    Would’ve been nice if you tested Trokar hooks and hooks and illustrated price points

    Do you think it affects the test that the googan was a 4/0 hook and also a different shape of hook than the others?

    • @RyanRigged
      @RyanRigged  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great comment!
      Definitely! Weight distribution can effect metal tolerance big time. The metal was similar to the Prism hooks but seems to me 1/32 wider OD. The shape also plays a role, but I just wanted to test it with the rest since I had them handy.
      I think we should just DQ the Googan hook from this test lol.

    I use the Gamakatsu size 1 EWG for small bait and is the weakest one I have very interested in this because I use smaller 3inch or smaller soft plastic baits. 🤔 a nother size.

    Whats the average pounds of force on a 3-4 lb. Largemouth?

    • @pricebrothersinventions4121
      @pricebrothersinventions4121 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing more than your drag is set to, so probably less than 5 pounds max

    • @RyanRigged
      @RyanRigged  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot can play into this, current, depth, water temps, rods, line type, and more but if id have to guess Id say a 5-10lbs of force. (Safe to say about 2lbs per fish pound)
      Keep in mind your rod bends to reduce the pressure put on your line and hooks. So its very unlikely you would ever get more than 5lbs from a 3-4lb bass in my opinion.

    The Daiichi hooks are the only ones I’ve used and straight up hated. Maybe I just had a bad day lol. Hammer hooks all day everyday for me.

    • @garyeplinglll
      @garyeplinglll 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup I’ve had daiichis fresh out of the pack that didn’t pass the thumb nail test. Glad my fishing experience has paid off. After bending out on a almost 6 pounder definitely loss of my PB at the boat. Bent out gamakatsu. I only use heavy hammer hooks. Although putting gamakatsu super line hooks in this battle would have been legit!

      I think that's why I was so surprised by them as well! Ive heard a lot of things about them bending out on fish

    Lunker City hooks are stronger than all of them. They made the original soft plastic jerk bait called the SluGo.

    personally i use mustad lol, also it was kinda unfair cuz the googan hook is like twice as thick 🤷‍♂️

      @RyanRigged  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree! I too think the Googan should be DQ'd not even being a EWG but it was just to add reference

    Most hooks are much duller than you think. Even the most expensive brands are rounded, blunt and have bent points when you look at them under 60x magnification.

    Sorry man, its really a pointless comparison unfortunately. Wire diameters need to be the same to really assess what each manufacturer is capable of doing with their materials. It doesn't matter what the size of the hook is labelled as, there's no universal standard that each brand adheres to.
