    I noticed why asians are smarter after checking this comment section.
    Asians do homework.
    Others do youtube.

      I had a cubicle mate that was a Japanese engineer. He published a paper in this first year out of college in 1980 he put a microprocessor in the feedback loop of a pulse width modulation control of a power supply. Then I switched companies and there was goofy tiny Japanese engineer. I thought maybe I could be smarter than him. He found a transducer in a low end stand alone Fluke Voltmeter left over from manufacturing. He used it as an IO port and hooked up to a data logger, like a high end meter. Another Japanese engineer was quickly doing Laplace transforms for circuit analysis. I asked how he knew all this. He got out his Japanese - English dictionary and pointed to the words conditioned response.

    I go to a private school with a mostly Asian population (I am a white American), and I can say not many of them are naturally gifted, I have seen them work really hard, along with other non Asian students, I don't think its your background, I think it has more to do with how much effort you put into your work.

      Exactly. I go to a "gifted" school, where people get put in classes 1-3 grades ahead. I don't have the highest IQ in that school, yet I am in most of the higher classes because I worked hard. My fellow students(many of which Asian), are very lazy and spoiled and get poor grades. It's about working hard, not your ethnicity or your economic position.

      I tend to think of intelligence as innate really. Smarter people need to put less effort to achieve the same result as people who're less smart. So if the Asians you see are working their ass off to get good results, they're either not that "smart", or are just smart perfectionists who want the best achievement.

      i live and born in asia (specifically indonesia), this is 100000% correct. Many of the students in Asia (including Indonesia) when we get a B or A-. the parents immediately asked "why can't you get an A?". or not we are not allowed to play, the wifi is turned off, and it is forbid to turn on the tv on school days.

Then the next week the square roots, I grew up saying i was a prodigy, but I was honestly was in a lot of pain. In middle school grade 8 i finally snapped out and pive normally

    It's not about race, it's about the culture. For Asian parents, it's extremely important that their children do the best possible, and they push them to work harder. Some parents, though, might think of the child's feelings too much and tell them they're doing fine, and don't push them further. Just depends on the environment, honestly.

      This is partly the same reason so many western kids these days are getting fat and sitting at their computers all day gaming/socialising online, parents seem to have become more and more lax, maybe also due to the fact many western cultures have life too easy and ready access to all the necessities; while most Asia generations still come from very poor backgrounds.

      lol defy nature and evoloution? like white people werent meant to be forced to study? its all enviroment. any race would be the same as any other given sum1 elses upbringing. i thought that was pretty self explanatory so it amazes me when they can drag this stuff out for so long. just say "if i pushed my kids that hard too theyd be the same, but we dont want to force stuff on out children like these chinese parents do".... done, and thats the reason for the difference

      Most Asian parents derive from extremely poor families, if they aren't still poor. The parents know, that the only way to ensure that the lives of their children be better or enriched is by excelling academically. They don't want their children and the generations to come, to suffer the same fate they or their parents went through.
      My great-grandfather was from China, and with only the clothes on his back, he hopped onto a leaky boat and crossed into Malaysia. He worked everyday for 3 cents. Each cent bought him a bowl of plain rice and nothing else. He saved 1 cent everyday. Eventually, he made some savings, bought over the soap factory (with friends) which he had worked for years in, at a fortunately low price, because Japanese invaded and occupied Malaysia at that time. He delivered soap to Japanese army bases and the surrounding villages on bicycle, at least 14 hours a day. The rest of the time, is used to make more soap in the factory. Eventually his friends skipped out (and was bought out) until he was the sole owner. He was one of the very first people in Malaysia to ever own a car!
      When he retired, he sold his factory and bought a small land of oil-palm estate. His son took over to watch over and run the estate, and slowly bought over surrounding land to expand. My grandfather was said to be very strict and mean. I didn't get to know him well, because he died when I was 3 years of age.

      I am an English Teacher in Japan and I can assure you, it's not about race or culture... we have more than our fair share of idiots over here who could care less about school. It's more about how individual families put emphasis on education on their kids more than anything else... again as you said, it's more about the environment.

      its true to a degree. Some subjects come easier and more naturally to others. For example i can get the same marks in some subjects in high school as others who study alot more. That to me is disappointing but i still dont know if its just because i was raised differently you know.

      but u must consider guys like me and my friends who dont realy care about school but are on the highest school form in germany (Gymnasium)and do quit well.... and we finish test in like 10 min when they are for 90 min and then we can sleep ;)

      It is in school for the most part, because school isnt very difficult. The concepts are easy enough that above average people can do excellent with a lot of effort. However, intelligence is much more than effort, its just that the standard of school is quite low, and effort is the major effector in that environment.

      Ryukey schools mostly test how much stuff you can paste onto a test sheet. they dont test your ability to do something practical. Think about it. If you dont remember a formula for something when your making some physics calculations you look it up in 10 seconds and just do it. Or if you dont remember a certain part of biology preciesly when your diagnosing someone just look up how the left coronary valve operates in depth and your all good. Its better to have understanding of the concepts and the ability to apply rather than spend all your effert memorizing formulas methods and other things.

      Brains don't grow, they shrink. If they grow with a skull around it, you die from that pressure. Muscle can hypertrophy and can grow and stretch the skin no worries. Neural tissue and muscle tissue are completely different. And Asians have more neural tissue.

    As an Asian i have to say it's wrong to judge a person's intelligence by what grades they get, how many instruments they can play or what school they go & etc. Only their achievements in life should prove their intelligence. I mean look at great people like Abe Lincoln, Henry Ford, Walt Disney they didn't go to Harvard or got only good grades at school, but they contributed a lot of things to the world, now can you call them stupid?
    Intelligence is extremely overrated, i know a guy who has an IQ about 132 (almost a genius), he's a doctor, yet he still lives with his parents, 30 years old, and not very successful.
    So let's judge people by their achievements in life, instead of what degree they have or what classes they took.

      I agree. Intelligence is very useful, but it can't hold a candle to dedication and hard work. You can get by without being brilliant. The same can't be said for work ethic. That's critical to success.

      That's right, Einstein was genius but he wasn't born like that, he became a genius because of his dedication to science and spending a lot of time thinking. He worked hard & dedicated in one area to master it.
      Most people think that just because you have high IQ you are OK in life, but in reality, no matter how smart you are there will be still many problems in your life

    I'm one of the few Asians who did not undergo the so-called "Tiger Mother" education. I still did incredibly well in high school, but not as well as these young ladies shown here. I do notice the difference after I graduated from university that I was not pushing myself hard enough. While my other Asian friends got admitted to Med & Law school, I'm here still struggling to find what exactly I want to accomplish with my life. It's tough, but I'm grateful. I was never forced into doing anything, but I think discipline is likely very important.

