This is the first I've heard of these. I might give them a try if my Saki Katana shears ever give out. If they can beat saki katana quality then they must be the best!
I have tried them- very good but Yoshi Japan had a better feel...Interesting- my previous was Saki Katana as well:-) Greta scissors- on the same par as this one but Yoshi Japan is still a level up.
What type of steel are the using. Japanese steel is harder, keps a better edge and you can get it sharper but is more brittle. english steel is more durable as it is not as hard but easier to sharpen and less brittle. I would think japanese steel is better for scissors as they are like knives slicing together and never have to cut onto anything else like a knife which can be ruined easier if it is japanese steel. I have European steel chisels and they are some where in the middle in terms of hardness. I would be interested to hear from a hairdresser who knows a lot about steels and has experience in using all three types and hardnesses of steels. Like which do they think is the best for scissors.
Steel is not a secret, nor is heat treatment, nor is forging, nor is grinding nor is polishing, nor is skill or craftsmanship. Product at this level varies because of subtle differences. Like cars or even f1 the differences are to suit the makers belief in what the priority is for the user.
I have a pair of these they are really good i can't wait to start learning to cut with them.
