This video was a blessing to me. Used to live a sexual sinful life of promiscuity and I fully repented two years ago. Have been completely single since not having any intimacy with anyone. The lord is sanctifying me and preparing me for my future bride!
Over a year ago I told God, “I don’t want a relationship right now because I don’t want it to take over my mind and change my relationship to You.” And God answered me, “Who said it HAS to change anything about us? As long as you always make time to make OUR personal relationship grow, you’ll be just fine.”
SO good! I have been single for 25 years- never dated anyone before. Sometimes I go through seasons where I feel like “What am I doing wrong???” or “There’s something wrong with ME that I’m still single” (obviously the enemy), and other seasons where I’m super thankful for being single. I definitely need to deepen my quiet time with the Lord and just continue to trust Him and seek Him in this area of my life!
There’s something weird and unjustifiably boastful about you qualifying yourself as having been single for 25 years when the truth is that you’re 25 years old and….
I always don't do this to people on TH-cam but God told me to tell you. That your life and TH-cam channel will grow bigger than you imagine. Don't get discouraged, because you are changing lives.
What God said to him while they hugged already changed my life. It encourages me to wait. I noted it down. My favourite Bible verse also has to do with waiting Isaiah 40:31 „But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.“

You are right indeed that the best is yet to come. Regardless of what happens on earth out ultimate joy and fulfillment will be realized in heaven and in His presence. That is our inheritance and His promise to us. This is not our best life :)
As Christians, we are called to grow in the likeness and spirit of Christ. Whether single or married, this is our ultimate goal and purpose because it brings glory to God. Spiritual growth is not a means to an end, a quest for a reward, or a trade for what you desire. Rather, it is the living sacrifice of love, obedience, and thankfulness to our Lord for His amazing grace. This is why I am often wary of the assertion that earthly blessings are necessarily attached to spiritual maturity. Singles often hear the assertion that if they simply focus on their relationship with God and grow in righteousness, a spouse will suddenly appear. I have heard this on more than one occasion and it always rings hollow. This is not because growing in grace and truth is unsound advice, but rather because it is unscriptural to assert that realizing our earthly desires necessarily hinges on spiritual maturity. As stated above, the point of spiritual growth is to become more like Christ, not to get what we want on earth. Now, of course it is true that living in obedience and righteousness and conforming ourselves to the image of Christ can and will bring about blessings. Psalm 1 demonstrates this principle. Correspondingly, a life of sinfulness and disobedience will not bring about the blessings and peace found in a life renewed and regenerated by the redemptive work of Christ. However, there is no guarantee that we will be given what we desire while on earth even if we are walking in faith and truth. Spiritual maturity will not guarantee a spouse or health or earthly happiness. I know spiritually mature Christians who have remained unmarried for years upon years (despite longing and praying for a spouse) while other, less mature, carnally-minded Christians already have spouses and are enjoying all the benefits of such a relationship. Often, people will point to Christ's words in Matthew 6 as evidence that if a person seeks the kingdom of heaven and God's righteousness, all things will be "added to them." However, many Christians starve to death, many are murdered for their faith, and many will live earthly lives that are utterly lacking in certain pleasures, enjoyments, and blessings that are showered upon others who seem to be living more unfaithful lives. Does this mean that God is unfaithful? Was Christ being misleading? Not at all! Rather, it demonstrates that the ultimate fulfillment of God's promises are not found on earth, but rather in heaven. Spiritual growth and maturity do not guarantee earthly happiness. They do, however, store up a treasure of eternal joy and union with Christ in heaven. 1st John 2:25 says, "this is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life." Until we fully realize this promise in His presence, we must learn to follow Christ's examples and pray "not my will, but Yours be done," no matter how painful or confusing God's will appears to be at the time. C.S. Lewis wrote, "I didn't go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of port would do that. If you want religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don't recommend Christianity." This may sound like an indictment of Christ and God, but it is not. What Lewis is saying is that we are Christians not because it always makes us happy in an earthly, physical sense, but rather because it is the Truth. There are plenty of wider, "happier" roads to travel and gates to pass through that lead to destruction. God may never bring a spouse to many who desire one. Such pain must never shake our love for or trust in God. In the words of Job, "though He slay me, still I will trust in Him."
@@aliciasandy2042 Exactly so and well said. It can be a seemingly obvious yet often ignored truth because it takes the proverbial training-wheels off the Christian life. Yes, good things come to those who wait on the Lord. Yet, a person who meditates on the Word is like a tree planted by living waters. Yes, our Lord gives good gifts. Yes, all things work together for all those who love God. Nothing about these promises, however, suggest they will necessarily be fulfilled on earth. But every one of these promises can assuredly be fulfilled in heaven, in His presence. .

