There are so many songs that have a lot of potential and this is definitely one of them. It's way too repetitious and needs a solo in between the beautiful chorus. The fix is simple, add two versus with a soloist then return to that great chant of a chorus. ...Something like....bore our sins, sweat on his brow, blood streaming down, pierced in his side. A lot of people in church love this type of traditional sound, but we need more of the word included in our worship. There's no end to the scriptures that could be used to construct two versus for this solo. Would love to hear Joe Pace sing them.
Sometimes the simpliest message is the most direct and power-filled message that can be delivered through praise and worship. I have seen this song move the Holy Spirit in the most rigid believer.