    I am an African American. When I was younger I went to a predominantly black high school. I was not learning, and teachers seemed not to care. I was then transferred to a predominantly Asian high school where I excelled. The students only spoke when they were spoken to. The environment was very different from what I came from at my old school. My grades shot right up, and I became very intelligent in math which I thought was my weakest subject. It is environment and not IQ.

    As a child labeled as "gifted", I became complacent once I was made aware of my exceeding abilities. If my parents had family ethics similar to that found among Asian families, I would most likely have been far more financially successful in my life.
    But, my parents were more concerned about having a life filled with love and joy (hippies), not so much about the $. I have had a very rich life.

    I think asians are not smarter or dumber than westerners , they succeed because they are very hardworking.
    My teacher said he had a vietnamese student that left his dorm every evening to revise his lessons alone in the classroom and slept there. After graduation he founded his company.

    I live in the Silicon Valley in the US. I have encountered many smart people in the high tech world in the past 30+ years. Based on my personal observations, Asians are NOT smarter, they are simply harder working and more focused at their goals hence they have a head start and an advantage that leads to their success in school. I am Chinese and my college age daughters are also pure Chinese. My daughters went to a high school that is top in the region with a student body composes of 80+% Asians (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Indian etc.) We raised our children the Chinese way also. They play piano, take Chinese classes, involved in sports, plus everything we asked them to do. They aced every subjects they studied. Yet, they say in their own words, they know some smart people in school that do much better than they do without even putting an effort. On the contrary, they had to work really hard to catch up with these geniuses. I have also observed that girls do better in school than boys nowadays. I believed indulgence in video games is more common amongst boys and hence they tend to fall behind in school works. In my opinion, Chinese parents are too rigid and as a result, many Chinese kids lost their originality and creativity. That will become a roadblock once they leave school because in the real world especially in research and development of products, you have to come up with your own new ideas to be successful. Anything in textbook is already at least 10 years too old. All the leading edge stuffs are not published yet.

      +carol h - Every race has extremely smart people and also extremely dumb people. You need to quote some real data to prove one race has higher IQ than another. Hitler used to believe White people had higher IQ than all other races too, none could be proven true. Don't forget that many IQ tests are culturally biased. e.g. if you don't know the language of the questions, you won't be able to answer them correctly. Some people are very quick with their minds, but they lack education and knowledge. On the other extreme, some people are well studied and memorized a lot of facts, yet their brains are too slow to put what they know into use or come up with insights and innovations and they remain bookworms with no contribution. Of course, whose who are both smart and knowledgeable are what we need to move this world forward.

      +Erich Benjamin - how is that related to the topic here? A hardworking dumb guy will still lose to a hardworking smart guy. Though a lucky dumb guy may beat a hardworking smart guy in some case. These factors are independent and irrelevant to the question "Are Asians Smarter?" Many people think hardworking Asians are successful because they are smarter and totally discredited their hard work. I am Asian myself and I have seen many smart people and I can assure you that the stereotype "Asians are smarter" is what it is a stereotype, not true.

      cplai I agree with what you said. However, one still need that IQ to be able to absorb the subject matter. It's true Asian girls do better in school. My son got into #1 HS in MD (one has to take a test to get in). My daughter at first didn't get in and was on a waiting list. She finally got the upper hand because her brother is already going to that HS. The funny thing is my daughter had superb grades and my son struggled through the magnet program. She also got a full scholarship for college but my son had no chance. Again, like you said, he love video games. I tried not to let him get hook on it but her mom (also Asian) think it was okay. I can tell you now it is DEFINITELY NOT OK.

    I'm a fellow Asian, and I can say for certain that the overwhelming pressure all Asian youths receive does not pay off well for all. I did well as a kid but gave up over time because I didn't have any driving forces that'd stop and keep me from digressing in my involvement with pursuing in academia.
    So I barely graduated high school and was close to repeating... Looking back now, I would have tried if I was brought up properly with the correct mindset that hard work will pay off in the future. I construed and looked at academics as my only enemy growing up. Asian parenting works for some, but in a multicultural society, kids will often rebel as they are influenced by their other peers and friends who are raised in a carefree way. Although I won't argue that Asian parenting won't work for all youths in their native countries because the culture has already defined and normalized it. The difference here is: Asian parenting won't work for all children in a multiculturally diverse environment, though it will work in their native environments because society's expectation calls for it.

      This is the comment, guys. This is the comment. To the original commenter, I am sorry to hear that from you. Thing is, I don't even think this parenting "working" is necessarily a good thing even if it "works", because, like you said, the mindset which the a lot of parents started from had been wrong from the start. The amount of Asian parents that live vicariously through their kids' achievements and having "what will people think? (face value)" and money as motivators to drive their kids up the wall with academics is unreal. This is largely why places like r/AsianParentStories exist, and why all Asian comedy on TH-cam is essentially about how they were abused and how toxic and emotionally immature their parents were. Yes, we can laugh at our emotional damage, but it is not cute or funny in real life.

      Noone is saying that every Asian is smarter than every non-Asian. But Asians may be the smartest on average, and there's probably a biological reason for this related to their race.

      Academics is not the same as striving to make inventions, or becoming truly intelligent. It's about becoming successful in academia or in such stereotypical jobs as doctors or lawyers, which are mostly menial tasks.
      It's all about status and pride, not knowledge, interest, and actual creative intelligence.
      Obviously, there is something to be ashamed of. It's purely materialistic and superficial.

    In my opinion, good grades won't make a person smart. Every answers to an exam can be easily found in textbooks and lecture notes. As long as you're hardworking, study hard, memorize hard or practice hard, you will obtain a good grade eventually.
    My definition of a "smart person" is someone who knows how to apply what he or she has learnt previously to create, innovate, or improvise something.
    Here's an example to support my statement: you can memorize and practice your piano exam pieces hard to pass Grade 8 and earn yourself a high distinction certificate but if you can't utilize the theory of music to compose a simple song of your own, you might as well not learn any music at all in the first place.

