vanguard sound didnt do all of pgr ost either it had many ost done by haloweak as well which is if im not mistaken the only studio doing wuthering waves ost atm edit: the production studio is still vanguard sound studios but the composer is haloweak
Really? I thought Haloweak is a part of Vanguard Sound crew and I don't think Haloweak is the main composer of Wuwa. I think most ost as of now are made by Anti-General as we haven't seen them making ost for PGR for a very long time
@@SmolPetals read the edit portion. haloweak is current composer for everything for ww currently atleast as far as ive been able to gather from google. as the only thing ive been able to find just mentions haloweak
@@MrBentalton777 it's because Haloweak did flow which was Wuwas previous main theme. This OST is just Kuro's in house music team. And I believe what you are referring to who did a lot of the PGR OST initially was just the in house team. But as time progressed VGS did take the head seat in producing the music. And funnily enough that's when PGR to me became a game I remember for the music lol.

I genuinely really really think that people arent realizing that it is only taking this long to farm echo xp is because of the low world level. while I dont agree that it should be happening, I do genuinely believe that once we get a higher union level, we will start getting much more relevant xp drops. keep in mind we werent getting decent xp and artifacts in genshin until ar45 and cahracters were hard to keep up with leveling early in most other gachas aswell. I truely believe that once we ACTUALLY hit the endgame and not just the 1.0 endgame, we will be getting enough to upgrade stuff consistently
@@satisfaction8242 We do get faster stamina regen at one every 6 min as opposed to one every 8 min, but I agree something like a cost of 40 would feel better. Using 1/4 of you stamina feels heavy.
Yeah, we are just being bottlenecked since there's not enough exp from side quest that pushes us pass ul 30 besides dallies . I hope more content drops soon to help with that plateau from ul 30-40.
You are 100% wrong, echo xp acquisiton won't increase that much at all, not to mention that we are literally months away from ar45. They need to let we feed echoes for xp, or convert echoes into xp material.
The biggest plus for WuWa echoes over HSR/Genshin relics/artifacts is that there are less layers of RNG. Farming for the initial piece is already better since WuWa is free while Genshin is not, but on top of that, getting a main stat is all you have to think about for WuWa. In HSR/Genshin, you can get those main stats, but those main stats don't matter AT ALL if the subs are bad. If you think about goblets/orbs on top of that, it adds layers on layers of RNG that ruin everything. And that's just farming the base artifact. Substats are next. For WuWa, you never once think about whether the piece is 3 line or 4 line. They're all the same, so no RNG there, but HSR/Genshin has the 3/4 line issue. If you get a 3 line and you use it, you have to hope that the last stat matters, and they ARE NOT EQUAL CHANCE to hit. Crit stats and speed are rarer than others, and that is a fact. The completely worthless stats are the most common. The rarity of the stats may be true for WuWa, but I don't know yet. There are more useful substats in WuWa as well. Every character will be able to benefit at least slightly from basic attack damage because you have to build up concerto for intro/outro, but if you flip that to HSR/Genshin, there are tons of substats that just aren't useful for some characters. Sometimes a rare substat is completely useless for a character, like EM, and the flat stats are garbage in each game (except at very early game where it doesn't matter). Leveling RNG is next. In WuWa, if you want to maximize your efficiency, you unlock a substat and tune it to see if you want to keep it. That is less resources if you count them 1-to-1 (yes, they're real stingy on the resources right now, hopefully they fix that, but for the sake of RNG comparison, let's count 1-to-1). In HSR/Genshin, the substats are already there, AND it took you longer to get that piece. Now you have a 25% chance to get the roll you want, at best. You can deal with worse ones SOMETIMES, but it's a common occurrence that a piece can be COMPLETELY BRICKED on its rolls AFTER farming for so long to get that "good" piece. I farmed Ashblazing/Prisoner in HSR for 6 months, DAILY, and I have ONE piece with double crit, and I got zero rolls into either crit stat when I leveled it. In WuWa, I don't have to stare at those stats that I want and hope to hit them, I just get the stat or I don't, and I know early if I want to keep the piece. WuWa DESTROYS HSR/Genshin on equipment leveling. It's not a perfect system at all, and I still think there's too much randomness, but it's a vastly superior system still.
One thing about the resource “stinginess” we are not at true endgame yet. Like I’m genshin and star rail there is the point where you **can** get 5 star artifacts/relics and the point where you **should**. Once we reach account level 40 or 50 most of these resource problems should disappear as they do in most games
@@ShinyRISthe thing is that it depends on how can we get more tuners because currently the only way to get more is through chest. So if they introduce a way to get it things should be fjne
It just feels really weird that we spend wave blades on echo leveling materials in a quest but it's not something that currently exists in the game. Echo exp is a premium currency right now, I literally can't level up my echoes enough to even deal with tuner RNG
Broooo i love mistahfeet content So my one gripe is that fact that dailt energy cap is yer again a thing and one thing genshin has mathematically is more reward per energy per day. Engine wise unreal is superior specially ue5 I also dont understand the forced trial mc because by that point my own mc was twice the power 🤷🏻
I think they did it that way because they wanted people to make sure that theirs were leveled but I’m in the same boat cuz I’ve ignored calcharo and only leveled Verina and I’ve just used rover
I think the story would have benefited greatly from using those big exploration quests for each area and incorporating them as actual story quests. The way the story is now feels so flat until you reach the end.
