I think adding guts checks to code 1 is a good idea. Not being able to duck behind cover just adds too much to the active player imo.

You can still dodge if that's what you want to do.
They've made some difficult choices in streamlining the rules. I think it gives quicker games and reduces the learning barrier to entry.

They are such awesome models I might just house rule the extra AVA if that's what you guys did :)

I have icestorm starter kit so Pano and Nomad 20 pt armies but prefer Code one.. looking to bolster the army and I love the Mobile Brigada models but couldn't bring myself to buy the 4 mini set due to the AVA2 on that troop type :( - So I'm glad you noticed too as these guys are having their cake and eating it!
