Background:
Monsters & Memories started as a discussion between MMO fans during a series of livestreams, about what it would be like to create a niche, smaller budget / indie game, in the style of a Classic Fantasy MMORPG, but utilizing modern day tools and game development practices.
This looks fantastic. EQ1 classic has always been my favorite MMORPG of all time. This looks like an almost 1 to 1 of that, but in a totally new world. You will have my day 1 support... I can't wait to explore it!

EQ2 had the best tradeskill system out of all MMO's; Final Fantasy 11 had the best slow pace environment /skill ups and fishing
they need to add [quest] type notion.
Is there a new stress test coming?
There's a playtest on the 28th of this month. Friday - Sunday.

it is done but in the end of the month there will be a longer play test, which hopefully runs better than this one :). Looking forward to it.

@@Inmate533 the last was starttime 01/june-24 Saturday 19:00 CET timezone. , Next stress test will be 28th of june 2024 19:00 CET. Unless they do another Stress test before to hopefully get servers right before the longer one :)

And no Arnold killed himself cause they wanted to destroy all traces of the tech that was in front of humans to develop and learn from. Thats why they destroyed the last chip and the big research center where they recreated terminator chips/bodyparts. Gosh did you not watch the movie lol.

Looks really great! I’m hoping the models, environments, and textures get a bit more detailed for the final product. EverQuest 2 and Vanguard was really stunning back in the day and I still play those from time to time. Wishing you good luck and that the game turns out amazingly fun, beautiful, and smooth! 🍀 ❤

Have you seen eq2 lately, it looks awful. Classic wows art direction still holds up and in eq2 everything looks like trash, from the walls to the floor to the character design. The animations are….. tolerable but get old within the first play session lmao
I am looking for a new mmo to play. But unless this gets better graphics I can't even take it seriously. Even the menus feel 20 years old and that just doesnt feel new to me.
That's great to hear! The game is not supposed to feel new. It's intentionally designed as a throwback to 20-year-old games like EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, and early WoW. It's not supposed to be for everyone. They're going for NICHE appeal, which is why they're called Niche Worlds Cult. Maybe Final Fantasy XIV would be more your cup of tea?