      Some people are good in music and with little practice s/he can be good in music. Some people are good in math and with little practice s/he can be good in math.
      With practice we can improve certain skills but it takes talent to be really good, talking about maximum achievable. Not everybody with good grade are smart but smart people always get a good grade.

Math exams are totally different; actually, that still depends on the specific math courses. However, except for some easy ones, it's likely that a student hasn't seen the questions on a math exam anywhere before, not even textbooks nor lecture notes. It's the matter of applying theorems, which are indeed easily found, to solving problems, which are not so obvious. If you're lucky, you might find answer to similar question on Internet or get help on some forums; but that's about it, and such luck is not often. There's no guarantee of a solution without the ability to reason. One more thing, creativity certainly is important; but creativity plus stupidity is destruction.

    Amazing ! no doubt..but looking into the Childrens faces..well,you can see some anger and some despair with being pushed very hard.but I really wish the best future for these students but also hope they will have a social life and also a happy life and not fall into anger,depression or have some resentments towards their parents.very impressive though.3thumbsup

    The whole Asians are smarter is a false concept. It depends on how hard their parents are on them because their intelligence rests on a reflection of their family, community and the honor it brings them. They are shamed if they don't achieve perfection and therefore are forced to do more to make their parents proud. This is great family values but it can be stressful to the children but academics isn't hard to master if you are constantly practicing and studying. They apply themselves more than westerners. I got along with Asians more than most other people.

      I think the age is actually 7, but there's a point in your life where if you move to another country, you can be be completely indoctrinated by it's culture. The older you are when you emigrate, the more resistant you are to cultural integration (it's why people who move away when they're younger lose their accents faster).

    We're no more or less smarter than other ethnic groups. Anyone can be a genius. However, hundreds of years of culture (Confucian ethics and such) motivates and drives us to work our butts off, making us seem quite successful and "smart" as a whole. (I do know plenty of exceptions though haha. Dumb Asians do exist, and I must admit I've had a few dumb moments myself.)

      ***** High IQ does not determine a person's overall intelligence. It just shows that they are good test takers, that's it. I have many friends who have high IQ's and go to Mensa gatherings and a lot of them are socially awkward and lack common sense. You can have all the book smarts in the world but if you can't communicate effectively with people, know how to handle stress, make money, then what good is having a high IQ? In my personal opinion, creativity far outweighs anything you can learn at a school. Even Einstein said that imagination is more important than knowledge. I use my imagination all the time to get things done. Just the other day my neighbor asked me to fix her garage because her lines had snapped. Granted, I've never worked on a garage and had no idea how it was done. So, I basically stood out there, examined where the lines broke off at and where the lines were located at, I measured how long the lines were and the thickness, took it to a hardware store, got the same exact lines, and put new lines up by just looking at it and imagining where it would go before working. I fix a lot of problems this way. When I look at something for a long time, I figure it out and fix it. This skill is something an IQ test won't teach you. I'm all about survival, making money, and being practical.

They can't even hold a candle to Greece, who have made monumental contributions to mathematics, science, philosophy, language, and culture that at least 90% (if not 99%) of the world uses today. Our buildings don't use Hong Kong columns and we don't learn Singaporean geometry. 2. Does it matter? 3. Those are not more than 80 countries. Spouting facts does not contribute anything meaningful to the conversation. And what do cancer rates have anything to do with this? Creativity and ingenuity drive the top dogs of this world (then and now), not abitrary measures of intelligence that parents use to brag about their "gifted" children.

    Absolutely not, I work in Korea as a teacher. Which university you attend in places like China, Korea and Japan determines your friends, job, income and social status, quite literally. Getting into these universities is based on a single entrance exam.
    This entrance exam is excruciatingly difficult, not because it's complex, but because of the shear volume of rote memorisation required. It's like someone asking you to take a test on the Yellow Pages. Korea consistently has some of the highest test scores in the world, yet hasn't won a single Nobel Prize.
    Almost no emphasis is placed on practical application. This is especially true for languages. I've met Korean English teachers who have never written a single English essay in their life, even while at university studying English. Unsurprisingly, they can ace an MCQ test, but are absolutely terrible at speaking English.
    TLDR, Asians memorise hard to pass tests, not to learn, and they usually can't apply what they've learned.

    My IQ is 142 (I'm a mensa) but I am not so successful. I've dropped out of 3 different universities, and never finished post graduate studies. Also, I have various personality disorders and medical conditions (PTSD is one of them). My sister's IQ is measured to be around 110, but she has earned a doctorate from an Ivy league school. She already has an amazing job with high paying salary and benefits, while I'm still struggling to finish school.

    Brain size doesn't necessarily correlate to brain performance.
    It's very hard to deny parenting's influence when the correlation between successful/pressure parenting and student success is very significant.
    The best way to scientifically gauge the situation would be to examine non-asian children raised by successful/pressure parenting (preferably Asian parents for consistency sake) vs Asian children raised by non-successful/pressure parenting (preferrably not Asian parents for consistency sake). I do not know if there have been any studies like that.
    From personal observation, I've noticed that effort correlates to success in school by a large factor, but nonetheless many non-asian people including myself would still get very high marks while putting very little effort into things at all (I would frequently never do homework). How many Asian-raised kids never do their homework?
    Conversely, I have seen many non-Asian students perform very well due to putting significant amount of effort into their work/learning. Overall it seems to me personally that race is not a factor, or at least not a significant-enough one to notice.
    Asian is an extremely broad term; there's Kazakhs to Japanese to Indonesian and everything in between. It's difficult to measure anything when broad generalizations are made regarding a population. There are extremely significant genetic differences within the large Asian region.
    Lastly the statement made that some Asians may be self-motivated or more disciplined rather than affected by their parents doesn't make them "smarter" (smart is a terribly vague term), just more determined, and who says that some non-Asians aren't also self-motivated/dsciplined?
    The research result that non-Asian "tiger children" get beaten by Asian "tiger children" is interesting. Are there source for the studies that the video author keeps mentioning?
    The point that Sargon II made is very significant. In a local setting, a significant (and/or majority) number of Asians may have poor performance, just that due to large volumes of populations in many Asian countries, the emigrants that get picked out to immigrate to other/more- developed countries will be top of the line, be it parenting-wise, or genetic-wise.

