I got a brother vx1010 since 1989 I use her almost everyday and she works great now I got me some press foots and to tell you the true I hope to keep using it for many more years
You should get lots of years out of this machine. Better thing to do to keep it clean and oiled.
Awesome! My coworker just gave me this model of sewing machine since she had two sewing machines! I'm not sure if it works really well yet but we'll see. I did find out that it does at least run! But I haven't actually used it yet, so we'll see how it goes!

I have this same model and suddenly the pressure adjuster will not stay in the middle. It keeps going all the way back up when I start sewing. Please can you help?

Well, there is a small screw the needs to be tightened. It's a good idea to clean the sewing machine.

Can i ask if what is the problem when the machine is not running. I mean the bar wont go up and down but i hear the motor sound
First thing first if the foot pedal is going to go out it starts with a new foot pedal, and get a deep cleaning. If I still doesn't work then you broke the hub bar on your sewing machine. They don't replace them. On a plastic sewing machine. Sometimes you can send it back to the manufacturer but when Brother was brother you could do this but now brother is own by someone else. They won't fix it.

You don't need to loosen the screw on the handwheel to release the bobbin winder clutch. I'm a collector and a professional servicer and that is just silly!
Some sewing machine you may have to dis-in-gauge the sewing machine to fill a bobbin.
I have the same machine, but the needle is stuck. Any ideas on how to get that unstuck? Thanks
Unscrew the needle from the sewing machine.

Okay, now you need to take one step farther now your the take the bottom. 2 plastic lovers to take out the insert. Then this should released attention from the machine.

Between $35.00 to $45.00. Unless you have everything it came with like original box all the attachments the Emmanuel the cover on the sewing machine the foot pedal and it has to be super clean and oiled and you could get $85.00.

I teach young girls to sew and recently I was given this exact Brother sewing machine.
Is it a computerized machine? When was this machine made and does it have metal parts inside.
Do you think I can oil it myself or do I need to bring it to a repair shop?

Well, what does your book say? If your sewing machine is making a bad nosie. It's best to take to some who who can look at it. Before oiling it. You have make sure you don't oil any computer sensors. It can mess up the computer part of the sewing machine.
