So my combo mill/lathe doesn't have limit switches. Just pick a spot i can repeat at the end of every run and reference all home when machine back on? I don't mind losing home, just need to figure out how to safely restart everything so i don't dive into the chuck again 😂 are home/limit switches something unavoidable and need to add to machine?

this was helpful since i don't really use the mach3 on our system beyond loading and running the files i make with vectric aspire.
we had an problem yesterday where the machine suddenly jumped about 2 inches in the Y axis during a carve, luckily i was watching and stopped it right away, we have not proceeded from there, but if i understand correctly doing the REF HOME and not re-zeroring any axis should get us back to our X/Y staring point ? it seemed to but of course it would need to be exactly back to that point for our carving to succeed.
now i realize that had i written down the X/Y Machine co-ordinates after originally zeroing X/Y we could easily get back to the right point or verify that we have returned to that point.
the weirdest part was that we also ended up with an issue in the Z axis which seemed unaffected by the jump when happened, the bit kept going at the proper Z height after the jump until stopped it, but when i manually jogged down away the work piece to see if Z was still right it was not, it was lower than it should be, then when we ran REF HOME we had issues with it either not going up as much as it can and should, or else trying to go up too much. after powering off the router head sunk down a lot and powering back up and running REF HOME again seemed to clear things up. but we still the issue of why the machine jumped in the Y axis in the first place, this is second time, the first was about 2 months ago and we have done lots of projects since without it happening.

OH, i meant to ask, is there a way to type in the coordinates that want the router to go to ? and also, can you tell it to go 1mm deeper in Z than where it is, or that the g-code file says to ?

I'm having an issue with my z axis. I get the message telling me the home switch is pressed when it's not.
Both wires have a live current which I find strange.
They're all crossed for active low
The port for the z is different to the X and y but there not in use from the previous owner they've been disconnected.

Will such configuration remain same of machine even if you switch to different PC & soft?

Good morning. Can I ask you one thing? Why my zero machine coordinates exchange when I start my cnc router? I'm using a Chinese cnc 9060. I tried to configured zero machine by g54 and g28 program configuration. Nothing exchange. Have I problems with my Mach 3 included with the cncest machine? I don't understand, I'm new in this business. Thanks for all.

Awesome Video, it's help me to understand Mach3.
Can Mach3 implemented into CNC Horizontal system?
Can you share us What kinds CNC Controller can connected perfectly into Software Mach3?
    thanks to Artsoft CNC

How do you zero machine coordinates for the first time setup.. DRO wont zero by using zero buttons? None of thiis matters if you cant zero for first time.