Because while Homo Sapien has a superior brain weight / body weight ratio to Homo Erectus and Neanderthal, sub-Saharan Africans made several important innovations ensuring the survival of the species as well as building large buildings and roads while Northern Europeans and East Asians lagged far behind for thousands of years. And Northern European H.Sapiens and East Asian H. Sapiens are supposed to have a higher brain weight / body weight ratio than sub-Saharan African H. Sapien.
      Apparently, once H.Sapienhood is achieved, small physical differences between different population groups are no longer relevant. They are relevant only when comparing Homo Sapien to other species. As the archaeological record clearly indicates, along with the work of Stephen Jay Gould.

    Anyone who thinks "Asians" (however you define that term) are universally smarter than everyone else should come live in an Asian country for a while. Sure, you have intelligent and educated people and there is generally a strong emphasis on education, but there are just as many stupid, ignorant and uneducated bafoons living here (as well as people of average intelligence) as anywher else.
    One Chinese girl I knew in Beijing didn't know there was a war going on in Afghanistan.
    Several Taiwanese tourists I've met in Japan say many Japanese have never heard of Taiwan and confuse it with Thailand. Considering Taiwan is right next to Japan and used to be a Japanese colony, this is akin to a French person having never heard of Algeria or a Brit having never heard of India.
    One mistake is to assume immigrant populations are representative of the whole of the populations from which they descend. The people who emigrate from China and Korea often come from highly educated, academic backgrounds to begin with. If, instead you had semi-illiterate farmers and migrant workers from Sichuan migrating to New Zealand, Europe or North America, I think people would have a different picture of East Asians.

      Yeah, education in China and Japan is very theoretical and often heavily geared towards blind memorization, in other words, memorize Chapter XYZ of this textbook until you can recite it in your sleep, but don't try to explain or analyse what it's saying. This is partially why people in China and Japan study English for 6-7 years, but still can't say anything beyond the standard "hello", "how are you" "I'm fine, thank you" when they graduate.

      By the way, knowledge and education have absolutely nothing to do with intelligence. People with higher intelligence tend to be more curious and hence, to seek out more knowledge, and tend to do better in school, but most IQ tests focus on solving logical problems instead of testing how much knowledge you have. Your IQ is mostly genetic and doesn't change depending on how much education or knowledge you have.

      Despite the rhetorical nature of your question, yes, I am very aware that Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities in Western China riot in Xinjiang, and I wish more people know about it, but no, I don't expect every Westerner to know about Xinjiang. Afghanistan, however, directly shares a border with China. Taiwan used to be a Japanese colony and is located just south of Okinawa. If someone from Japan doesn't know that there's an island (de facto) nation they used to occupy called Taiwan, then yes, I'll call him/her an ignoramus.
      No, being ignorant doen't necessarily mean someone is unintelligent, but it does disprove the stereotype that all Asians excell in education.
      Also, this is NOT meant to imply that East Asian people as a whole are stupid/ignorant -- only that there are just as many uneducated ignoramouses here than in any other part of the world, and that Chinese expat communities in Western countries already represent an exceptionally well-educated and hard-working part of the population, not the average person in China (expat communities in general are never fully representative of their home countries).

    My friend is Asian and she's really freaky smart, only in 8th grade and she does geometry! Her parents r really strict and only 95 or higher is good enough for her parents especially math English and science. I'm Asian and I'm average, it really depends on the parents, 90 or higher makes my dad happy. 80 to 89 makes my dad disappointed. Lower he gets angry. My mum is a differ story. 95 or higher anything lower she'll scold me and talks about it for days. ITS SO FUDGING ANNOYING!!

      It's about social status.

    When I was in school, I was the half asian kid so people were like ooooo your smart, your probably in honor class, teachers pet...
    So I was too ashamed to actually underperform and embarrass myself so I studied a lot until I made sure I was in honors. So from freshman to senior I was in honors, with a 4.0 GPA.
    However when people say were robotic in intelligence and not creative. How do explain that I am a high IQ person that can sing, and paint???

There is a pretty strong correlation between intelligence as measured by modern IQ tests and success in life with regards to academia and income. A man with mere average or lower IQ is very very unlikely to become a successful doctor, scientist, entrepreneur, politician, lawyer or similar.

      Well, beeing in jail is associated with low IQ since a smart person finds more constructive ways to use his abilities in general.
      You have a very subjective understanding of intelligence. Intelligence does not mean "knowledge", and I posted before that wisdom and IQ is not the same. But only a fool would think that doctors are not intellgent. Doctors are on average far more intelligent than the general population. By intelligent I mean able to process alot of information, see patterns and such. That is to say, intelligence as can be measured objectively rather than the subjective standards you put forth (going to jail, seeing alot of different perspective etc. -> you are moving into wisdom issues and experience, that is seperate from innate intelligence)
      Interesting observtion about Asians and Whites. I have noticed this myself about the creativeness issue. From what i've read there are some variations in estrogen levels. This is probably controverial though, and I don't know the exact cause of the said observation. But again, there is a clear correlation between innate IQ potential and chances of doing well academically. There are more factor that come into play when beeing able to create novel ideas, but innate intelligence is one of those factors.
      There certainly are many smart blacks and culture probably has some weight when explaining why african societies tend to be more dysfunctional, but culture alone does not explain all the data. As with most things, both genes and environent are factors that play in. The IQ discrepancies in the US has not changed much over the last decades despite concerted efforts to close the gap.
      The claim that "all races" have the EXACT same potential in intelligence is a statement without any basis in statistics or science. It is a political statement. It is infact quite the opposite of what one would expect from a reason perspective given evolution. Im not saying that any race is "superior" as that ofcourse depends on what qualities you determine as such. I think there is clear evidence of varieties though on the average between groups.
      Do you for instance believe that australian aboriginals have the exact same IQ potential as a Korean, even though they have been living seperate from other groups for ages. There is no plausible explanation for that. We have seen an increase in G intelligence as civilizations have developed from tribal communities to high information societies. Natural selection has been very active at times in history, and the belief that the rate of this increase and the factors that promote it have been EXACTLY the same in all geographical locations on this earth is simply a wild assumption to make.*****

    These guys are good students but they are not happy people. They had no childhood, no time to play with friends, no social abilities and sometimes they kill themselves because of bearing too much pressure to "succeed". Their parents think that if they earn a good salary they will have a happy life, which isn't true

    I don't think IQ is actually that important. My theory is that the main difference between average people and geniuses, is their emotional disposition towards academics. I think that since they enjoy the challenge and the rewards of learning something like mathematics, they are more likely to keep trying after they fail. And that they are also more likely to dedicate more of their free time to these pursuits.