Personal opinion here: Combat: Wuthering Waves wins. Of course. World design: Genshin wins here. Story: I haven't finished WuWa's story yet (too busy trying to level data bank) so I can't really say much yet. I will say though, WuWa's script is REALLY damn rough. Even if the story itself is better than Genshin's, Genshin's dialogue and writing flows better and is easier to understand/read. Character Design: Genshin wins here too. Of course, WuWa just started, so it has a much smaller cast, so it could overcome this given time, but I genuinely love Genshin's characters. Character Models: WuWa has higher quality models, even if I think the design of Genshin's characters are better. Music: Genshin wins this easily. Exploration: WuWa is way easier to traverse, and that makes the "act" of exploring more fun. I think Genshin has a better world, but WuWa's is better to run around in. Energy management: I hate to say this, but as it stands right now, I think Genshin kinda wins here. I can at least convert extra energy into condensed resin if I don't feel like playing that day. Also, WuWa feels really shitty with mat farming atm. Regular bosses sharing the same redemption cost as weeklies feels really bad. Conclusion: I think WuWa is more fun to play, but I genuinely think that Genshin is the better game. Although, I really hope WuWa really kicks Genshin in the ass, and get's Hoyo to really re-evaluate their approach to Genshin. It would not kill them to be more generous. It would not kill them to give us more quality of life. I personally really like both games, and I hope the competition makes both games reach new heights.
@@chai2226 WuWa is not competing with 2020 Genshin, it is competing with 2024 Genshin. Stop this bullshit "it's so unfair to compare to a 4 year old game". WuWa had the blueprint, it had the playbook as Fob put it and it did fuck-all with it.
@@alexmei21 womp womp sureness but im not even gonna bother with you i see you reply to every positive things about wuwa and u seem really mad about it too 😂
Thank Fob for bringing up Nikke. Good game. Edit: We need to talk about how farm the ore for craftable weapons is terrible. The drops and spawns of the ore to the insane resources needed for it is insane.
I respect your opinion totally, but idk for me it went pretty well. There’s two types of ores that a craftable weapon could need, and over 150 individual spawning spots for each, with Scarletthorn having ~154 spots and Indigoite having ~228 spots. Regarding the two other ore types (not used for weapons) Lampylumen has only ~62 spots so I could see a need for an increase there, but Floramber has ~578 spots. So for how many spots there are for each type of ore needed for a weapon, I think the amount it takes to craft one is pretty good. A casual could probably get one per week, since they probably can’t dedicate almost an hour of their day to running around farming ore. I got this info from the Wuthering Waved Interactive Map by the Genshin Interactive Map website, in case you want to check. And since I have followed it to farm these ores before, I can confirm that they’re correct, and may even be missing one or two. I farmed Sword#18 for Danjin all in one day, and it only took me about an hour, maybe less. Maybe each ore you break only drops one, but as long as they have a decent refresh rate it’s totally plausible to max out a craftable weapon within a month, probably less. I don’t know about their respawn times, so maybe that is an issue. I hope I didn’t come off as rude or offensive here, I just wanted to share my opinion. I hope you have a great day!
2:20:26 That's what I noticed as well. In the micro level, WW's Act I-III is slow and meandering. But in the macro level, the general narrative is moving forward way faster than Genshin's. What Genshin took more than two years to reveal, WW took only a single patch and it still feels grounded to the main plot, that is, the rover recovering his memories. So far in WW, it's already revealed that some TD's were once human in the story teller's cutscene. That took years in Genshin just to reveal that when we met Lumine in the Chasm. It's already revealed that we share the same pattern of actions as a traveler years ago. The world quests also reveals more relevant lore, like when you do the Mourning Aix quest which is probably one of the best world quest in WW. WW's main quest remains grounded. It gelt that it's about me, the rover, discovering myself and engaging with the world. Like when we absorbed that changli looking pet. In Genshin, the only relevant lore and story progression are the questions we get to ask after the archon quest and when we meet deinsleiff again. To cut it short. So far WW's writing knows that the story revolves around us, the rover. In Genshin they forgot that we're looking for our sibling. Both games will visit various regions, but WW doesn't make the quest about theregion alone but also about you. I remember when Aether's only contribution in the Liyue quest is to stick a dull blade on the jade chamber. The traveler felt like a side character. The rover felt like the protagonist. As for environmental design, WW's dynamic environment is something I've seen so few in Genshin (Tsurumi, forgot the other) and even more better. The desorock lands, the banyan tree, the port city, the diverse environment is absolutely insane. WW's skybox spoiled tf out of me.
