Glacier: Beautiful Winter Ambient Music for The Lost and Lonely (Relaxing Sci Fi Music)

- Elements of this video and music are heavily inspired by one of my favourite composers, Ólafur Arnalds. If you haven’t heard of him, he’s an incredible composer from Iceland who often uses a combination of warm strings and analog electronic elements. He has scored a variety of genres from drama to sci fi and crime thrillers, always with the utmost attention to detail and beautiful display of musical emotion. I’ve combined elements of what I love in Ólafur’s music with some of my Futurescapes sound and I really hope you love it as much as I do!

Welcome to Futurescapes! Enjoy this beautiful and emotional ambient video!
That robot reminds me of the past when i lost my girlfriend to cancer, the robot also reminds me of what i will be like in the future if i never find her 💗
Never has a song so cold come in so hot
He walked out of the water and sat down. It was useless to go on. Soon enough, his metals would rust from the moisture that covered him. He knew this about metal and moisture, somehow. He watched the dainty snowflakes fall until he couldn't move anymore.
Beautifully written.
Now immobilized, by the long soft gentle kiss of time. His rusting corpse, half buried in the coarse sand, still house and protects the faintly beating electric heart. A softly whirring heart of timed pulses; damaged by those who failed him, strengthened by those who challenged him, and hardened by those who hurt him. A heart soon to cease as the last spin of the dying electrons make their final push for life. The last vestiges of sunlight begin to dip below the distant horizon as the faint glow of his eyes begin to dim as if on cue…
Like a forgotten penny, sat at the bottom of a wishing well, he slowly erodes, as the depths of his eternal grave gradually deepen over time. His crumbling flakey shell, gives life and a new home to the algae and sea creatures that surround him. Time may have passed, but his presence is still felt by those around him. Unknowingly to them, the life he once led 🙏
Rust in peace lonely robot.
He had been walking and walking and walking, trying to get home. For how long, he was now unsure. He wasn't sure where he was either - not receiving a GPS signal for some time. The valley he was walking through unexpectedly emptied onto a coastline. Dark water lapping upon dark sand. He felt so tired now, after walking for so long. He decided to sit down by the shore, conserving what energy he had left for his emergency locator beacon. Hopefully, someone would find him before that went silent. He quietly observed grey snow falling again, forming a thin scum on the water....
I love your stories! Thanks for watching!
forming a thin scum on the water. My time of being fully aware was waining like a sun being slowly englufed by the clouds of a summer thunderstorm. Bright, then dim, followed by complete darkness....
I am rebooting, becoming aware of my surroundings again. I must be dreaming the voices that I am hearing. They are human voices. They went extinct over 3,000 years ago. My internal clock, barely kept functional by the emergency beacon solar panel, is telling me I've been sitting on this shoreline for......holy christ, that can't be....
Are you sure he still has legs? I thought the point of the picture was he lost both legs, and now he is trying to decide what to do next.
I cried
He is on front of you.
There's certain inexplicable beauty to gradual dissolution
My daily office noise. Awesome chilly.
amazing sounds and that background picture was perfect
Beautiful! Thank you!
Super music thanks dziękuję pozdrawiam z Polski 👍

