  • Is the Road Glide 3 the Cool Trike?
In this video, ride along with me on the Harley Davidson Road Glide 3 First Impressions and Raw reactions for my first ride on a Harley Davidson trike. The Road Glide 3 is Harley Davidson's first fixed fairing 3 wheeled motorcycle. The Road Glide 3 was release with the 2023 model line up reveal back in January. So ride along as I give some detailed information on the Road Glide 3 and my first impressions of riding the Road Glide 3...Its not all roses. I had the opportunity to ride the Road Glide 3 for 30 to 40 minutes at a recent demo day ‪@GatewayHarleyDavidsonStLouis‬ The last 2 years I have been ask to help support demo days by being one of the event personnel leading the demo rides. The Road Glide 3 from the tank forward looks and feels just like a Road Glide, however, once you start the Road Glide 3 and move down the road, you know you are not on a Road Glide.

The Road Glide 3...Is it the cool trike? Even if your not in the market for a trike, you will want to watch this one and see the struggles I had riding this Harley Davidson. Going from 2 wheels to 3 wheels presents a whole new way of riding.

I love my RG3. My husband recently went from 2 wheels to 3 wheels. He said just what you did...feeling the bump. After a while, you do not notice those bumps. You get used to it. Arm strength is a must.

We have a 23 Freewheeler which the RG3 is with a fairing. You feel bumps because the rear is a straight axle(there is a suspension adjuster under the seat). You get used to it. Steering? You get used to it. Sharp curves you slow down a bit. Big curves I try to straight line them. Curve left, I enter from the right side of the lane then move to the Center at the curve then throttle out. Not having to put your feet down while stopped? 👍👍. As for the back rest, “Everything” is an option on a Harley. You don’t even get LED’s. We change all those out, at Custom Dynamics. Lifetime warranty and a lot cheaper cost.

I just love people that do a review on something they know nothing about. Go take a riders course. Also you need to read the owners manual.
I had a friend that was apprehensive about buying and riding a trike because of people like you. She bought the trike Rhode the trike. After the first ride she came back and said oh my God I love it. But she's been riding a motorcycle probably for 40 years. And she can actually ride. Oh and actually knows how to use the brakes properly on a motorcycle or a trike.

The test rider on this RG3 is obviously a rooky rider. I will make a suggestion tho, for those of you who have an RG3. Im 5'8 and 200lbs. I had the dealer adjust the stock bars all the way up, and it makes one hell of a difference in your riding position and your upper body input while steering. Try it, no need for ape hangers at all. Ride safe..

The ride on any HD Trike is rougher than your two wheel bikes. The trade off is the Trike is more stable on the road. Also, it does take a little adapting to the characteristics and functionality of 3 wheels. It handles and rides quite differently than 2 wheels. With more hours on the road with a Trike, the more you will adapt to the features riding on 3 wheels. In short, the Road Glide 3 is fun, safe, functional, and definitely stylish. Thanks for posting.

The problem with this review is that you are giving your thoughts/impressions on something you need to learn about. If you had spent a little time accessing the readily available information (DK Custom Products-many trike-related videos) and orienting yourself more to trikes, you could have provided a review that not only gave your impression but also provided valuable information. Everything you were complaining about regarding your ride is fixable. For example, Ciro 3D has frame-mounted highway pegs, which is an excellent product. You mentioned attaching pegs to the floorboards! Adding a lift kit, an inexpensive upgrade, greatly improves steering. Suspension upgrades will smooth the ride considerably. I question the value of posting a review on something you don't know anything about. It gives the wrong impression.

So many reviews saying, "I never rode a trike before. Boy, this thing feels weird." Maybe that's somewhat helpful to people who are considering changing from two to three wheels, but in terms of learning how it stacks up to other trikes, it's completely useless. This is more an overview of how a trike is different from a bike than a review of the RG3.

But the Road Glide 3 ….. hard pass. If I want a trike it will be for travelling and this bike has about 1/4 the storage compared to the road glide. …and you cant put a tour pack on because of the trunk design.

Why do people do these "reviews" and all they do is complain about how much different it is than a 2 wheeler? NO KIDDING!!!! If it's so difficult for you, turn around and park it. Get back on your 2 wheeler. Those of us who have to ride a trike love ours and don't really appreciate those of you who really don't know anything about them "reviewing" them. Of course it's different. I'm 60 and have no problem maneuvering mine and it's not a big deal if you do want to put your foot down. Horrible video.

I mentioned at the very beginning it was my impressions coming from someone that has never ridden on a three wheel Harley. So it's my perspective I shared not saying it's bad or good...just perspective. I'm sure if anyone rode one every day as I do on two wheels, then one would get accustomed to how to maneuver it and ride it. Sorry you seem to have taken offense to my opinion...it's a free video so take it for what it is...no one has to watch but almost 8,000 people have so hopefully it will give those that haven't ridden on perspective and they can test ride one for themselves and generate their own opinion. Have a great day, and ride safe out there. 👊✌️👍