That’s my main gripe with the genshin stories the main character is never the main character. The game feels like a side quest with no actual plot progression other than THE very end of each archon quest with them losing a gnosis and moving on to the next region, my opinion means less because I quit just after doing sumeru quest due to just hating the story from liyue to inazuma. Also idc how “good” fontaines story was, i heard it start super slow and that was enough to fully drop the game, considering i haven’t liked its direction.
@@Glxrp Exactly! To be fair, I think Fontaine's archon quest is the best archon quest in Genshin but then again it follows the same Genshin route of it having nothing to do with you. The MC not getting involved isn't bad per se I just hope stories like this get the MC more involved. Spoiler alert, but Fontaine's archon quest is basically a retelling of the story of the christian messiah. So yeah, Jesus Christ himself. It's nothing revolutionary. As for WW, have you finished Yinlin's quest? Because even on that story quest, the narrative is consistent with you trying to recover your memories while helping Yinlin. This is also the first time I've seen an open-world gacha that nailed the femme fatale trope and makes you doubt if she really is an ally or not. Even Yelan's quest was so underwhelming compared to Yinlin's. Also, in Genshin, it feels like you're literally just forced into a story quest. Now, I think that WW will eventually do the same, but still, it's great to see it as it lasts. As long as WW follows the PGR route with its story-telling and world-building, there's nothing to worry about. PGR started slow and meandering as well, with early chapter foreshadowing later chapters. Or "filler quests" still being relevant to the grander narrative. We shall see. I hope they don't lose direction.
@@hijodelsoldeoriente Thanks for letting me know about the Wuwa Character quests! I've been putting them off just in case they do any voice overhauls in the future. I've been wanting to do it but am holding off. I personally like how wuwas story is progressing and i firmly believe that allowing the VAs have freedom and better direction can really change the overall reception of its story. I also hope they delve into the darker stories such as encores background (PV trailer), Dan Jins psyche, Jiyans self doubt and his relationship with geshu, and i hope they expand on yinlins character and have her be undercover sometimes throughout the story it would be a good narative if they go towards that direction IMO
Or similar concepts i hope they step away from the everyone loves the rover concept tbh, I really liked seeing the CBT 1 storyline and having to gain the trust of the people after performing feats literal monsters do in this world.
100% loved all his takes. so many people are overly hyped about the free 5* thing but we have to remember HSR also did it and they barely had any launch issues iirc. like fob said, they HAD to. it's not generosity, they genuinely HAD to give you something big because of the huge backlash on the CN side
I love wuwa for all its user friendly features it has in terms of rewards free pulls, gacha system, combat system, etc... i am just really worried that after reaching a certain union level or whatever most end game will become reliant on the dmg numbers, of course dodging and parrying is a cool mechanic but i just hope that they will keep the end game difficult and make ennemies witb specific mechanics that force you to use character abilities, dodging, parrying, etc....
I think it will always relly on damage if it wants to stay f2p/low spend friendly, they can make hard content that uses that mechanics and stuff , but whales will just steamroll through it with sheer numbers, and if they make it hard for the whales , f2p players cannot even dream of completing it. They can implement mechanics like an unbreakable shield that you HAVE to parry a certain amount of times to break to trigger a damage window or an enemy with 90% DMG reduction but dodging and counter attacking break the shield so you can go HAM on him.
I play it with japanese audio...female rover voice is awesome. BTW: Shinya was an awesome guest. He knows so much about the subject, he can talk a lot and it's not boring, coz he knows what he's talking about.
I think the wuthering waves and genshin player bases are more differentiated than these guys think. Of course there's overlap, maybe even a majority overlap, but at least for me I never had any interest in genshin whatsoever. I don't care about breath of the wild, I don't care about genshin. I played genshin for five minutes and quit and never came back. Everything about it is just so bright and paper thin. There's nothing there for me. I'm an elden ring, used to be star craft, dragons dogma, bg3 kind of player. WW is way more my style. I like combos and dodging and developing characters and boss battles that actually hold my attention. Surely there's a significant portion of players that never cared about genshin that are intrigued by ww. I think these guys are just perspective twisted because they all spent so much time in genshin they assume most other people had the same game trail they did.
LOL you know the Chinese ToS from early stage WW actually had miHoYo written in the lines (copy pasted the terms and missed out on changing). Players from Genshin is what the devs of WW expected, not the players. Every control, UI, quest layout, domain layout, resource/ gear system, reward system and even cash shop, battle pass rewards and monetizing system was copied from Genshin or Honkai Star Rail. Of course Genshin didn't invent everything, but when they check all the boxes, you don't need rocket scientists to figure out it's either they are just too lazy to come up with anything of their own or they felt justified that it will help Genshin players seamlessly understand how the game works. Now, the case would be different for outside China, and I do believe that it will be more diverse than from China because the cuter art style from Genshin appeals less to westerners, but nonetheless, everything from WW screams that the devs were targeting Genshin players.
@@シウ-o1x There was a screenshot of WuWa's early UI placements of everything. It's much closer to Punishing Gray Raven's UI. Unfortunately, it's form over function so they ditched it and the new one is a lot more similar to Genshin.