    There are only a few Asians at my school, and I guess they weren't born anywhere in Asia (or their parents aren't traditional/stereotypical strict), and generally I have better grades than them in AP classes... I don't think it has to do with race. It has to do with parents, and the individual

Each race as a different distribution of the alleles (variations of a gene) that contribute to intelligence. If you compare this to somebody rolling a handful of 10-sided dice, but it isn't required that each dice have a face for each of the digits 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. Some races might be rolling dice with these numbers on their faces: 3,5,5,7,7,7,8,8,9,10. Another race might be rolling dice with these numbers: 1,1,2,2,4,5,7,8,8,9. This will make the averages of many rolls be different.

    I'm married to an Asian Engineer. He's not brilliant when it comes to school. In high school, he got straight As, but he STRUGGLED in University. His parents didn't 'Tiger Parent' him into doing better. Hell, he almost failed classes. I, meanwhile, am white, and was Dean's List first honors.

He is as big as some of the guys in porn!). White men do NOT have bigger dicks than Asian men, in general. The average penis size for all men is 5.3 inches... My husband happens to be 8 inches long (I once measured, to prove to him that he was big, because he didn't believe me when I said that he was hurting me sometimes... He just assumed that he wasn't big, because he was Asian. He thought he was average. I had to tell him that NO, he was NOT average, he was BIG, so he has to be careful!)     It boils down to competitiveness. Asia and most of its countries are under developed, people are poor. They have the drive and determination to succeed. While most people in west or the more developed countries are living off their predecessor's success, thus are more willing to stay 2nd since they don't worry much about their future.

      ***** Neanderthals had MUCH thicker bones than us, and heavier bones are related to larger muscle mass. Scientists seem to be intent on selling Neanderthal as just another indigenous tribe who joined the mainstream-in fact he was a 6ft 6in, 350lb NFL lineman squashed down to 5ft 5in. Not scaled down-squashed down. If he ever wore pants, Neanderthal's belt size would be 75in and it would be muscle, not fat. He was a walking tank. Though his brain was slightly larger than ours on average, he was so much bulkier that his brain mass to body mass ratio was lower than ours. Probably smarter than anything else, but still no match for Homo Sapien intellectually. But at least for awhile, his physical advantage prevented Homo Sapien from successfully going into Europe until 45,000 years ago.

This is about as creative as you can possibly get-starting from nothing and creating a projectile weapon to bring down much more game and feed a growing population with the result.
      25,000 years ago in the Congo Africans made the Ishango Bone, a tally stick which contains a column of prime numbers. Since the very concept of prime numbers means that both multiplication and division have been achieved, this means Africans invented basic mathematics far ahead of the Caucasian or Asian.
      Caucasians have had a nice run the last few thousand years, but by no means are they the only ones capable of creative thinking-that has been proven.

    no race is smarter than another. Its all about your will to succeed. study study study is key to academic success. asains don't do nothing but go home after school and hit books rather do actually challenge themselves by doing extra curriculars like having a part time job, being an athlete etc. If other races just went home to study I guarantee you Asians wouldn't dominate academically anymore. im an African American, taking ap bio ap calculus and ap literature as a junior in highschool. its all about how bad you want to succeed.

    In general, Asian people are naturally smarter. But it has to do with temperament too. Asian people are able to settle down and commit to tasks. White and black people, on the whole, are naturally restless and rebellious.

    You know, with tiger parenting the kids probably won't like you at first, but they'll probably say "It's because of my parents' push that I manage this" when they achieve something. And then after a while of pushing, your child would maybe be competitive enough by himself or at least adapt and accept it--especially if the child live in Asia for their childhood at least, so all the Asian stuffs would already be subconsciously rooted in you--then parents won't even need to push their child. Then, even when parents are not present, your child will still do well because...well, as I am Asian, for myself, before I even realise it myself, after so many good scores in my childhood because of my parents, I'll feel bad if I get bad scores and try to study harder by myself to score higher--because that's all I know how to do.

    Personally, as an Asian, I don't think that there's such a thing like an "intelligence superior" race. Honestly, everyone is born differently with different IQs and talents and it just depends on them to choose which one they's prefer to concentrate on polishing. I'm an Asian and I'm not half as smart as my friends from all kinds of different races. However, that doesn't mean that anything that and Asian achieve is due to their "hardworking nature". The hell is that? I've always been known for being lazy and still managed to score much higher than some people, and there are Asians out there that I know (I'm just gonna mention the Asians now, doesn't mean that these are things only Asians achieve) never even work at all and still get perfect scores. It's disturbing how there's an increasing number of people who believe that all Asians try hard, and no Asians are smart or talented, that they only got to where they are due to pure hard work. I can work a 1000 times harder and still won't get to where those Asians are. A lot of time, I found my other friends working much harder than my Asian friends (as I said not everyone, but it is the case for some. News flash! People!). To me being told "You're hardworking" is a compliment, but I found as time goes on, the term becomes more of an insult than a compliment. Why is that? And honestly, it's not just the study department, I've met a lot Asians who are so artistic (they can't do math for shit, so f*** you stereotypes) and much more talented than some others, yet they are always disregarded as being "hardworking." It's ridiculous to my eyes that some people would make excuses (and about other people on top of that) to explain their inabilities. If I'm stupid, I say that I'm stupid. If I'm not talented and can't play instruments, it's because I'm not talented and can't play instruments. It's not because I'm not as hardworking, or because my parents don't force me as much. My parents are Asian Asians, and I've never gotten pressured to achieve perfect score, in fact my mother always tells me to try hard, but not overwork myself. They don't even ask for my score report anymore after 7th grade. They don't care what I do, but I've never do anything to embarrass them. Why? Because that's just me, and I don't want to repay their love with sh*t. Sometimes, I do feel like some people just need to grow up, not excluding some Asians. It's fine to want to be more confident, but don't do so by bringing other people down.

      Yes, it is true. Working hard won't guarantee your academic achievement, but high IQ will help you achieve academic achievement a lot. Some people is rally smarter than others, when they work hard as well, then they will achieve something. People who are not that smart and not hardworking tend to find excuse for feeling equal to who achieved something.

    Intelligence is not something that is taught, it's either you have or you don't. You can increase by studying certain subject but not to the point getting a perfect score. It's like telling someone who has no athletic skill and only 5'5 and you tell him that he can play just like Michael Jordan and be able to make millions in NBA. Again, if you're '6'6 like Michael Jordan with athletic skill then you won't be like MJ no matter how discipline you are, just like intelligence if you're not born intelligent then you're going against upstream when trying to competing with people who are much much smarter than you in certain subjects.

