I had what appeared to be s prophetic dream telling me to build a $1.53 million or $15.3 million underground bunker. Maybe it was $153 million. The dream was short and the figures I saw had no comma and I didn't have time to count.
why is the hole where the bunker goes never that deep the whole most of the time is always level with the top of the bunker shouldn't it be a little Deeper. The deeper an underground bunker is built, the more protection it offers from a nuclear explosion. Studies have suggested that a bunker built at a depth of 100 feet or closer or more below ground level would provide a high degree of protection from a KT blast and radiation effects of a nuclear explosion.
And my wife thinks I spend too much money on prepping stuff. I have to say though, I much prefer living in a house on top of land with beautiful views in the mountains than this. My house is safe from nukes and fallout and it cost a lot less than this contraption. I can grow food here too and we have lots of wild game with the house in the middle of a very large national forest.
There are a few challenges with this particular one...First, modern nuclear war will certainly involve tropospheric detonation of an EMP. Russia and DPRK are believed to have these weapons on current satellites in geo orbit above us. This would instantly cook any electronics on our continent not buried deeper than 3/4 mile of the surface, and not designed specifically for EMP isolation. None of these bunkers are isolated, due to their HVAC and plumbing lines into the shelters and lack of copper grounding on doors. Even with the proper copper grounding straps, they require constant maintenance to maintain ground fields at the doors and gaps. The paint they're using is also problematic. So, nothing using power will survive, meaning the gennie is certainly shot, and that will shorten the time you can spend down there. This one in particular isn't buried very deeply, so their survival would depend on how far away they are from a detonation. This one is going to be more or less a storm/civil unrest shelter, not a nuclear bunker. Some of the installations I've seen on this channel have been much better for nuclear survival, but again, without power and electronics it's going to be tough sledding. IMO, most of the civilian Nuclear Bunkers I've seen, like this one, have been designed with 1995 in mind, not with 2024 threats in mind.
Just a simple question .. even if you make it in the bunker and not loose your mind in there (remember how the lockdowns felt), what are you gonna do once you get out again ? There will be nothing .. no food, no water, no butlers and blue collar workers, no banks, no yachts, no airports .. nothing .. Good luck with that one
@@KrokisMtl sure, to an extent. Generally you need an isolated ground field within another grounded enclosure to deal with airburst EMP's, which is like what they have at Cheyenne Mountain (way beyond this level of bunker's protection, so with regular atmospheric airburst, this bunker would need to be far enough away from the airburst). However, with High Altitude E3 EMP, every opening in the bunker is a conduit for the EMP radiation In fact, wires and HVAC lines running outside the box actually amplify the signal, like antennas inside of the box. The US and UK military's have published the necessary specs for defending against tropospheric EMP's. Since we can't go deeply enough to get out of the impact area, it's always about creating isolation rooms. This is further challenged by the fact that E3 can continue to self propagate after detonation as it will keep bouncing between the Troposphere and the Earth's Core, perhaps for a year or more. The UK is probably way ahead of the rest of World on this, and their plan is to store electronics in complete RF Isolation rooms until the signal has dissipated, then survivors could remove the devices from their enclosures. Of course, this requires that these doors remain unopened and the copper or gold ground straps on doors are maintained. Virtually every nuclear capable country is probably working on continental impact space detonated EMPs, with Russia and North Korea potentially having already deployed these weapons on satellites. Both countries have launched mystery satellites around the correct payload size into geosynchronous orbits above North America. This is probably the secret arms race that's going on right now - as these are absolutely first strike weapons. It's frankly doubtful our ICBM fields would be able to get their missiles off, and perhaps the only reason a strike hasn't happened yet is due to questions adversaries have about how long it would take to send VLF instructions out to our SSBN's in other parts of the globe. As an aside, I'm sure we're not sitting on our hands on this. Research Space Force's X37B and try to imagine how it might factor in here for our side. Of course, any EMP detected would require our immediate full nuclear response within seconds - subs, nukes in Europe, airborne alert nuclear bombers. 'Use Them or Lose Them Doctrine'
@@walterhill9642 thank you for this detailed response. It seems for ordinary people not much can really be done. EMP blast would severely impact anyone on the planet.
@@KrokisMtl You're welcome. Remember that because of the angles involved, and particularly the bounceback angles from the core, these are 1200 mile or so longitudinal slivers of the planet for each detonation. Yes, there's absolutely not much that can be done after it happens. IMO, this is really why those "We need to harden the power grid" calls go unanswered. It just isn't going to matter with the real EMP threat we face, so why spend trillions to do it? I think the much bigger existential question for us is this: "How do we maintain deterrence with this capability? Nuclear Peace has been maintained by the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction. If you can render an opponent defenseless in 30 seconds, this concept is gone - and then all parties need to see first strike as the only viable chance to not be nuked yourself. I think the secret for the US is to continue to push our nukes around the globe. An enemy is not going to open a war by EMPing themselves, so having as much strike capability close to their borders is key to maintaining deterrence. We're going to be entering a very precarious and dangerous time.
Hope Ron is well with his health! $600K for this shelter?! Must be some well to do investment broker. We are only 18 miles from a US Naval (or NATO base as some say) in the south eastern Med. My question why does it seem like this bunker is going in less dirt than your normal small bunkers , also this kinda looks like kentucky ballistics sight , where he records.
It's under 6 feet of earth which is probably optimal. Blasts from any explosions are not going to bother you in a steel shelter 6 feet below the ground unless an extremely large bomb drops directly on top in which case you'd need to be so deep as the shelter wouldn't be practical or would costs millions to build. Besides, if you were trapped you have a chance of digging yourself out. Anything under about 10 feet deep and you've no chance!