Same I've played sekiro, elden ring, nioh 2, armored core 6, etc and used to be a WoW player a decade ago. Tried Genshin for a day but the movement was so slow and shitty that I quit. Wuwa is way more like a proper action game. Helps that dupes of characters aren't required to unlock their full kit it's just number changes unlike Genshin where they unlock entirely new abilities.
@@vjbd2757 And why is that the case? Because in programming it's easier so start with an existing project as a template rather than starting off blank. But I would say that the overwhelming similarity of the end product might probably be Tencent urging them to do so, since that has always been Tencent's way. PGR's menu layout was similar to Girl's Frontline but you could tell they wanted it to feel different, definitely not the case for WW, the art style similarity seems intentional, even down to the use of coloring.
I feel like SipSipStefen might have pushed the story too hard so he was already fed up with it by the time it got better. So all enjoyment he might have had already went out the window because he was already in a bad mood when he started xD Anyway, I think Act 6 really does lay the foundation for what we're asking for in most gacha games: the "show don't tell" part, because there's a war, so of course there is a lot more people fighting than just you, and in WuWa that is the case. There's an army of monsters attacking in waves, so every step of the way you have to fight through a horde of monsters. Which also happens to reduce the dialogue in Act 6 and instead replaces it with a lot of gameplay segments which honestly every game should do, because that's what we're here for: the gameplay. The story is nice, but it's a GAME, it's meant to be an INTERACTIVE story and that's what most games fail at. So if they use Act 6 as a basis for future story updates that would be an extremely good starting point
Favourite episode yet! This one was so much fun to watch, not a dull moment once. Did not know Stephen was going to be on this one but i'm so glad he was i love his content! such a chill episode i loved it and some varied opinions which is always great to see!
You know what gonna keep me up whole night.... Tectone's love and hate relation with genshin sometimes it makes me think if you're sponsered by hoyo to hate genshin and prise star rail to let topic never die 😂😂
at 1:38:43 about the Echo Xp I do not think this will be an issue over the long term. IN THE SHORT TERM this will sting badly if you have 4 or 5 golden echoes ON MAIN STAT ready to be leveled up, but in the long term you can just feed your old piece to the new piece at a relatively high effeciency of EXACTLY 75% (tested myself) You need to deal with the crappier substats in the early game as you round out all your teams and then do min maxing later after you have a bigger well of xp to drain from.
Also the echo exp is kind of a shaky thing to adjust, I feel like tacet fields really need a buff on how much you get, but because you can farm infinite echos, being able to use those as exp isnt really fair when you think about it from a gacha company prospective
Remember we are only account level 30’s the amount we get from that should go up as we level because we are definitely in the mid game character progression wise
@@Hoontarius it’ll probably only get to the point we don’t need to worry about it anymore at 50 or 60 and remember getting a set of perfect echos is the end endgame after you do that you would have no reason to do anything
@1:38:00 I love what Shinya is saying here, too many people want to have end-game level builds when the game was released less than 10 days ago... I mean, what are you going to do if you already have the gear for level 90s when you're barely 60? what are you going to do when you reach level 90? Like seriously, other than try-hards and content creators, the casual majority is still learning the game...
1:24:42 1000% Agree. Star Rail has so much more QoL that they learned from Genshin. Why do I have to teleport to synthesize? Why can't I do it in my menu? Why are boss domains 60 energy instead of 40 like HSR? Why do I have to manual change the time in game? It's not fun, it's annoying and just takes up my time. They did a great job with movement speed, skip function, and gacha banners, but didn't do the homework thoroughly.

The blues and purple aren’t an issue you can just merge them. What gacha game allows you to increase the rarity of a purple relic to a gold relic. How is that a complaint for wuwa but not hsr or genshin
What made you get tired of genshin, " I got tired of the grinding , in wuthering waves it is fun" , nahhh, the first couple weeks of genshin was top notch. Nobody was complaining about grinding, they wanted more resin. I do enjoy this game overall more than genshin, but in 3 years I will probally be tired of it just like genshin. It's inevitable.
@@alexmei21It's insufferable even now. Just farming for 3-cost Echoes can take up to 30-60min and you're not even guaranteed to get the right mainstat. Rinse and repeat daily? Yeah, that's getting old fast.
i always find it funny people saying "artifact grinding in genshin was tiring and in wuwa its so much better", like legit people are only saying that cause it feels different. Just compare your opinion 6 days in vs 6 months in. I would love to be proven wrong and see Kuro making it repeatable and not as repetetive as Genshin but the outlook seems grim.
I'll say the same thing I said for genshin release: people complain cause you're PLAYING TOO MUCH. Not everygame is meant to be played 5+ hours a day lol. There are dungeons that can drop echo sets at a higher rate and as your union level/dB rank go up, it gets easier. In genshin you couldn't even get 5star arts until adventure rank 45+. Just be patient :l this is a LongForm game, just like Genshin. Just because you CAN farm mobs for a chance at a perfect echo, doesn't mean you SHOULD right now. The content ain't going anywhere lol. Be patient, use your waveplates intelligently, you'll eventually get there, just like genshin. It's the same thing. Problem is burnout is faster in Wuwa cause you're farming for that Chance whereas in genshin you blow stamina then log out lol.