MJ is and NEVER will be a good baseball player which he proved he wasn't and someone like you or me would NEVER be as great as MJ in basketball because NATURE has made it that way.

    Greetings and some very interesting views of the concept that Asians are smarter and with regard to the " Tiger Mom !" here is a fact- my wife is Korean- born and bread in South Korea- Im a Caucasian male and we have 2 sons together. Both of our sons graduated from University while the eldest learned he was so clever with math, he applied to and graduated from the Kelly School of Business... I remember when our sons were growing up, my wife did not want them in the public school system, so, our son attended private Catholic schools - why? focus on education. We both feared gangs and so, we both had 2 jobs to pay for our sons private education. Our sons also had all sorts of lessons on the weekends while growing up- including Piano, sax, guitar etc... Korean Martial Arts a must! My wife would also become very angry if our sons did not achieve all A's. We as parents stayed on them during their younger days- Are American parents as pro active as the " Tiger Mom " is? I am saddened to say that I dont think so! So, are Asian children smarter than the rest- no, i dont believe that to be the case, but they are certainly pushed harder...

      Question 1: Why do humans have brains?
      Answer 1: Because it's in our DNA to have them.
      Question 2: Where to people get their DNA from?
      Answer 2: From their parents.
      Question 3: And is it possible for people to have variations in their DNA that cause real differences in the makeup of their body, including their brain?
      Answer 3: Yes.
      Conclusion 1: It is possible to have variations in brain-function (of which said brain-function, intelligence is a result) based on DNA (your DNA traits being usually overwhelmingly mostly inherited from your parentsm, although a relatively tiny amount of non-inherited novel mutations are constantly occuring in individuals due to things like sunburn and potato chips).
      Conclusion 2: Therefore, it is possible to have lower or higher intelligence based on DNA
      Conclusion 3: Since an individual can have higher or lower intelligence based on ancestry (DNA), a group of people with the same ancestors (a familial group, a "race") can also have high or lower intelligence, based on their inherited DNA.
      Addition point 1: Even though all this is true, it is safest to judge individuals on individual merits, rather than those of their relatively close relatives (their cousins, their siblings, their parents, their "race").
      Additional point 2: Even if an individual has a low IQ, this does not necessarily prevent them from succeeding at life.
      Additional point 3: Even if am individual has a high IQ, this does not guarantee that they will succeed at life.

      By success, I was meaning personal satisfaction in life. Usually, this would involve adequacy of resources, good nutrition, good lifestyle, good friends, good stress management or low stress, etc.
      I certainly do not mean being exceptionally wealthy. By my measurement, a significant number of wealthy people would be counted losers (failures - look to the celebs, wealthy consumerists, wealthy individuals on their umpteenth partner, infighting in wealthy families, etc.).
      In addition, many wealthy people feel it is okay to massively hoard resources for personal use, even though many people languish for lack of resources (also for lack of a healthy culture). This can compromise the happiness of others, by denying them adequate resources. It might also be simpomatic of lack of empathy on behalf of the wealthy person.
      Some people are born with horrible conditions that will likely always compromise their satisfaction. However, a hell of a lot more can humanly make it than do currently.
      Of course modern hip hop minsterls were helped, by millions of people wanting to legally acquire their music - just like all capitalists, all people wanting to sell a product over which they have special legal power (ownership).

      Actually, free market capitalism pretty much necessarily dictates that massive inequality will occur, in this industrial age of massive resource consumption, globalization, and massive societies (USA has blimmin' 300 million people! That is a massive society).
      This is because we allow individuals to own important resources for means of production, such as land and factories, which forcibly prevents others from access to those resources (individual ownership=access denied to almost everyone on the planet, including the other people nearest to the resource), except on the terms dictated by the owners. Because some people have good resources for resource production, and others do not, the have-not's will tend to pander to the have's in order top surive; to do so, they will sell their lifetime (for example, 40 hours a week) to people who do have good resources for wealth production in the form of working a job (that they otherwise might not actually like to do - it often shows clearly that people hate their jobs; doing something you dislike 40 hours a week takes its toll).
      Of course, the job provider is opportunistic/selfish (who isn't), and wants to make a profit; the owner will therefore almost always pay the worker less value than the worker actually makes, keeping a cut for himself. If employing enough employees, the owner will be earning multiple people's wages, but not spending for multiple people. As such, he will be growing his wealth, allowing him to acquire even more means of production, and the cycle continues (as it currently is).
      Also, with much automated mechanized production these days, there is less need for (paid) workers, allowing the owner to earn even more.
      The end result of this cycle, if uninterrupted or unregulated, is pretty much serfdom, where the small aristocracy controls resource production, and everyone else has little choice but to pander to them. This tends to cause misery, which tends to cause civil unrest, as has happened multiple times throughout history.
      If history teaches us that authoritarianism in the forms of facism and communism (different rationals, but quite similar in their expressions of brutality towards the freedom of individuals and inequality) does not work well, it also teachs us that authoritarianism in the form of the super wealthy does not work well - many times over.
      If we did not recognize individual ownership of means of production, this would presumably not occur.
      That is why there is massive inequality in the world today.

      so again u cling to pointing out several losers among the rich... i could argue they hardly felt the pain knowing how rich they were! u can handle ALOT of trouble when rich: paying lawyers to take care of the trouble, moving, paying people off... money is a GREAT WAY to avoid trouble and leave it behind, like with divorce... look at all the poor together couples that can't afford to leave each other... NOT HAPPY!
      in any case my main point is that we should play the odds for a better future for all, which includes greater wealth and prosperity for us all! sadly capitalism leaves many good well intentioned people with great work ethic in the dust...
      actually higher IQ people have more empathy... so i'd add to your idea that FEAR is more an overriding principle for many wealthy beyond empathy and detaching yourself from your wealth as u give it away...
      the rich already "give" more than most as they pay more taxes, don't think this doesn't figure into their charity after that!
      - so i really don't know what level of wealth should be practically outlawed beyond which we have some crazy high tax rate, 90%+...
      - many jobs are attached to rolls royce, yachts and plenty of frivolous wealth spending... so there would also be a "blandification" of our consumerism at the top if we didn't allow obscenely wealthy people to exist, the best of jewelry, the best of ships, boats, planes, architecture, all going the way of the middle class in some commie redistribution...
      so how do we protect that level of the economy and tax them more? i don't know...

