have hypothermia when they checked their body temp even though they didn't have any symptoms of it and they knew that zombies had low body temps already. That would mean all of them have a lower body temp which also means the one they had with them that they were testing on would also show lower body temperature. Logically they would have figured this out but no we get retardation.
I think theyvwere trying to draw parallels to covid 19. Lots of these korean shows seem to have a very pro government/military slant to them.
The point of this, and most other stuff in the show, was that the adult world is supposed to be totally inept.
@@novaangle2183 Except with that point, it is still within normal human parameters, so it could still just be hypothermia. Hence why, when they checked her on the roof, they didn't think anything of it. Don't get me wrong, that is still a helpful aspect to determine this, but its not fool proof.
One thing I've always wondered about. Imagine Zombie ants. Like if the ants got the infected blood in their system. That's it. Game over. There's NO beating zombie ants. They'll easily fit through countless spaces. They can go for miles. They stay in COLONIES. It'd be impossible to beat them

Zombie ants actually exist but they're not the fictional zombie that infect others also zombie ants infecting humans will be pretty much impossible so they're not really a threat realistically but u can make an interesting series out of that
The thing is insect and mammal immune systems are so wildly different a virus that infects one with almost certainly won’t be able to infect the other

@@dot2382 I think you're referring to cordyceps which is a fungal infection that attacks ants and causes to cling to the top of plants and release spores. I never played much of these games, but if I remember correctly that's the cause for the outbreak in the last of us games
To deal with hambies, couldn’t you just see how a normal zombie reacts to them? That seems like a simple test that will determine if a hambie is indeed, a hambie.
Zombie reacts, subject is human.
Zombie no react, subject is hambie.
Also, if the zombies are easily distracted, you can create a bell to draw them to an area to either kill, or contain.
Honestly this seems like an easy one to beat after the initial chaos is over. The chaos period will be very difficult to beat.
Good idea, but keeping normal zombies as test subjects, pets or guards never works out well in these stories.
Yea it's easy to survive this after the outbreak since u will pretty much know already how to exploit the infected same with any other zombie from other zombie series
@@emmarald975 They had the entire area with teh zombies locked down and they already had a zombie locked up. Could have easily tested it out. It was just a dumb plothole.
@@dot2382 This is only if it doesn't spread so fast that the dispersal of the information exists. If we were so far removed from the area, having outpaced the initial surprise outbreak (and considering that contaminated drinking water or even dirty laundry from any brushes with the infected hasn't taken us out) that we could observe this, document, and then spread it effectively to enough survivors that we can make it known.
The fact that it spreads so quickly, and even through old blood on a rag makes that increasingly unlikely. Which means we will probably have to rely on personally witnessing these methods ourselves, without any of this knowledge. Even recordings and reportings of attacks probably wouldnt be too helpful, because let's be honest, in the heat of the moment of a surprise outbreak, handheld recordings wouldn't be like, "Ok, let me get a good angle on the action and see what methods of attack are more effectively. Make sure sound is a decent quality too."
Analysis like these videos (great content and entertainment) often does so from a removed, sterile perspective. We can zoom out and look at the larger picture and take our time in analyzing different evidence, in an omniscient sense. Real world event? We'd largely be right in the muck and chaos. If we make it out, there might not even be tv media to tell us how to fight back. We wouldn't be omniscient and aware of how this virus works.
Largely, it all comes down to a crapshoot.
Plus if you Have or are a hambie who doesn't want to kill humans they/you could easily just walk through hordes and kill the zombies with no risk to themselves.
I think the neck thing kills them because it's severing the spinal cord. So the entire body wouldn't be able to function. It's just my theory though

But the brain itself being destroyed would also make the body unable to function. If the Spinal cord itself was the issue that would only make sense if the entire cord itself was the issue but then you'd have to destroy all nerves to kill it which isn't how it works in the story. It doesn't make sense in any regard to biology and makes me think it's more to try to make itself different from other zombies which is lame.
The show makes no sense if their hearts aren’t beating they shouldn’t be able to function

All of Us Are Dead is easily my third favorite Korean zombie flick. Just behind Train to Busan and Kingdom. Korea is the only country to make the zombie genre look fresh again in cinema.