My option loving wuthering waves gave me those feeling back when I first played genshin my biggest grip is the stability and performance, it unimaginable laggy, slow and stutters every 3 seconds, take 30 mins just to get into game I hope they fix it, and the countless sound and music and sound issues, and the voices, they sound so bored and disinterested, genshin at the start ran smoothly and had great voice actors, stories for both was meh but it the beginning, I like you can skip stuff in wuthering
Genshin ran better but it didnt run entirely smoothly either, otherwise agree. That said JP VA is indeed a lot better in comparison, altho its not amazing either this time around. (genshin's JP VA was amazing)
They optimized the game a lot, my 4th gen i5 system without a dedicated gpu runs the game at 30 fps compared to not being able to run at all back at launch. I mainly play at max settings on my phone tho.
legit. the best way to fix this resource issue with echoes, would be letting the ones you equip earn exp from overworld mob kills. so even if you get a echo with the right mainstat, go kill a few mobs or something to get that first 2 lines naturally, tune it, if its crap now you can feed it. or you can just like level an echo up once from mob killing to basically turn it into fodder. cause realistically what else are you going to do when farming echos since they are the relics.
1:45:37 If anything WuWa also has a ton of trash stats to roll. A character like Jiyan won't give a rats ass about normal attack damage bonus, because it is 8% of his damage, and a 20% bonus to 8% is 1.6%, might as well get flat defense and be more tanky at that point, same for resonance liberation damage, which he does 0 because it is all considered heavy attacks. Only good stats to roll are ATK%, Heavy attack bonus, CritR/CritD with maybe 1-2 rolls into energy recharge to keep your rotation quick. Every other stat that can roll is trash stat meaning you only want to be hitting 4-5 out of 13 possible substats, so around 30% of stats are good. Meanwhile in Genshin you usually want 4 out of 10 possible substats on characters, so the ratio of good to bad stats is pretty much the same
I quit Genshin over a year ago and MistahFeet is quite literally the ONLY Genshin CC I still watch to this day. I'm not going to count Xlice or Zy0x cause I only watch them when they play WuWa or HSR. MistahFeet the only mf that can make watching content of that game enjoyable. Glad he's here!
This was a great dialog between people with different mindsets and agendas ... plus everyone was grounded enough to be okay with hearing different povs without getting offended
was probably the best gacha cast you've done, everyone was good at talking and giving points and backing them up with their own logic. banger episode bro.
I struggle to open the client every day lol. When i log on, i stutter for the first 5 minutes so i just do dailies and then hopefully by then it runs normally enough to spend my waveplates. And yeah i did the launcher trick with the application or whatever, for some reason it doesn't work for me and I'd have to open the launcher manually and then click wuthering waves through there. Every other option just creates a KR version of wuthering waves on my task manager that i'd have to close and open the epic games launcher again anyways.
Tectone asking whether you like genshin or wuwa more and only asking for explanations for those that said genshin is hilarious. You could tell some of the CCs here wanted to say Genshin but didnt want confrontation from Tectone.
Story wise, the only game which has stimulated my mind and made me theorycraft was HSR, specifically Penacony. There were tons of foreshadowing and intrigue. I definitely don't play Wuwa or GI for the story, if they were in webnovel form nobody would read that shit, except maybe a much abbreviated Fontaine short story.
I am free to play and have both yinlin, jiyan AND THEIR SIGNITURE WEAPONS, i have cleared all content in the game and i can confidently say. You do not need to spend money, there are enough ressources in the game to get up to 4 5 stars of your choice, essentially you can get a E5 character if you wish to.
2:17:16 definitely agree here, genshin has its problems but that 4 items was horrendous I did not give a fuuuuuck but was super invested in the genshin piece because it was more of a discovery, wuwa kinda moved in that direction once it hit scar though I think Also definitely think the end inazuma main quest was the greatest it ever felt, haven't done Fontaine yet but sumeru overall was better but nothing would best that ending after Signora
Oh the Lingyang story quest… I finished the domain and dialogue but had to suddenly close the game Came back and none of it was saved, had to hustle through the thing all over again
PS5 console release version is the biggest drawback of the game right now. If they had PS5 version of the game the playerbase playing the game would be greatly increased. Plus the game will run so smoothly on my PS5 plus we have really good internet connection so good gameplay!

The lore is interesting and there are a lot of interesting questions to explore in all of them, and the worlds are very cool. The actual dialogue and character interactions written into these worlds however are very low brain cell count. Everything is spelled out (sometimes repeatedly just to make sure), unnecessarily wordy and very low impact. Also the concept of “show don’t tell” doesn’t seem to exist in either of these games. @@MegaMrASD Agreed. Everyone says genshin's story was so much better but I found both to be mediocre AT BEST. At least Genshin threw less technobable at us in that first hour I guess, becuase that first hour of wuwa was terribad and they really need someone to explain to them that the first hour or two should be some of your best work not your lore dump.