    If Asians are smarter then how come whites and specifically white males are responsible for 90% of human achievement and even though we have had 40 years of political correctness white males continue to dominate when it counts.
    Learning to regurgitate what you have been taught in class does show a high degree of intelligence and discipline and that is to be applauded but when it comes to actually applying that intelligence outside a learning envoirment then it's white males that are clearly the most intelligent people on the planet.
    Asians don't get discriminated in Asians countries but still can not compete an it's worth noting most of what these girls are learning is white man's creations.
    Asians tend to be very good copiers and that is not an insult but intelligence true intelligence isn't about copying others that came before.

      I am not Chinese and I don't like Chinese communist but face it Europeans were the leader in technology during 17xx-19xx through wealth from ill-gained resources. It has nothing to do with high IQ or intelligence. It is like saying I am smart because my ancestors were the greatest robber/murderer in the world. Now just about every new inventions came from American, Japan and Korean companies. Also progress tends to be exponential and not linear and we invent and discover more new things in the last 15 years than the last 10,000 years combined. Being smart alone is not enough to invent it also require resources. Given the same amount of resources and east Asians can invent more. That is why patents granted from china are growing exponentially and now rank at #3 behind Japan and US. European however dropped to fifth behind Korean. Imagine a small country like Korea invents more than the whole Europe combined. so much for USED TO BE intelligent white male.

      Just like the Chinese thought a thousand years ago that paper, gunpowder, compass, etc. represent the most important invention of humankind. Now the West believe those inventions for the last 200 years represent the pinnacle of human civilization.
      Let me tell you young man, gunpowder enable the West to conquer the Natives and enslave Africans, paper allows the West to spread and expand knowledge and Bible, and compass enable the European to navigate to the "unknown" world.
      Colonialism and conquering of the New World allow the West to reach critical mass to achieved Industrial Age and hence all the modern inventions.
      China is the RICHEST, most CIVILIZED, and most INNOVATIVE country in most of human history except the last 200 years when the West robbed, steal, and cheated China of her vast wealth accumulated for the last few thousands of years.
      Wealth from ill-gained resources enable the West to invent, and inventions created wealth... Nothing to do with high IQ. ALL your wealth and INVENTIONS are a result of your ancestor's ill-gained path to success.

    It's culture, it's determination, I was in school and decided that I would apply myself in astronomy to "be number one" of the class, it worked, top grades, finishing tests before all including Asians, it felt good to know that I could do this, what I lacked was focus and cultural background that would keep me on track.

There might be some correlation between IQ score and intelligence within members of a single society, or even between members of some different cultures. But there is no proof that it works worldwide among all, or even most cultures. IQ tests were controversial from the first, but that doesn't prevent some from waving these national IQ averages around like they mean something. Crazy.

If you are saying that Western living standards and tech progress prove Westerners are smarter than East Asians I would also have to disagree. No question that for the past 300 years or so the West, especially the Northern Europeans, were ahead of everyone else. But this has not always been the case, and at various times in history Northern Europe has been a backwater while the progress was made elsewhere.
      It is a mistake to look at this tiny slice of time in mankind's history, the past 300 years, and pronounce the leading group today as the smartest of all time.

You Korean only got taller cause you government giving you milk to drink sooner than us. Plus most of Vietnamese guy born in 1999-2000 I have met is height around 1,70m-1,89m they not as short as people from the older generation, and me is 1,76m. Looking at older Korean men 50-80, you will find they actually looking short than 18-40. You say us are black and tan, but you Korean was natural black and tan too.     I know people who scored top marks in their exams and they never came across as being truly smart (being able to improvise and do something they haven't studied for), only very well motivated. I believe that motivation, in the form of parental pressure, is what makes Asians stereotypically smarter.

    This interview is a ridiculous one though --- I'm a professor teaching business Bachelor degree using English only as teaching medium at well know Chinese University -- there's not much difference overall in the classes I teach (tax law my main specialty) -- you have outstandingly intelligent students, right down to very poor standard, same as in any Western University. I think however, that after 12 years of school, Western students (first year University) are more equipped to figure out unexpected analytical/logical/reasoning questions in exam papers, not directly covered during year/semester, than Chinese students -- this is not due to any lesser ability by Chinese students, but due to their over-exaggerated emphasis on volume and memorising for the gaokao prior to University (and in fact over their entire lives until then, starting with 3 years old).
    This balance does get fixed after they enter University, though it has to be said that China Universities pretty much carries on that school tradition of teaching and studying at the Bachelors level.
    However, these Chinese students do go out and get Master degrees at overseas Universities after graduating with Bachelors degrees on the Mainland, so there's no lesser ability ultimately due to the school system, but there is certainly a gap to overcome.
    So the moral of this whole story is this : There is absolutely zero benefit in driving your children, as in China, from 3 years old until 18, to memorise massive amounts of information, retaining little knowledge, and neglecting original and creative problem solving skills, leaving very little time for creative brain development, sport, social interaction etc -- as Western school children ends up pretty much on the same level after 12 years of school, in fact, even better prepared for University undergraduate study, due to different brain development --- less memorising, more focus on understanding and solving, than memorising volumes of information.
    School years (including pre-school) should be about overall development of the mind in all its facets, not as one-dimensional as most of the Chinese school system produces. Fortunately it is a feather in the cap of Chinese students that they have the ability and tenacity to overcome that lack, once they are confronted with it at postgraduate level.

    They're not smarter. They are very well disciplined. One being that many Asian parents migrated to the states in search of a better life. Because they never had the luxury and the opportunities, they want their kids to have every opportunity and to succeed. Asian parents push harder and are more strict, but it's for a good reason I believe so. Statistically showing they are academically more intelligent than than the rest. People say " Oh he's so smart because he's Asian" its not really the case. Its because of discipline. Historically you can go back and see that the Chinese, the Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese were very disciplined people. It can be traced centuries. If you want it bad enough like these parents and kids you can most certainly achieve it. Its all about discipline.

      IQ tests are vastly overrated. Subsaharan Africans, supposedly the bottom of the totem pole in IQ tests, invented the spear thrower 30,000 years before either the European or the Asian. As this invention enabled the user to kill game from 40 yards away, it vastly increased the food supply and the chances of survival for the entire tribe. Yet Eurasians didn't pick it up for tens of thousands of years.
      Additionally, Nubians were building large buildings and cities while Europeans and East Asians were still living in small villages. This fact does not necessarily make the European or Asian inferior to the African, for various conditions must exist before civilizations can flourish. But it does make it impossible to argue for European/Asian superiority in intelligence.

