The trains look a bit like a high quality steel kitchen appliance :) That's not a bad thing though, if they are too designed they will go out of style over time. This understated steel/green look will be the same for decades to come.

No. BSR is a separate company and does not belong to CRRC. BSR, as an overhaul plant of Beijing Metro in the early stage, began to manufacture its own metro trains in the later stage.