I really hate the 3 years old genshin vs just released WuWa argument, kuro have like 3 years to learn what not to do etc, if you enter the market late then be prepared to be judged with the major existing product its like im creating a new OS for a computer competing against Windows 11 in the industry, but these people keep saying "hey Microsoft have like 20 years+ advantage can't compare" like no shit you dont say, that doesn't mean i can just create an underwhelming product as a first impression and then avoid criticsm or hate for it like cmon its common sense also Fob is the GOAT here lmao 🤣
The main character(Rover/Traveler) should be able to equip any weapon and inherit the basic moveset. That way he could assume the role of whatever character class you lack in your roster. Jack of all trades but master of none.
I have a feeling that Wuwa's 1.0 is maybe just the prologue to the actual story. They could have definitely done a better delivery and pacing, but it gives me a feeling that everything we experienced until act 6, was just a prologue. Like not just the "intro to the game" which it obviously is, but more like the intro to the whole story. Like they lore dumped you waking up, you not having memories, the world is in the brink of war with these monsters, you meet scar and don't know wtf he talking about, everyone seems to want you and you have no idea why. I think if we put ourselves in their world as the main character, you can see what mood they're going for better. You don't get the time of peace and the time of build up that Genshin had in the beginning. The world is dark, it's post apocalytpic. They're not holding our hand. I actually think the way they presented the whole "trying to get your memories back" was done pretty well. We know as little as the mc does about themselves.
I feel like the truly important thing is to prepare for their anniversary. Sure, features like UI customization would be nice, but the major money will come from anniversary preparation. Honkai Star Rail taught us the sheer power of having a good anniversary. How to match? Main point: make story progress come with significant echoes amounts to farm and actual gameplay in general to get through. Echoes are compared to pokemon, a franchise that has half a lifetime of succes. It also has 200-500 pokemon available to get. Echoes have shiny hunts and farm ability to them too, with battle pass connections. Thereby, more Echoes means more battle passes bought and playtime. Meaning more money. Dropping a half as good star rail story patch with a ton of echoes to farm along with free 5-stars would increase playerbase size, retention, and desire to spend money after having proved themselves. They can't beat star rails story, genshin graphics (pretty close though like it's way more eye friendly honestly, just want more than two points), or pokemons entire roster of pokemon to farm. But they could very well put more bosses in one game than fromsoft could, more echoes in a singular game (with a ton of time stretching beyond one anniversary - 400 is massive) than pokemon, and more actual game to play than genshin could. And it would play into their biggest strong suit - the fighting being really fun.
1:44:15 I'd disagree, hitting those substats is not as bad as relying on genshin's artifact drops, hoping for a piece with 4 substats that are worth upgrading
The main issue for characters in WuWa is not limited to just voice acting but also because of world building. One missing part in WuWa is representation/symbolism of the city where the majority of the characters reside. Belobog and Monstadt are major examples of how a city's symbol affects the personalities of the characters. Belief, motivation and conviction all stems from the environment that a person is raised and the vague/lacking symbolism from the city greatly affects the depth of each of the characters. If they fix this, stakes such as boss fights and wars would feel much more hype.
@@LUCAS420BLZYou shouldn’t compare it to Genshin in 1.0 for two reasons 1:WuWa had 3 whole years to learn from 1.0 Genshin’s mistakes and they somehow did it far worse 2:Genshin isn’t in 1.0 anymore. This is competition, if I care a lot for story, why would I play 1.0 WuWa with a shitty story, when I could play 4.6 Genshin which may start off rough(still a far better and mire effective starting chapter.), but I have good stories right after. Venti’s little story quest has better writing than the entire main questline so far and that’s a really bad look.
HOT TAKE : Only roll crit rate 4c if the first roll is crit rate , crit dmg is good but because of limitations u dont rly need it, same for 3c. Here is the hot take: SAME FOR 3C 🟣, and 1C 🟣 but the purples always go to max out to get crit dmg rolls / energy / liberation dmg. do not complain about echo xp. but the energy costs need to be the same as in HSR. yea these are my thoughts after 70h gameplay and overall map explored 75%.
In regards to the optimization After the latest patch I can now run it 60FPS all UHD (except Motion Blur because I hate it) perfectly fine in my 6 Y.O PC Genshin still lags in my PC to this day from 1.0 Also I don't get the comparisons between current story of Genshin and WuWa's, the comparison should be with 1.0/1.1
No they shouldn’t. Its competition, you have 1.0 WuWa and you have 4.6 Genshin. This is the nature of competition, Genshin has a massive headstart, too bad for WuWa. But even comparing 1.0, Genshin had a much better foundation story-wise, it was a proper beginning, felt like the start of a long term story. WuWa feels like it tries too hard to give you all of these hooks, but because they’re all so trope-y and feel fabricated, it doesn’t land nearly as effectively. And if we include 1.1, you’re even more fucked in that argument

Great podcast 👏 good to see different perspectivesfrom creators I haven't watched before
Personal opinion here:
Combat: Wuthering Waves wins.