Hi guys...great perspective! I'm single and have definitely gone through the "learning curve" (both emotionally and spiritually) of my singleness journey. It's taken me a while...lol...but I can honestly say that it's as if my desire has been reversed and I want to hold on to my "alone-time" with God for as long as possible until He says... Baby girl....it's time!😊 . I cherish my "spiritual freedom" as I can wake up in the morning and decide to fast as I'm led even though it wasn't planned, and I don't have a husband to consider. 🤭 #journalsofthesinglechristian lol. So even though marriage is something I still desire (OF COURSE) ...I truly understand how precious singleness is...and I'm just committed to being consumed by God until my season changes. I'm so grateful and blessed to have chanced upon you guys! I started watching yesterday from the video about your love story and I just got hooked as I moved on to your videos talking about your testimonies, conflicts and Dave's struggle with pornography, and now this one. The amount of authenticity, selflessness and intimacy in your relationship is clearly evident in all your videos and is really a testimony of God's glory and grace and His work in both of your lives! The best part is, I can clearly see how those qualities in your relationship is a reflection of both of your relationships with Jesus, and that has really inspired me to live out this season of singleness (possibly several years because I've just started university) solidifying my relationship with Jesus, spending time with Him every day and learning to long for only Him. For me, there are some things I need to get right within my heart first. That may not be the case for you, but please remember that like Brit said, there's a reason. We don't know all of the details because we only see a small portion. However, when your Boaz comes and you two share your testimonies, you may understand a bit better why it took so long.

This has been one of my prayers and has been on my heart. My goal for this new year is to draw nearer to the Lord. I started to really feel that and feel self love on another level the last couple of months of 2019 after I started to attend a bible study and go back to church. This has brought such comfort to my heart. 2020 is going to be a good year. I can feel it. I pray everyone is growing nearer to the Lord and is realizing their worth in Him. Just a random side note, please read all- When I first found your channel and I was not a fan. I only realize now that it was because you were challenging my thinking that society has drilled in my mind. I found this video through one of your Q&As where you talked about intimacy. Part 2, yes please. I just stumbled upon this as I have been watching many similar videos and yet I learned so much. At first it was a bit hard to concentrate as you two have different ways of speaking. I realize that in many parts of my dating life I have been wrong and still am doing wrong... but first I need to be obedient to my Lord. And just be satisfied in Him. Thank you. amen!! also it could be beneficial to focus on building and stewarding the relationships (family/friends) that you do have in your life in the time of singleness. One perspective of singleness in the world's view is so self-focused and all about what you can gain from it until you get into a relationship, and then once you get into a relationship youre expected to suddenly learn how to be selfless and be there for your significant other. and to no surprise ppl struggle with the giving part of their relationship because they spent all their time in singleness taking. so something that has been helping me is learning how to cherish and work on the relationships i have now to prepare myself for a romantic relationship. it also helps to take the focus off of that ONE thing we dont have and look at aaall that we have currently, because there is so much!! God gave Adam and Eve the WHOLE garden to eat from excluding ONE which he advised them not to eat bc it would kill them. Take a look around! He's not just keeping you from a romantic relationship, he's 1) looking out for your best interest and 2) he has given you so much good right now!! :)
This is the best advice video I’ve seen from you guys so far. It was such a blessing to watch and see a strong couple with hearts completely and utterly focused on the Lord instead of simply how they are seen by each other. That last comment that David said was given to him by the Holy Spirit about wallowing in self pity after being given the “family vision” was exactly what I needed. I now know that I need to prioritize Him much greater in my personal life than I have been lately and to continue in the obedience that He has called me to. I need to be satisfied with the possibility of not having a family in the future and be made complete instead by Jesus Christ in serving others and volunteering my time, not expecting anything in return. Man, I have been struggling with this selfishness for so long. Thank you both so much for your obedience and willingness and love for God and for spending the time it took you to create this video.

