Thank you!A wonderful tip with a toothbrush it's even better! I easily removed the chrome on my Gobots Cy-kill. I'm very happy to have come across your video!😁👍
I always go over the stripped parts with some sandpaper to clean the rest of that stuff off. I prefer the sanding sponges for this. I guess I didn't mention that in the video did I?
non acetone nail polis remover but you have to be carefull ,,,i did a video on that on my channel. i remove it because its usually thick and pooled upso it obscures the details ,,,sanding wont fix that
Nice........ Just saw your video on the "Dominos" Indy car ..... ( THAT was a Super [color] Build!! ) and you answer a part of my question there....here! But... what was the elapsed time until you wash away "cleaner" - What brand 'chrome' do you use to respray? Does that same brand have gold also??? Again, thanks for the post.... look forward to your answers.
The over cleaner starts to work immediately. After around 10 min I will wash it off. The cleaner is very strong so I use gloves and my paint respirator. For the chrome re-spray I have been using Alclad II chrome. They have a large range of colors and finishes.
@@ScaledDownCustoms Cool Beans!!! I have that Alclad II chrome AND Gloss black spray for a nicer finish with that metal paint. Thanks for the quick response!!

what about taking this further and here's my questions: how remove the clear coat which is always under the chrome plating? Any idea?

100th like, also great video thank you for the tip!
Thank you. Glad it was useful.
How long did you let the oven cleaner stay on?
Around 10 minuets.
Will this work to remove regular paint (like Testor enamals) also?
I don't think this will work on paint.
This does not work on automotive plastic trim chrome.
That is correct
In my country, hobbyists use bleach to wash chrome away.
Interesting. I might have to try that.
