Transmitter doesn't send this signal as multi path, this phenomena is due to the obstacles come in between the transmitter and receiver. The signal gets diffracted, scattered, reflected, due to which the composite signals have different amplitude and phase. Besides that is not correct to say atmosphere, it is ionosphere if you are using sky wave propagation. In general skywave is used in television communication. For general communication we use radio wave propagation (ground wave) that is why the signals gets multipath.

Multi oath fading is a consequence of the environment. It’s not something we do intentionally. Basically multiparty fading occurs due to self intereference of the signal. Let say there are two paths . For each path we have Radom gains and phase shifts. If the two signals arrive in phase ; we will receive amplified signal ; if the two arrive in counter phase; we will receive nothing . In such a case; the frequency response of the channel is sinosoidal and the period being 1/D, where D is the delay spread; which completely characterises the channel. For. 5G, in space; the period or distance between two peaks (lambda) is 10cm, which corresponds to phase shift of 2pi; while for pi/2 phase shift it is enough to move receiver by 5 cm (lambda/2). This is fast fading

Salut monsieur. J'approuve votre explication. C'est très intéressant. Au faite je travaille sur la propagation en espace libre et j'aimerais avoir le privilège de discuter avec vous sur ce domaine. Merci d'avance !

So confusing, fading is variation of phase and amplitude of the signals and that it takes different time for the signals to reach the receiver? You start to talk about reflactive index and height of something.

In wireless communication, I wonder about what people are referring to when they use the term 'channel tap.',or 'delay taps' or 'doppler taps.' Can someone explain the term or provide me a definition? Any help will be appreciated!