Found myself agreeing Fob on a lot of things here
100% loved all his takes. so many people are overly hyped about the free 5* thing but we have to remember HSR also did it and they barely had any launch issues iirc.
like fob said, they HAD to. it's not generosity, they genuinely HAD to give you something big because of the huge backlash on the CN side

I prefer chinese for the real names
Always great to hear from MistahFeet, his videos are very entertaining and he puts so much effort into making them. Keep up the good work man!
It's not perspective twisted it's the truth. That's the reason this has become so prevalent in the community for both.
So all enjoyment he might have had already went out the window because he was already in a bad mood when he started xD
Anyway, I think Act 6 really does lay the foundation for what we're asking for in most gacha games: the "show don't tell" part, because there's a war, so of course there is a lot more people fighting than just you, and in WuWa that is the case.
So if they use Act 6 as a basis for future story updates that would be an extremely good starting point

at 1:38:43 about the Echo Xp I do not think this will be an issue over the long term.
Oh wow I actually remember "We need to talk" - Its probably one of the first video's that I watched with Tec.
MistaFeet is the man! Love his content
Also the echo exp is kind of a shaky thing to adjust, I feel like tacet fields really need a buff on how much you get, but because you can farm infinite echos, being able to use those as exp isnt really fair when you think about it from a gacha company prospective
Just make it so you need to use energy to convert echoes into exp or something like that

Nobody was complaining about grinding, they wanted more resin. I do enjoy this game overall more than genshin, but in 3 years I will probally be tired of it just like genshin. It's inevitable.
Wait until these people reach the end-game echo grind. That shit is a full time job without getting paid.
@@alexmei21It's insufferable even now. Just farming for 3-cost Echoes can take up to 30-60min and you're not even guaranteed to get the right mainstat. Rinse and repeat daily? Yeah, that's getting old fast.
@@kingsimba9513 Let's keep it on the down low lest the wuwa shills come knocking claiming "it's content".
i always find it funny people saying "artifact grinding in genshin was tiring and in wuwa its so much better", like legit people are only saying that cause it feels different.
There is also a lot of complaints by female players in CN community about female Rover's outfit, hopefully KG adds additional outfit for Rover.
My option loving wuthering waves gave me those feeling back when I first played genshin my biggest grip is the stability and performance, it unimaginable laggy, slow and stutters every 3 seconds, take 30 mins just to get into game I hope they fix it, and the countless sound and music and sound issues, and the voices, they sound so bored and disinterested, genshin at the start ran smoothly and had great voice actors, stories for both was meh but it the beginning, I like you can skip stuff in wuthering
i recommend jp VA , it's a lot better.
Meanwhile in Genshin you usually want 4 out of 10 possible substats on characters, so the ratio of good to bad stats is pretty much the same
Need to agree with this, we need some way to focus on substats…
I quit Genshin over a year ago and MistahFeet is quite literally the ONLY Genshin CC I still watch to this day. I'm not going to count Xlice or Zy0x cause I only watch them when they play WuWa or HSR.
MistahFeet the only mf that can make watching content of that game enjoyable. Glad he's here!
This was a great dialog between people with different mindsets and agendas ... plus everyone was grounded enough to be okay with hearing different povs without getting offended
2:51:53 it's amazing how noone knows the best gatcha (franchise) when it comes to Aesthetics (and lore and a lot of other things), that is Onmyoji
was probably the best gacha cast you've done, everyone was good at talking and giving points and backing them up with their own logic. banger episode bro.
Every other option just creates a KR version of wuthering waves on my task manager that i'd have to close and open the epic games launcher again anyways.
damn if only this podcast happen after 1.1, i bet there would be pretty huge contrast
Loved this GatchaCast
Tectone asking whether you like genshin or wuwa more and only asking for explanations for those that said genshin is hilarious. You could tell some of the CCs here wanted to say Genshin but didnt want confrontation from Tectone.
why tf would they get on a podcast with him then
@@saftigerkeks5212 for the views ?
They’re not held at gunpoint as majority of them on this episode have reasons why they liked Genshin more in certain aspects compared to Wuwa
@@saftigerkeks5212 it's good promo for their channels to be on the podcast.
If they just joined for clout, I don’t want to hear their opinion anyway
Story wise, the only game which has stimulated my mind and made me theorycraft was HSR, specifically Penacony. There were tons of foreshadowing and intrigue. I definitely don't play Wuwa or GI for the story, if they were in webnovel form nobody would read that shit, except maybe a much abbreviated Fontaine short story.
People not understanding what shader compilation stutter is makes me sad. "It got better after a few days" Yeah thats how shader compilation works.
Chat making fun of the last guy being zesty af made me so satisfied, that was so f ing funny 😂
a thing which was not touched on was how expressive the characters are, that encore puppy face literally killed me
I am free to play and have both yinlin, jiyan AND THEIR SIGNITURE WEAPONS, i have cleared all content in the game and i can confidently say.
You do not need to spend money, there are enough ressources in the game to get up to 4 5 stars of your choice, essentially you can get a E5 character if you wish to.