@@draconequus2164 Didn't like it at all. There were no stakes, the zombies became CGI balloons and the characters are just forgettable.
A coincidence I found was the with hambies, when their emotions are strong enough that it overrides fear. Either rage, or apathy at the face of death (like with the 2 girls) it must switch smth in their brain to not go full zombie. Also idk how consistent, but I also noticed people usually turned into full zombies faster when the fear of death/being a zombie was recognised. Not that they wouldn’t of become zombies, but sm times they walked around with bite marks until someone pointed it out and they panicked and started turning rapidly. Whilst when the president found out she was like “welp time to die” and it’s like it switched smth. Honestly wish the infections change depending on peoples mental state was explored more, instead of boring classism that we’ve had millions before.
You're completely right, or at least I think the same thing. It may just be adrenaline also, makes your heart pump faster and circulates the infection through the bloodstream faster
My only problem with the concept is that the zombies should kill each other if the whole idea is turning fear and stuff into rage. The whole it evolved to spread infection and avoid hurting other zombies is just a cop out, especially when freshly turned, nearly turned, or inbetween zombies should still fight like hell against other zombies due to their fear transforming into rage.
That’s something I wished more franchises did. It’s like how in Left for Dead you can see zombies fighting eachother

I think it's more or less they view other infected as normal humans and since they're reduced to instincts only, mob mentality is still intact so they form herds when one or a couple of them are alerted

I love that since in Korea it's harder to find weapons, the newest quirk for Korean Zombie/Horror films is the use of Drones.
Also, zombies in Korean movies are not walking dead squishy zombies that fall apart on themselves.
Trying to kill a human that feels no pain (hence, does not stop) and poisons/kills you through one scratch is a suicide in most cases, since human skull is a lot more durable than people give it credit for in zombie movies.
And even if you use a pointy weapon to kill a zombie (since sharp weapons can apply the most pressure, whereas blunt weapons would be too difficult for an average person to wield successfully/without strength training) - great and good luck. Because now the pointy weapon will be hard-stuck in that one zombie whilst the rest will be coming and coming.
Anything above Walkind Dead level is generally not survivable for an average/unarmed person.
And even IF you are armed, it is 50/50.
Some zombie viruses are asymptomatic at first and then, after a month of being spread globally, 90%+ of people TURN. Think if all people that caught a more infectious COVID would turn in 5-7 months or so, unbeknown to them.
So, EVEN if you have weapons, there are ~7 billion zombies. You won’t have enough ammunition, and using good weapons would be a dinner bell for the hordes…
So, overall, zombie apocalypse is not really survivable. It will definitely end humanity, even if 0.01% remain alive (military, lucky, remote living etc)
And THEN, humanity won’t survive. Since zombies are only ONE of problem.
Surviving in an apocalypse (even without zombies) is not only difficult but also impossible long-term, since all nuclear power plants won’t be maintained and go Chernobyl kaboom on a global scale within a few generations.
Then you will be dealing with “The 100” situation on steroids (since zombies too).
Here’s the thing most people don’t think about. Even though most of us in America have access to firearms for instance I have a gun within close proximity to me for most of the day but even being an avid hunter I and most other people wouldn’t be able to land consistent headshots on running targets and this is what would get me killed in these situations
Yea guns aren’t a get out of jail free card like most ppl think. I’ll say this though, even if only 10% of gun owners are adequately proficient that’s still tens of millions of ppl, and for the few who do live all those other guns and ammo the less skilled leave behind will ensure we never run out for the rest of our natural lives. At that point we just have to keep the surviving shooters from killing each other 😂

Also, trying to use melee weapon on a zombie’s skull is easier said than done - it is VERY hard for a person to pierce a normal skull, and even if they managed to do so, their weapon would get stuck.
So, the whole “we can survive zombies” are people talking about Walking Dead kind of “shamblers” (very slow, too rotten to be durable).
Fresh zombies would be fast AND durable.
Basically it’s not as easy to kill the undead thanks to multiple factors

I think in this series the rules for transmission is from blood to blood or saliva to blood. So if you get blood in your eye or mouth it doesn’t turn you. But blood in an open wound does.

