Mahler's compositions will remain forever. Ewig The sky will forever blaze blue and the earth will endure steadfast and blossom in spring, but you, human, how long will you live?
Bravo! Brilliant performance indeed. I particularly enjoyed the flute solo at 33:43. The gorgeous sound of the soprano and flute really makes me emotional. I was just wondering, I've seen the flute player that I mentioned plenty of times on the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra channel as a alto flutist. She's absolutely Amazing!🎶
So much beauty!!! Mme Cargill is an absolute artist ❤ Marvellous orchestra 🌟 played with sensibility and emotion 💗 The principal oboist and hornist are really outstanding. Can someone help me to find out who is the horn player please 🙏 I went on the WDR website and he is not there. Thank you WDR !!
It is now 02:30AM, still midnight in Japan. I am enjoying this performance, Klaus Florian-Vogt's tenor songs, in particuler. He often comes to Tokyo to sing Richard Wagner and I have seen his Lohengrin more than ten years ago. That was still my best Lohengrin. Bravissimo!!!
Does Klaus Florian Vogt give you the same as a true tenor? Have you never heard great singers? But what about in the world of music? What about the public that likes anything imposed by marketing? He sings as if he were a child, and not a man as he should be. It is awful.
The Last song , "Abschied" is without doubt one of the most profoundly deep & beautiful pieces ever written. Period.
It is beautiful 🤗
Mahler. Immer wieder beeindruckende Musik.
Vogt remains a superb singer...posessed with an evenness of tone over the full compass of his voice. Bravo Klaus. 🎹
Danke!
Wir freuen uns auf Sie.
Stunning performance! Thank you WDR for promoting civilization!
Music goes hand in hand with civilizations.
Thank you, a great way to start our New Year’s Eve tonight

Ich war dabei: ein tolles Konzert!
Danke!

Karen Cargill is so graceful. I'm glad the musicians aren't wearing masks, like some other orchestras were doing during the mask insanity.
33:15 42:00
Not the right voice for Mahler. This is opera...
not bad. tenor has short breath.
24:17 "nobody can hear it anyway"
Who’s translate the Chinese title? This is NOT「德意志之歌/ The song of the Deutsches」! This is 「大地之歌/The song of the earth」! Please make it correct 😢
Hi,
we are not responsible for the translations, as they are an automatic feature. For this reason, we don't have any influence on the translations.
@@WDRKlassik Oh I see 😂
Klaus Florian Vogt is just so terrible.

I call der abschied "the Jewish song". I hear a klezmer mizrahi tune on it.
And this is the modern singing...my god 🤦♂️
Sorry, aber der Bariton ist einfach grauenhaft...
Never mind the tenor's voice, he can't count...