It's 1 am in the morning and I randomly came upon your videos. This video is such a blessing to me because it was a confirmation of what the Lord has been telling me for the past couple of months. He wants me to truly look for him without idolizing the idea of being in a relationship just so I can be married by a certain age. May God continue to bless your marriage.
I was engaged and we broke up and all for God’s glory, God has perfectly designed relationships and marriage when it’s fulfilled according to His will. It’s been difficult to know if i will ever will find a godly man after God’s own heart and that this relationship wouldn’t hinder my relationship with God because the last one did. Everyday I’m intentional to pray and to ask God to teach me about trusting Him that one day if it’s His will for me to be married he will do it loud and clear. Like you guys said in this singleness God is creating my foundation stronger and stronger and that is a blessing.
Thank you for this video! It gives me more encouragement to wait patiently upon the Lord until the day comes when He will say "Here is he, the one that I've been preparing for you." 😭😭😭 I've failed with my first relationship (because I thought that I could change him to follow God and relied on my own abilities) and though I knew that he was an unbeliever, I still pursued the relationship. I ended our 4 years plus relationship 2 years ago, the pain is still there and regrets too but I believe that God is healing the wounds and I don't desire to get into the same situation again.

Oh, this is so good. I love your passion for the Lord. I praise the Lord that He raised you guys to do this beautiful work for the kingdom. I was single for a long time. I got married at 46. when I felt complete. I did not expected it anymore. But now, I cannot believe it that I am married to my sweet husband for 20 years. He is all and more than I thought I want in a husband. God is good and knows us better than we know ourselves.

😭😭😭 I just want to say that your relationship with the Lord and everything you say is spot on. I've never thanked the Lord for my singleness. I always thought I would be married and have kids by 25 and I'm 32, single, never been married and no children. It is so hard because of society and the body of Christ. So much focus and pressure is spent on who is "the one" within the church body, and matching singles up that we forget the singleness journey and how beautiful it really is. I've come to resent my time as being single because it's been drilled into my head as a negative thing and that something is wrong with me. I know I'm going to be married and that it IS the Lord's will for my life just not right now and it's hard for me to accept that I'm still single when everyone in my life is either dating or married. Thank you. Ill probably refer back to this for encouragement and now I get to work on areas in my life that I've been trying to fill with other numbing vices to push away my longing and desire to be married.

15:50 I’ve been in a relationship where starting off I believed in God but did not know or follow or obey God. About half way through the relationship I started to feel the Holy Ghost and started my path to salvation and my walk with God.I feel like I was mistreated in the relationship and it was my very first serious relationship. I feel like God put me in that relationship on purpose to help me realize that I should be finding the love and happiness and satisfaction and peace and approval from the Lord as apposed to finding it in any human. Probably within the same week where me and the girl had our relationship broken apart I realized that I needed to be doing way better for the Lord and realized I had been doing bad by letting that person be my source of happiness and satisfaction and approval and peace and love. I don’t think it’s bad to be getting those things from other people it’s probably heavily promoted because us humans are very social creatures but I realized that I was only treating God as an almighty being instead of acknowledging that he really is my Heavenly Father and that he should be the one I go to for everything before I go to anyone or anything. I realized I shouldn’t be letting a human decide if I’m enough and that I should be more than satisfied in the Lord.