I went into this show sceptical but dam Korean zombies are on a different level of creepy. this is a really good zombie show not as cliche and oblique like most others, some of the choices they make irratate me beyond belief like half the plot wouldn't have happend if they just stuck to together and stopped fighting but overall great show.
People tend to have conflicts in groups, especially when stressed/under pressure.
Also, kids cannot control their emotions as well.
Put 2 and 2 together and what they have show is very plausible. In fact, realistically, something a lot worse could have happened and they would all die MUCH sooner.

Yes, but at the same time, Nam-Ra was completely useless to the plot convenience, like when Gwi-Nam attacked the group at the construction site, she just doesn’t do anything and leave them alone against him even though she defeated him in the past two fights. That was my main problem with this series.

It would be really cool to see a Korean zombie movie based in modern times where a breakout happens again because of the resurrection plant and they realize that it wasn't an old myth that parents scare their kids with. The characters would be trying to find the journals of prince Chang to find out how he they dealt with it with lots of nods to the kingdom series

im not sure what annoyed me more the fact they hardly ever picked up a weapon. or how long it takes them to barricade a entrance, then how bad they are at it like putting student desks stacked on top of each other in front of a sliding door
I think about this a lot but then I remember their high schoolers, their more worried about saving their friends and they are just teenagers and teens don’t usually make the best decisions under pressure
I mean the pressure, trauma, some teens would definitely be more active then other but, some won’t be as developed mentally…
No offense but a kid has not enough force to effectively pierce the skull. And even if they do piece it with a pointy objects (since blunt weapons won’t yield enough force with kids) - now their weapon is hard-stuck and a dozen more zombies are coming.
People really underestimate durability/tenacity of a human body that feels no pain.
I have been trying for MONTHS to get my friends to watch All of Us Are Dead. And...no luck. Sigh...
I love it because it wasn't just someone saying to the cast playing the zombies "run" or "act like you're transforming into something" and leaving it up to interpretation. Rather, the team behind the show had a choreographer actually work with the cast on all the movements, from the turning to the zombies running to attacking, it's incredible. I'm sure that there were some doubles (forget some; there were probably a ton for the scenes where they had to lean super far back). I love these videos, since the behind-the-scenes of zombie (and just horror) movies are always interesting to me, so your videos always introduce me to new stuff!

Oh FUCK yeah, I’m so glad you’re covering this one. I saw it in my recs a few weeks ago and I binged it in a few days. It made me absolutely devastated to the point that by the end of the series, I just had this heavy pressure in my chest from crying so much.

Now that a zombie outbreak can happen in a reality we're people know about zombies does this mean we are not safe anymore? The rule has been broken
Plot armor?!? Like a lot of people died. Like main or main-ish characters. Plenty seemed main character to only die. Now the genetic thing makes sense. People are immune to diseases and given at least a city at least a few would survive, especially if they have issues such as we see.
Plenty of mistakes? True. However, and honest question: How much is excusable due to people not coping well or being highschoolers? Also people do try to cope and “keep their world together” such as denying for some time.
The people don’t try to attack as they know the dangers and speeds makes sense. Can’t find guns so arrows are good and throwing rocks/heavy items isn’t super reliable.
I don't think kissing can turn people, Nam-ra and Su-hyeok kissed after she turned into a halfbie (which we know can turn others) and he was fine. Not sure if this counts, but Cheong-san also kissed On-jo after HE was infected too, (although he wasn't fully turned into a zombie or halfbie) and she was fine. Then again, Su-hyeok and On-jo have excessive plot armor, so unconfirmed.

