IK is making Reason 10 (the jurassic DAW I use) sound like a $400,000 studio. Plus mastering in T-Racks is a joy. I got the T-Racks Max and am getting this collection on sale. NIce vid!

The only thing that I wish they would change on these would be to add a "link" option for the input and output levels...I've found with them that they gain match pretty much spot on with the in and out matched...

The tape formulas go from vintage to modern, more saturated to more clean, left to right.

My way of working is to print the raw trackouts then proceed them in a new project thru a tape 24 plugin on every track. after that i have Digital raw trackouts and a "analog tape" version of them. After that i start mixing with these analog trackouts. Its a pretty cpu friendly way to get the drive and classic tape rolloff on every track.

That is a good work-flow and if it is working for you then there is no need to change your approach

Thanks for the video, Dave. Can you also give us a hint what are we listening to when you switch buttons?

Sounds really great. I use Virtual Tape Machine from Slate digital. What's your opinion about Slate and IK multimedia tapes machines? Which one you prefer?

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy

I tend to use the Slate stuff

I have the Slate too but it might be nice to use the Slate for tracking and one of these for final mix. 😎