God, it’s like I’ve been to a place where I feel at home. On one of the galaxies 🎇🥰
This makes you dream and feel love it. Emotional and dreamy with great soundselection and overall quality sound. Nicely done my friend!👍
Thank you!
Love the quietness of this. Other videos don't have this one quality that makes this one stand out from the others on youtube and on your channel. The quieter music makes it much more fun to listen to at night while doing my hw.
That’s awesome feedback thank you! I’ll keep that in mind for future videos 🙂
Simply breath taking, the best way of waking up... And preparing to apply the new mindset you have been gearing up for. Tomorrow starts today.....
lol, nice to see everyone becoming poets with this music and describing the picture.
Thank you for not including ads with these. I've nearly been given a heart attack while listening to some other people's (who shall remain nameless) "sci-fi ambient" and had a commercial suddenly jolt me from concentration or sleep. As a thank you, I've purchased a bunch of your tracks on Bandcamp. Good stuff.
Thank you so much for your support! I always make sure I keep the mid-roll ads turned OFF as it's an important part of people's immersive experience :)
Just get adblock - no ads, ever - have you been living in a cave?
Not just "beautiful", but utterly beautiful.
Vu eseri dinlediğim zaman gözlerimi kapatıyorum ve içimde ne olduğunu bilmediğim birşeyin beni izlediğini görüyorum muazzam birşey
I am a 3rd eye poet and was inspired by the image and moved by the music. So, I wrote something to it. I've titled it, "Glacier Hero". If you read and like it, will you pin so others can read it also? I'd also like to read a comment from you. Thank you.
"Glacier Hero"
Once in my life
I was a man, who tried to become a hero
Sleeping during the day
Vigilante by night
Saving the lost, so they could be found
Rescuing those in trouble, before they would become victims of unfortunate circumstances
Then, I was captured, tortured
And they turned me into this machine that I do not recognize
So, I sit here in this dark place
Lines drawn in these black sands
Asking over again, where do I stand?
While these shimmering, mirrored waters trickle in on me
All I see now is my horrid reflection
Living behind this mask permanently now
Because, you do not want to see the scars on my face
What they turned me into...something I do not recognize
Some may say, am I monster?
Now, alone
In this desolate place
This cold barren wasteland
I can no longer feel...
I've sort of, just...disappeared
And no one knows where I am
Or who, or what I am anymore
I don't even know
I'm frozen, numb, speechless
Like the glacier of ice staring at me from a distance
Snow covered mountain tops
Fixed eyes on the sky
Trying to figure out my future now
Wondering, am I even missed by those I've cared for...
Or by my enemies who did this to me?
Are they proud that I'm gone...
Well, they just think that I am gone
For now, I just sit
Trying to refocus
Concentrating on healing, physically, emotionally
Besides, one of my abilities is to regenerate
But, how long will that take?
Asking questions like, do I want to continue this journey?
Comeback and make their lives a living hell on earth?
YEAH!! Eventually...
You see, I'm not who I used to be
Or, should I just fade to black, go away
Never to be seen again
I've hit rock bottom
Am I still a man worthy of...
So, I am searching for answers, praying for...
In hopes that they will come...soon?
And I will be restored
Called out of the cave, to live again
With a smoldering stare
At least my heart is still beating
And you know what?
It may be the encouragement I need, the hope
The sign from above that says...
I need you back
Only time can measure when
So, we will see
Until then, I wait
But know this...
Someday, I will be back
Again...

I love this! The concept of the hero’s tragic downfall and being forced into some kind of mech man is great! Unfortunately I don’t think I can pin more than one comment, but this is awesome and I’m sure people will still read and enjoy it in the comments! Thanks for your support and creativity :)
Appreciate you reading and commenting. I didn't want it getting lost in all the comments. Maybe it won't.

Absolutely stunning!
Great music. Thank you !
Thank you for this incredible job. You are a legend. Well done!
I can totally feel this
Peace and Love
Beautiful 💙💙💙
Olafur is an amazing composer and I feel like you've nailed (and added your own interpretation to) his aesthetic, Brett! I absolutely love hearing a mix of traditional emotive orchestral instruments with electronic undertones. Stunning! I wonder if our tin friend sitting by the lake is wishing he only had a heart? Great job on the water animation, btw.
Thanks! Yes I agree! The emotional hybrid sound is one of my main styles as a composer. I just love it! And love that thought about the robot! It’s like the emotional music depicts the feelings he longs for but can never experience…
Beautiful !
that was amazing. wooow
lovely!
This is really amazing, thanks for making my study experience better
Great to hear!