I have a few ideas on how to survive this scenario.
However, take these with a grain of salt, as I am DEFINITELY not an expert.
1. If the infection starts elsewhere, prepare for the worst. Stock up on supplies an weaponry, and make sure you have a way to escape in case of the worst case scenario.
2. If possible, grab a pot, food seeds, a weapon, a few fishing rods, and a boat. Head out to sea and spend the rest of the outbreak with yourself and potentially others on a boat, growing crops to prevent scurvy, boiling seawater to strive off thirst, and catching fish to eat for protein and fat
3. If you feel like a headshot might not work, attempt to cripple the zombie, as that might buy you enough time to actually kill it or make an escape.
4. If you decide to remain on land, go to a remote location and hear yourself up with enough items and armor to survive once the animals also become infected. When you kill an animal, make sure to cook it properly, as that will most likely kill the virus, or at the very least, get rid of the blood. Clean any melee weapons or utensils immediately after use.
5. Bunker up underground and become a vegan once you run out of your apocalypse meat, if possible, have a weather checking system so you can know when it's best to go outside and attempt to find some extra supplies if you think it's worth it.
These are just a few ideas I have, and many of them may or may not work. I hope this at least interested you.
Man, can you imagine how fast this would spread if it started in the middle of New York City or something... I could see the entire country going down within a few days except for small pockets in states within the middle of the country where the populations are much more spread out

Also maybe it could be pretty chill to be a half-zombie... Find an area void of living humans (who are unpredictable) but full of regular zombies, and you can do and go whatever and wherever you want while having an all-you-can-eat buffet of mindless zombies.
...Then again, I suppose the rage/fear is a factor, and each rainstorm would be a nightmare unless the half-zombie was already deafened somehow...
The kid did not get back at his bullies everything was in vain. And for losing a sense or becoming a Hambie sounds like absolute hell, every lightning strike can maybe be avoided if you scout out a bunker or a sound proof room and add earbuds to that.
What kind of hambie would you become if you felt a great sense of depression while dying?
Not fear but just depression, sitting there accepting fate without fear, already looking lifeless as you get eaten?
Would your hambie be docile unless approached by another person in which they enter rage like the witch from left for dead
Probably just give up and lay down…. And if you started to get your hope back then become enraged
My guess is that depressed hambie would want to seek isolation and when startled (especially by unwanted company), could enter a rage state which ends after hambie is satisfied (hunger-wise or emotionally). They retain their sentience and intelligence like the other hambies but might be weaker than the others in terms of giving into to hunger.

This video was a pleasant surprise, and don't worry about taking a break, we all need one for time to time and the past couple of years have been rough for a lot of us. Heartbreak in particular really just sucks. Take things at your own pace, and focus on you, no one with a heart will blame you for that. Considering how easily (and badassedlly; yes that is a word now that I made it up) those military guys cleared those buildings with smgs I'm pretty confident my combat veteran skills (and katana that I keep behind my door) would see me through this one. Yes one of them went down but he was a dumbass because of the plot and *drama*

As an American who works from home, and is out in the country side... Yeah. These types of zombies wouldn't last long. Granted. Would probably wipe out cities, by sheer durability, and proportionate ideology which would leave them vulnerable.
I do find it incredibly ironic that South Korea, despite having the most active "peace time" draft in the world, is so incredibly demilitarized on the civilian and sociological level.
Makes for a nice setting though.

I had a theory because of the fact that south korean zombies are highly similar, if not identical to each other that all of these outbreaks were in the same timeline or universe. The reason other infections are not mentioned sometimes because it is quickly buried by the government or people in power.
Fot example, the crazy timeline could be
Kingdom (series) -> Alive -> Train to Busan -> All of us are dead -> Peninsula