2:17:16 definitely agree here, genshin has its problems but that 4 items was horrendous I did not give a fuuuuuck but was super invested in the genshin piece because it was more of a discovery, wuwa kinda moved in that direction once it hit scar though I think
Also definitely think the end inazuma main quest was the greatest it ever felt, haven't done Fontaine yet but sumeru overall was better but nothing would best that ending after Signora
Tectone daaaamn brainswashng people bro..
wuwa has some of the QoL features genshin players have been wishing for... although it still feels a bit clunky to play sometimes...
I was not expecting MistaFeet to show up. What a surprise
Oh the Lingyang story quest… I finished the domain and dialogue but had to suddenly close the game
Came back and none of it was saved, had to hustle through the thing all over again
34:46 funny thing you can make spearback king get stuck in that one branch 😂
PS5 console release version is the biggest drawback of the game right now. If they had PS5 version of the game the playerbase playing the game would be greatly increased. Plus the game will run so smoothly on my PS5 plus we have really good internet connection so good gameplay!
Wuwa music is in the game background but in my head for some reason Flyff music is what’s playing.
2:47:18 Finally! Someone with some class! Baizhi is the hottest girl in WuWa rn, and it’s not even close
For me, sanhua clears easily
playable rn? yes baizhi all the way, now i just need to wait for changli
@@Yoru...Sanhua is hot, but the weird mismatching pupils never do it for me. Looks weird on that one Blue Archive catgirl, and it looks weird on Sanhua
7:55 what is bro yapping about Danjin is one of the most solid characters unless you're getting ganged on
I love this love-hate relationship between Fob and Tectone, like 2 brothers
49:49 oh god, the fact the Rover actually had to commentate everything you did during the library puzzle like I was a 4 year old who couldn't figure out that I was supposed to cross the bridge that literally just spawned in front of me... All of these gatcha games' story is just so annoyingly handholdy. Don't know if this is just the way chineese people tell stories and the localization is just weird or what.
Yup. That part sucked hard. Most of the story hasnt been great, but then again I havent been gripped by genshins either.
bro, I actively skip that shit, it's like
"the way you said it feels wrong, also why are you commenting about everything, just let me do it"
@@joewelch4933 the writing in all of these gachas seem very mediocre. Don’t know if that is just a difference in culture and Chinese writing is just a lot more wordy then English writing, but Genshin, HSR and WuWa seem to write dialogue the same way. Can’t discover any truths on your own, it’s all force fed to you.
Idk ma , just was satisfied listening to best WuWa girl having a inner monologue.
this was so fun to watch. great content
I really hate the 3 years old genshin vs just released WuWa argument, kuro have like 3 years to learn what not to do etc, if you enter the market late then be prepared to be judged with the major existing product
its like im creating a new OS for a computer competing against Windows 11 in the industry, but these people keep saying "hey Microsoft have like 20 years+ advantage can't compare" like no shit you dont say, that doesn't mean i can just create an underwhelming product as a first impression and then avoid criticsm or hate for it like cmon its common sense
also Fob is the GOAT here lmao 🤣
lol wonder if shinya did zoome job interviews with his character too 😂
what I like about WUWA is that they have phantom versions of their echoes. a little detail, but damn you can hunt shiny pokemons in the game. lmao
that was very enjoyable to watch, I agree also that Mona is such a hottie, she's the reason I gave Genshin a try when it came out.
The main character(Rover/Traveler) should be able to equip any weapon and inherit the basic moveset. That way he could assume the role of whatever character class you lack in your roster. Jack of all trades but master of none.
Did I really sit here for 2 hours listening to wuwa talk? yes.
My first swipe in gacha was when ganyu said "would you accompany me to walk over time" (I know im a simp)
tecy got mujin in this?? I love his stuff!
2:53:49 NAHHHHH BRO GOT COOKED TO CRISP THAT IS CRAZYYY 💀
I think Mr.Pokke has a rival for the biggest yapper in Feet, their battle would be legendary if they had a yapfest.
1:44:15 I'd disagree, hitting those substats is not as bad as relying on genshin's artifact drops, hoping for a piece with 4 substats that are worth upgrading
Didnt know MJ of genshin is here... Nice!!!
If they fix this, stakes such as boss fights and wars would feel much more hype.
yeah a lot of wuwa seems very surface level
Fuck the VAs/story I’m tryna kill shit. Genshin is worthless for that.
@@LUCAS420BLZYou shouldn’t compare it to Genshin in 1.0 for two reasons
1:WuWa had 3 whole years to learn from 1.0 Genshin’s mistakes and they somehow did it far worse
2:Genshin isn’t in 1.0 anymore.
51:10 Holy BASED I like this guy
In regards to the optimization
After the latest patch I can now run it 60FPS all UHD (except Motion Blur because I hate it) perfectly fine in my 6 Y.O PC
Genshin still lags in my PC to this day from 1.0
Also I don't get the comparisons between current story of Genshin and WuWa's, the comparison should be with 1.0/1.1
No they shouldn’t.