    If Asians are so smart, why have they not been able to have 1 Isaac Newton? Arguably considered to be the greatest scientist that has lived.

      Have you learned anything regarding Asia? If you're raised in the Western world, which is dominated by white people, of course you're only going to hear about achievements made by white people. They are the majority and have always had a higher position in society in the past, and therefore only they would have access to the best education and other things that led them to their intellectual breakthroughs. If you learned the least bit about Asian history you would know that civilizations in China existed long before any European settlement.

      I have some knowledge of Asian history and truth be told, while their past accomplishments were impressive for their time, they have been surpassed by Western nations since the European Renaissnce. Almost all the great scientists and artists are European lineage. Open up any academic subject and it's an European and his descendants that are at the forefront of that discipline.       lorenzodemedici1 Asians had an amazing success in the past (inventing gunpowder, agriculture, paper-making...to list a few), but you're right, they suck for the last ~1200 years or so because of dictators.
      It's really sad how only a few single handful of men could easily squash the productivity of an entire civilization.
      Europeans were lucky enough (by chance, almost) to quickly get rid of their dictators, so they were free to develop great intellectual minds.
      The Asians were not lucky enough to shrug off the dictators, and tha'ts the problem - dictators want to keep people dumb so they are easier to rule. They don't encourage intelligence. Do you know that the first Emperor of China who unified the entire China burned books to keep citizens dumb? Not just a particular set of books...but EVERY SINGLE BOOK. He wanted to keep the people illiterate!
      If history had been different without that one motherfucking dude...i'm sure u'll be looking at a very different picture today!

Look at the top graduate schools in America and Europe - they are pretty much dominated by asians. Asians outcompete Europeans and the whites for grad school entrance cuz they score higher on the exams and work harder to earn the publications necessary for entrance. So maybe in the end - 100 years from now, u'll see asians dominating the world!

    If everyone calculate what they been doing with their time then it is very clear as to why people are doing better then other in education, careers, wealth, and life. If you take a baby from the stones age and give them the same education, same motivation, have them occupy on the same thing at the same amount of time and effort, you would get the same result. It has nothing to do with been smarter. As human we only use 10% of our brain capacity. Some people want to use a little more and some just choose not to use their brain at all. hehe

    I have a lot of respect for the Asians but I dont think Asians are smarter, they just work harder than most other people. Culture plays a huge role. Asian kids dont waste their time with sports, hobbies, socializing or having relationships, they have a single focus to study hard. The Asian culture regards education highly and parenting is strict . Asians are generally humble and want to please their parents. Asian countries are great at manufacturing things, but most of those things were designed in the west. The only area Asian cultures are a little behind is in the way of new inventions, or new discoveries. Not many scientific discoveries come out of Asia, like medical discoveries, cures for diseases or new technologies etc.

    Asians were dominating and leading over the world for thousands of years.
    Actually the word "Asia" means "The land of Gods". Europeans called them so.

    Nomadic asians were the first people on Earth, who domesticated the horse, and till the 19-20th century the horse was the main and the only economical, transport and war power in all the countries of the world!
    Asians were the first people, who invented the metallurgy, used for making different stuff for horses - harness, stirrups, swords, arrows. First heavy armor and cavalry were invented by asians. Even first boots with the heels were invented by asians for holding in the stirrups, and the pants were invented by asians for riding too. Europeans didn't know the pants before they met asians. European men and women wored only same skirts. The ancient greek fairytails about centaurs were based on the impressions of europeans by seeing the asian warriors riding the horses. And those centaurs in legends were very smart, powerfull, and they teached the wild europeans many things.
    Asians created the most great empire of the mankind - the Mongol Empire, which included almost the whole eurasian continent from japanese see till the Hungary and Austria. Mongols respected all religions, free society, international tradings, equal human rights, free access to education, invented diplomatic rules etc. - all that stuff were the basis of our modern world.
    So europeans used many asian inventions.
    But asians never had slaves, and europeans in contrast brought millions of slaves from Africa to work for them. So they have got easily reach, had many free time for science and travelling.       While I do agree with you to a certain extent, the only reason your able to rattle off such names is because you grew up in a westernized culture. Ask any native chinese person the same question and they can very well do the same. Its really the same case with the jews. All you really have to do is look at two things: diet and family values. Look at what jews eat and compare it with asians. Lean protein, healthy carbs, plenty of vegetables. Look at similarities in family values. Parents typically work hard for there children so all the children's mental energies can be spent studying. Add a little parental guilt/pressure and national pride and you got a recipe for success.

      *****- What you said is a "moronic myth". We are all born as equals, as babies. Heredity has little or no bearing on your intellect, intelligence, or even physical athletic abilities. It's all learned and practiced as you grow older, and it's all derived from only one thing: Discipline. Another thing that plays a big role however is opportunity. Saying that "East Asians are naturally smarter than blacks, browns, and whites", only shows your total and complete ignorance. Whites could have, and did say that they were naturally smarter than all other races, and it was true. It had little or nothing to do with race though. They simply had opportunity and an infrastructure and educational system which allowed higher learning. They had built and propagated a system of higher learning, technology, and artistic endeavors. So they were naturally more cultured and more civilized as they evolved. They were racist at the same time, holding back other races; colonizing their countries, and stealing their natural resources, (including labor and human resources). Asians have simply emulated western ways, and had the common sense to recognize that Europeans had centuries of practical and technological innovation, education, and experience. Beyond that, the Asian culture from a young age teaches hard work and discipline. So now a natural progression has evolved of opportunity, and taking full advantage of it.

      *****- I won't disagree with your point, except to say that the vast majority of Olympians are White. If there were other races who pursued, or were given the opportunity, or persuaded from a young age to compete in other sports (than Basketball,
      Football etc.), you would see a more racially diverse range of athletes in Olympic competition. That is true especially of the Winter Olympics. In the Summer Olympics though, you see many more Black athletes. It's important to note, where they both come from. That is the primary reason. Black athletes compete and are competitive in primarily the sports and events they did and might have done in their homeland of warm sub-Saharan Africa. Whereas whites excel at Winter sports because those are the sports they play were they come from, i.e. the wintery snow and ice of Scandinavia, Russia, Europe, Canada, and the Northern U.S.
