That is awesome! Same to hear similar from Rio Herwindo in the reply comment. I almost gave up violin at age 12... but then TH-cam became more and more popular and a handful of Vengerov videos were posted.... and I had a rebirth! I went from being told to practise for 20 minutes after school by my parents, to picking up the violin whenever I could and playing for an hour, an hour and a half.... sometimes 3 hours! Vengerov single handedly "saved my life" in a way and I have him to thank for my career choice. He is a legend !
Congratulations to your technical team it sounds like a quality studio recording. However my admiration is unbounded for the two of you. In sync, in tune and incredibly great Strauss.
This is a wonderful performance showing technology's innovation! Vengerov and Saïtkoulov are wonderful pair! A big congratulations to the audio/visual engineers who set up the real-time connection between two completely different regions. It worked seamlessly and they deserve much praise! This particular performance obviously couldn't be done without them. Applause for the two master musicians, and extra applause for the people behind the scenes (masters in their own right)! Love from me in Australia!
Wonderful! Thank you. My violin teacher played this piece as part of her final graduation concert (Royal Academy of Music, London). So I'm guesing it's one of the most difficult sonatas to master!
I am listening to it almost 9 months later than it was live-streamed or recorded, and of course while listening I read almost every comment (it is always so interesting to read comments on the performances of celebrated musicians), and I think I could answered one of the guess of how they reached such a synchronisation while performing remotely . It is somewhat studio technique, I would guess. Which gives you the control of sound controlling of each separate instrument. But technically it is complicated and for the musicians with such challenging music is a pure adventure. I keep watching Maxim Vengerov since August 2021 and getting inspiration. Great job and I am personally very happy your videos exist, your masterclasses, it is always time spend with purpose and for pleasure. Bravo
Dear Maxim and Rustam, the sound balance was perfect (I'm on Long Island, New York). I don't think it would have been better had you both been in the same room. This is an amazing innovation in performance; players being hundreds, even thousands of miles apart and sounding like they are performing in the same studio. You are pioneers! THANK YOU!!! P.S. Thanks for playing the Strauss sonata. It is underplayed and that is a shame, it is one of the great works for piano and violin!
To give myself a credit, I had amateur classical training in flute and piano and listen to the genre quite a bit but you really stand out. Out of all these people playing all kinds of instruments, you are different. Thank you for that.
Bravo! It's amazing! I teach violin and viola over the internet, and it is VERY difficult. I really look forward to more. Huge success!! P.S. I want a lesson 😀
Marvellous performance. So how does Vengerov hear his pianist? It must be through the speaker sitting on the piano (that's why it's on the piano). So then how does it not get picked up by Vengerov's mic thereby setting up a feedback loop?
Нет, синхронизировать грубо говоря попадание в такт онлайн можно, но вписаться в фразировку и оттенки солиста невозможно. Лучше всё-таки играть дуэт в одном зале, а публика онлайн это ОК.
This sonata is a dream and Maxim plays it like that...
Mr. Vengerov, you are one of the reasons, I started learning Violin. Thank you so much for this precious musical gift to us!
he is my hero too