You are right indeed that the best is yet to come. Regardless of what happens on earth out ultimate joy and fulfillment will be realized in heaven and in His presence. That is our inheritance and His promise to us. This is not our best life :)
As Christians, we are called to grow in the likeness and spirit of Christ. Whether single or married, this is our ultimate goal and purpose because it brings glory to God. Spiritual growth is not a means to an end, a quest for a reward, or a trade for what you desire. Rather, it is the living sacrifice of love, obedience, and thankfulness to our Lord for His amazing grace. This is why I am often wary of the assertion that earthly blessings are necessarily attached to spiritual maturity.
Singles often hear the assertion that if they simply focus on their relationship with God and grow in righteousness, a spouse will suddenly appear. I have heard this on more than one occasion and it always rings hollow. This is not because growing in grace and truth is unsound advice, but rather because it is unscriptural to assert that realizing our earthly desires necessarily hinges on spiritual maturity. As stated above, the point of spiritual growth is to become more like Christ, not to get what we want on earth.
Now, of course it is true that living in obedience and righteousness and conforming ourselves to the image of Christ can and will bring about blessings. Psalm 1 demonstrates this principle. Correspondingly, a life of sinfulness and disobedience will not bring about the blessings and peace found in a life renewed and regenerated by the redemptive work of Christ. However, there is no guarantee that we will be given what we desire while on earth even if we are walking in faith and truth. Spiritual maturity will not guarantee a spouse or health or earthly happiness. I know spiritually mature Christians who have remained unmarried for years upon years (despite longing and praying for a spouse) while other, less mature, carnally-minded Christians already have spouses and are enjoying all the benefits of such a relationship.
Often, people will point to Christ's words in Matthew 6 as evidence that if a person seeks the kingdom of heaven and God's righteousness, all things will be "added to them." However, many Christians starve to death, many are murdered for their faith, and many will live earthly lives that are utterly lacking in certain pleasures, enjoyments, and blessings that are showered upon others who seem to be living more unfaithful lives. Does this mean that God is unfaithful? Was Christ being misleading? Not at all! Rather, it demonstrates that the ultimate fulfillment of God's promises are not found on earth, but rather in heaven. Spiritual growth and maturity do not guarantee earthly happiness. They do, however, store up a treasure of eternal joy and union with Christ in heaven. 1st John 2:25 says, "this is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life." Until we fully realize this promise in His presence, we must learn to follow Christ's examples and pray "not my will, but Yours be done," no matter how painful or confusing God's will appears to be at the time.
C.S. Lewis wrote, "I didn't go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of port would do that. If you want religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don't recommend Christianity." This may sound like an indictment of Christ and God, but it is not. What Lewis is saying is that we are Christians not because it always makes us happy in an earthly, physical sense, but rather because it is the Truth. There are plenty of wider, "happier" roads to travel and gates to pass through that lead to destruction. God may never bring a spouse to many who desire one. Such pain must never shake our love for or trust in God. In the words of Job, "though He slay me, still I will trust in Him."
Well written... we shouldn't trust God because of what He can do for us but because of who He is..

Yes, good things come to those who wait on the Lord. Yet, a person who meditates on the Word is like a tree planted by living waters. Yes, our Lord gives good gifts. Yes, all things work together for all those who love God. Nothing about these promises, however, suggest they will necessarily be fulfilled on earth. But every one of these promises can assuredly be fulfilled in heaven, in His presence.

Hi guys...great perspective! I'm single and have definitely gone through the "learning curve" (both emotionally and spiritually) of my singleness journey. It's taken me a while...lol...but I can honestly say that it's as if my desire has been reversed and I want to hold on to my "alone-time" with God for as long as possible until He says... Baby girl....it's time!😊 . I cherish my "spiritual freedom" as I can wake up in the morning and decide to fast as I'm led even though it wasn't planned, and I don't have a husband to consider. 🤭 #journalsofthesinglechristian lol. So even though marriage is something I still desire (OF COURSE) ...I truly understand how precious singleness is...and I'm just committed to being consumed by God until my season changes. I'm so grateful and blessed to have chanced upon you guys! I started watching yesterday from the video about your love story and I just got hooked as I moved on to your videos talking about your testimonies, conflicts and Dave's struggle with pornography, and now this one. The amount of authenticity, selflessness and intimacy in your relationship is clearly evident in all your videos and is really a testimony of God's glory and grace and His work in both of your lives! The best part is, I can clearly see how those qualities in your relationship is a reflection of both of your relationships with Jesus, and that has really inspired me to live out this season of singleness (possibly several years because I've just started university) solidifying my relationship with Jesus, spending time with Him every day and learning to long for only Him.

For me, there are some things I need to get right within my heart first. That may not be the case for you, but please remember that like Brit said, there's a reason. We don't know all of the details because we only see a small portion. However, when your Boaz comes and you two share your testimonies, you may understand a bit better why it took so long.

