    I love the birds, beautiful, especially the babies, they smell good, like baby pigeons. I do miss them.

      Hey there! Only a few months! I built this loft and got these birds in July!
      These birds are from a local guy who breeds them here in Rochester, NY. They have proven to be very robust and reliable birds. A lot of muscle in the hand, but not pedigreed. Thank you for your comment!! 🇵🇭

    Play a crow call cd on a boom box when your pigeons are out flying. Crows hate hawks and will drive them away. If hawks hear the cd they'll stay clear of the area.

    Great video.... Once they flock, they will be safer from Falcons. Though falcons can still take them out, so not 100%. Beautiful white Pigeons. Once they flock, they'll be show stoppers.

    So did they all make it back? Lol. Beautiful birds man. I’m starting my own flock of white Homers as well. It’s going to be a slow journey but I’ve got one official pair sitting on eggs as we speak.

    You never scare birds when you're settled in though. Never you never scare them when you scare them. They will never come back. Let the birds do it on their own do not push them

    There are so many....other, easier ways to break these birds in. Always keep them hungry and never push them. The location is good. The Loft is good. Just let them flap around. I would break birds in best during the late afternoon using barley. If I let out 50 new birds, I would lose maybe 2 or 3. Sometimes 0

    • @pigeonsroc
      @pigeonsroc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve learned that keeping them a bit hungry really helps. I’m not familiar with the barley idea though. I’d love to hear more about that! Luckily they all came back from this flight! Thank you for your comment Jaylo!

      How long you kept them in before flying them

    • @jayloynn1388
      @jayloynn1388 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Leek Wynder 2 weeks is enough time. During the 2 weeks, I would leave them in the screen/aviary all day with water only and then open up the coop/loft and feed them inside just before dark. This tactic will cut your losses dramatically....and they will be accustomed to the schedule. So now! The day you let them out, do so 3 hours before dark. This way....they know it's time to go into that coop/loft before dark...to eat and roost for the night.

  • @richardscurlock8708
    @richardscurlock8708 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should’ve just let them fly by themselves and not scared them sometimes you lose birds that way
