Hello from Canada. I must say that I am not surprised about some of the changes. However, the assignment of specific seats to a passenger may not be the best idea, considering those who are disabled who (by default) will probably be put near the front and this includes those who are blind and who may, or may not travel with a service animal. I happen to be blind from birth and would probably be given a front row seat, which isn't necessarily the best seat on the bus, given where the restroom is and I also like to listen to the RPMs of the engine and it is nearly impossible, to hear it from the center, to the front of the coach. I could get a seat at the front, but maybe there could be others like myself who are traveling and I may just happen to get a seat elsewhere. How will someone like myself know exactly where to go, without help? Are the seats numbered on buses now? If so, that may work if those of us who aer blind, are actually shown how the alpha numeric scheme of the seats would work, if that is the case. Otherwise, I usually travel light and if I do take an extra bag with my backpack, I will usually keep it with me anyway. I fully understand the minimum time allowance to 20 minutes before departure time, as people sometimes show up 5 minutes and rush to get on and sit down. When Greyhound Canada was active, I had always made sure to get to the terminal 15 to 20 minutes before returning home and 30 minutes or more, when departing from my local terminal so, that is no skin off my back. Keep up the great work.
Greyhound is getting worse and worse and making a big profit off its customers the company should be ashamed they need get rid of Greyhound and academy take its place the service is better
Not trying to kill the Messenger, but all the information and updates are greatly appreciated and sounds like a step in the right direction for this failing company. But i dont believe People not showing up "On TIME" was the biggest problem. NO BUS DRIVERS, AND WE ENDING UP BEING CONSTANTLY DELAYED AND MISSING OUR CONNECTIONS IS I BELIEVE THE REAL PROBLEM!! So how they planning on fixing that? Oh and i think i can speak for every single person who's ever rode a greyhound bus....can yall please please please, give us a way to contact the bus terminal were at, and not it connect to the poor excuse of a customer care line we all hate!!?? TY
I never heard of a single mode of transportation where if you miss you, cannot rebook the next bus. You lose all of your money, and you have to pay for the ticket all over again. I don’t even see how greyhound benefits from that by keeping your money because most people can’t afford a second ticket and if they can, they’re not gonna give greyhound more money. Why don’t they charge a rebooking fee? Keep in mind greyhound tickets are expensive nowadays. When I heard greyhound was doing that this is before flix was involved, I swore I wouldn’t give them any of my money. I know somebody out in Texas was trying to get me to bring her here and I told her not until she has her stuff together enough to get on a plane or Amtrak because I have zero faith in greyhound.
OK now I get everything else like the whole baggage thing and what not that’s understandable but ASSIGNED SEATING? Like seriously We’re not children okay like we’re not in Elementary school anymore I mean this is kind of ridiculous when you think about it Because people should be able to sit wherever the hell they want and not have any kind of problems, This is the sort of thing that Rosa Parks fought for back in the day with the whole civil rights movement and now with these new rules that Greyhound just put into place, its as if we’re undoing everything she did, I feel as if everything that Rosa Parks accomplished for us is slowly being underminded and crippled by this and I’m pissed off about it because let’s be real this whole assigned seating thing like really this is nothing more than some all around elementary school nonsense, So this is why I said earlier that I may have to avoid Greyhound for a while, or at least for the foreseeable future because THIS IS NOT OKAY!!!!!

When Did Greyhound Change Up The Rules
I guess when the new owners took over a couple years ago and started setting new rules in place. More changes to come no doubt.