This has been one of my prayers and has been on my heart. My goal for this new year is to draw nearer to the Lord. I started to really feel that and feel self love on another level the last couple of months of 2019 after I started to attend a bible study and go back to church. This has brought such comfort to my heart. 2020 is going to be a good year. I can feel it. I pray everyone is growing nearer to the Lord and is realizing their worth in Him.

amen!! also it could be beneficial to focus on building and stewarding the relationships (family/friends) that you do have in your life in the time of singleness. One perspective of singleness in the world's view is so self-focused and all about what you can gain from it until you get into a relationship, and then once you get into a relationship youre expected to suddenly learn how to be selfless and be there for your significant other. and to no surprise ppl struggle with the giving part of their relationship because they spent all their time in singleness taking. so something that has been helping me is learning how to cherish and work on the relationships i have now to prepare myself for a romantic relationship. it also helps to take the focus off of that ONE thing we dont have and look at aaall that we have currently, because there is so much!! God gave Adam and Eve the WHOLE garden to eat from excluding ONE which he advised them not to eat bc it would kill them. Take a look around! He's not just keeping you from a romantic relationship, he's 1) looking out for your best interest and 2) he has given you so much good right now!! :)
This is the best advice video I’ve seen from you guys so far. It was such a blessing to watch and see a strong couple with hearts completely and utterly focused on the Lord instead of simply how they are seen by each other.
That last comment that David said was given to him by the Holy Spirit about wallowing in self pity after being given the “family vision” was exactly what I needed. I now know that I need to prioritize Him much greater in my personal life than I have been lately and to continue in the obedience that He has called me to. I need to be satisfied with the possibility of not having a family in the future and be made complete instead by Jesus Christ in serving others and volunteering my time, not expecting anything in return. Man, I have been struggling with this selfishness for so long. Thank you both so much for your obedience and willingness and love for God and for spending the time it took you to create this video.

It's 1 am in the morning and I randomly came upon your videos. This video is such a blessing to me because it was a confirmation of what the Lord has been telling me for the past couple of months. He wants me to truly look for him without idolizing the idea of being in a relationship just so I can be married by a certain age. May God continue to bless your marriage.
I was engaged and we broke up and all for God’s glory, God has perfectly designed relationships and marriage when it’s fulfilled according to His will. It’s been difficult to know if i will ever will find a godly man after God’s own heart and that this relationship wouldn’t hinder my relationship with God because the last one did. Everyday I’m intentional to pray and to ask God to teach me about trusting Him that one day if it’s His will for me to be married he will do it loud and clear. Like you guys said in this singleness God is creating my foundation stronger and stronger and that is a blessing.
Thank you for this video! It gives me more encouragement to wait patiently upon the Lord until the day comes when He will say "Here is he, the one that I've been preparing for you." 😭😭😭 I've failed with my first relationship (because I thought that I could change him to follow God and relied on my own abilities) and though I knew that he was an unbeliever, I still pursued the relationship. I ended our 4 years plus relationship 2 years ago, the pain is still there and regrets too but I believe that God is healing the wounds and I don't desire to get into the same situation again.

I got married at 46. when I felt complete. I did not expected it anymore. But now, I cannot believe it that I am married to my sweet husband for 20 years. 😭😭😭 I just want to say that your relationship with the Lord and everything you say is spot on. I've never thanked the Lord for my singleness. I always thought I would be married and have kids by 25 and I'm 32, single, never been married and no children. It is so hard because of society and the body of Christ. So much focus and pressure is spent on who is "the one" within the church body, and matching singles up that we forget the singleness journey and how beautiful it really is. I've come to resent my time as being single because it's been drilled into my head as a negative thing and that something is wrong with me.
I know I'm going to be married and that it IS the Lord's will for my life just not right now and it's hard for me to accept that I'm still single when everyone in my life is either dating or married. Thank you. Ill probably refer back to this for encouragement and now I get to work on areas in my life that I've been trying to fill with other numbing vices to push away my longing and desire to be married.

I’ve been in a relationship where starting off I believed in God but did not know or follow or obey God. About half way through the relationship I started to feel the Holy Ghost and started my path to salvation and my walk with God.I feel like I was mistreated in the relationship and it was my very first serious relationship. I feel like God put me in that relationship on purpose to help me realize that I should be finding the love and happiness and satisfaction and peace and approval from the Lord as apposed to finding it in any human. Probably within the same week where me and the girl had our relationship broken apart I realized that I needed to be doing way better for the Lord and realized I had been doing bad by letting that person be my source of happiness and satisfaction and approval and peace and love. I don’t think it’s bad to be getting those things from other people it’s probably heavily promoted because us humans are very social creatures but I realized that I was only treating God as an almighty being instead of acknowledging that he really is my Heavenly Father and that he should be the one I go to for everything before I go to anyone or anything. I realized I shouldn’t be letting a human decide if I’m enough and that I should be more than satisfied in the Lord.
