Assalamualaikum. Being an Egyptian that dosent know arabic…I consider your videos very helpful!! at my school I have Egyptians there that don’t like me because I’m the only Egyptian there that dosent know arabic. I am always wanting to talk with them but they refuse. And it is very embarrassing to me that I don’t know arabic even tho I’m Arab. And even if I know a little bit of common Arabic words I am afraid to say them because what if I say them wrong?? so this is my situation here. Thank you very much!! God bless you
Thank you so much for that. I was so confused about اشرب و بشرب ; I thought I was mixing up MSA and Egyptian, but now I've understood it's the difference between "I drink tea" (regularly or habitually) and "I am drinking tea" (now). And also that, as a beginner, that's not a vital difference to be able to make. I feel relieved as the multisyllabic forms like مابتشربش were scrambling my brain!
you are an excellent teacher. I’m subscribed already and this is only my second video watching you and I’m not even half way through this video. I just wanted to acknowledge you!!
Really appreciate and amazing for me,, Thanks for your channel. Very interesting and very helpful to me as a beginner more blessings and good health to you..

It is the 2nd time that I watch this video. The first time I didn’t know any Egyptian word. And now after one and half year I watch ur video. Now I learned a lot. I like ur expressions about be form and h form of ega verb because u wrote this verbs as با and ها . Ur examples are really useful. Those days I don’t know how to use TH-cam but now I learnt and could appreciate u. Happy new year
This is really interesting and it helps a lot. Thank you. Please make a tutorial same like like this video, but instead make a question to another person. Do you want to drink, or what do you want to eat. To be able for us to learn asking as well. Jazak Allahu khair.
Question:- Studying:- I always said Ana Andrus...Aldirasat..I tried to translate Betzaaker .. also I wrote down in Arabic Betzaaker :- No recognition at all ...Why is that???
Question: I noticed that delwa2ty written in Arabic throughout your video has the character for Q in it, like delwaqty. (see 8:12) Is this an archaic MSA spelling? Thanks for the great videos, I'm currently learning al-Fusha & investigating the Masri dialect through your channel
Good question! in MSA it is Delwaqty or Delwakty , but we pronounce it in Egypt delwa2ty with a (no k/q pronounciation) this is a matter of easing the pronunciation of Arabic words (very common in Egyptian dialect of Cairo)
There is another way of adding a future tense: add س at the beginning of the word, although it is used for only formal speaking, Although you can use ح if it's informal
I love this video! 💕❤️ I'm just learning to read and know nothing. The only thing I would change is I would love to see the Arabic letters a little bigger and written with vowels/diacritics. I'm screenshoting the words on my phone so I can make them bigger. Maybe most of your viewers don't need vowels/diacritics? It would be even better if they were in another color. Also the verb in the sentence could be in another color. I'm big on colors. 😁 Thank you so much for this video. I'll be working on these verbs for a while because I'm a turtle 🐢! 💕❤️👏👏
this is wonderful and many thanks for your feedback Tricia - it is always very effective to move slowly and turtle-like with a new language (especially Arabic). Great ideas with respect to colors and vowels/diacritics - the main reason I don't include them is not to overwhelm very beginners, but I will figure out a way to include them. Great progress and follow up from your side - You will improve very fast this way.. keep it up 😀
Good, useful lesson. But one imp correction is rather urgent, d font size of arabic must be increased. Please make it really big, so that people like me can read it
I like your teaching it is very nice Sorry i have question...Egyptions have some song of course you know مهرجانات i try to undrestand them but i think it's diffrent and little hard. What should i do? Actually i underestand daily conversation arabic dialect but i can't undrestand all of مهرجانات
you are absolutely right - Maharaganaat (festivals in English) is a new form of folk Egyptian songs that emerged in the last 10 years or so - it is wording is based on a young generation terminologies and it is usually performed in unbelievably-fast tempos that even native Egyptian have difficulty to follow - as I mentioned some words are also relatively new or specially made-up among young generation and many of these are not used or even inappropriate to use for daily conversations - This is why I recommend NOT to learn Egyptian from these type of songs
@@Linguamid yes thank you from you explations...actually i have Egyption friends they listen to these kind of song a lot ...and you know in Iran people don't underestand Arabic but teenagers listen to Mehrajanat a lot and they like these kind of songs And i listen sometimes too it's cool😅💚
Thank you for this video 😊 but I'm a bit confuse because the subject (I, you, she, him) in the sentence is keep changing 😅. it would be great if there are other verbs like : to go, to come, to return, to go down/up, to pay, to enter, to open, to close, to turn off, etc, because it's use in daily life for sure 😁. Thank you.

Hey I’m curious to know why you start the verbs with ‘y’ and not ‘a’. Yaakol not aakol?
simply these are two conjugations
ana (I) aakol
howwa (he) yaakol
besides, the form y+verb is more like the infinitive from for the verbs in Egyptian
How to say the words “without you” wa “without me” in Egyptian Arabic?
Men gharg
من غيرك
Without you = mn gherak( to male ) or mn gherek ( to a female ) من غيرك
Without me = mn ghery من غيري
Why do verb "want" has female and male version but not "drink" verb in egyptian?
In spoken Egyptian, when two verbs follow each other we change the gender of both helping verb (3ayez).. And the main verb (ashrab), which is always in simple present
He wants to drink | howwa 3aayez yeshrab
She wants to drink | heyya 3ayzah teshrab
With I (Ana), we conjugate 3aayez by gender, while the second verb stays the same (ashrab)
I want to drink (m) : ana 3aayez ashrab
I want to drink (f) : ana 3ayzah ashrab
@@Linguamid Why does the female stars with t? Is it all the same for other verbs?