The best in ambient music I personally consider ENIGMA,but still this time Glacier made me feel so well, that I name it the music of future,I heard some samples and details used in my beloved Enigma, and more newest sounds connecting me with outer space
0-1:56 is beyond amazing, need more of that similar tone!!!
Thanks glad you like it!
I think the one called "Bloom" is somewhat similar.
It's my fav right now.
Of course this one is amazing.
@@Futurescapes-SciFiAmbience Do u have anything like upbeat like the first 2 minutes of this set, I cant stop listening to it but it like it at that pace and tone till 2:10?
Thanks! Check out Triplicate, Rebirth and Crystal. I try to have variety but those have some similar sounds :)@@michaelquinn7710

Oooo I love Olafur … but this is more gifted. ❤🙏👏🏻⭐️

Bellissimo lavoro
I just discovered this and am captivated. I am listening throughout the workday, and love the accompanying images. My only concern is I am going to run through all of them within just a few days!
Thank you! So glad you are enjoying the videos :) I’m always working on more so if you do run out, stay tuned! Haha
good music
Digging this one, nice emotional and chill vibe. well done
Thank you!
I`ve listened to loads of these over the years this is really chuffing good, i don`t know whether its the mix or what but everything sounds so deep and those strings are just stunning.. More please .
Thank you! If you like this style with the more emotional strings, you might also like my more recent video called Rebirth :) More will be on the way!

E ele cansou!.
in a distant galaxy, left behind !
This video and score earned my subscription. nice work!

Yay, thank you!
I’m listening on a pair of Sony XM4 headphones with the low end slightly boosted slightly on the app. Now all of those bass notes feel like a long slow hug 🤗 Thank you to the amazing creators! 🙌🏼🙏🏻👏🏼🏆🥇
Awesome! So glad you are listening well and appreciate the subtle details 🙂
THIS! I'm looking for boosting the bass notes. They are amazing!
Really enjoyed the melodies and sequences here, very emotive piece. I'll certainly be looking up works by Ólafur Arnalds too. Great work as always!
Thank you! And ya my favourite album from Olafur is For Now I Am Winter. His score for Broadchurch is also amazing :)
@@Futurescapes-SciFiAmbience I've not seen Broadchurch yet but it's on my list to watch, definitely need to watch it now! Thanks for the listening recommendations!
We don't dream the same way humans do. Where the machine mind goes for days, years or sometimes millennia is anyone's guess. What it will be like upon return... is a whole different story.
Really nice calm, and melodic tune. Could have been a bit more on the bass side, but cool as it is. Ty!
nice! Looking at the description it seems like this is actual original music

Very peaceful. Thanks for sharing.
Fractured clots of ice lay scattered across a starry beach
like carcasses of ancient beasts;

It's a picture of me in 75 years. Not a spec of rust on me. Just out for a walk while I wait for some new upgrades. As scientists even now have developed real skin with nerves, it looks like I am still in an old model, contemplating keeping up with all my friends... Peer pressure in the twenty second century... I was always a more traditional kind of guy.
That picture is Iceland. I'd know that landscape anywhere. Beautiful music too.
Yes! The black sand beaches. I hope to go there someday!

I think the cyborg just seen it's reflection and realized it's just a machine. But it searched all over for a companion. The search is over. It is the last one and soon it's power will run out.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your support :)
These are great. Are you on spotify?
Not at the moment but might get some tracks on there in the near future!
Simply beautiful. The sound and the gently moving water work so well together. What are you using to create such high quality animated video?
Thank you! For the visual I generate my images in Midjourney based on what’s in my head, then use a variety of effects and overlays in Davinci Resolve. And I compose the music myself :)
@@Futurescapes-SciFiAmbience The music is excellent as always and I can tell it's been composed by someone with an excellent ear :) My burning question is how do you get the water to move like that? I have several long-form posts here myself but this level of video editing is beyond me at the moment.
@@TenebrisAnimarumDominium Thank you! To be honest, I’m still learning how to do actual animation like water and moving elements and such, so I don’t do that in my videos yet. The water in this one was done with Pika Labs. So I put the picture in, dictated something like “subtle water movement”, made sure the camera doesn’t move, then when I got a version of the water that I liked, I cropped just the water over top of the still image and added my other fx, making the crop around the water really smooth and getting it to a point I was happy with. Though most of that would be similar to doing the animation in Apple Motion or After Effects, using some kind of water element over top of the image and tweaking to taste
@@Futurescapes-SciFiAmbiencewell you have done an excellent job!
Many thanks for the reply. I have some catching up to do 👍🏻
Nothing worse than a Rusty Robot. That’s going to need a lot of WD40 and a sand blast.
