I do the exact same thing except im a toploader guy, & i also wrap an extra piece of paper around the toploader & teambag. I also tape it to the inside of the envelope to prevent the card from moving around.
I don't think moving around is a big deal and personally would say skip the tape. Tape inside is 🤢

I guess I go overboard. I do everything that you did but I add a piece of cardboard and bubble wrap. I might have to start using your method to save money on shipping

Also the people who use the plastic egg board sheets on both sides are my favorite.
I took my envelope with the cardboard and the bitch at usps told me it wouldnt ship, even tho it weighed less than an ounce, then i was like ive seen people ship them like that and she gave them back to me and said do whatevee you want
For cards above $20. Otherwise, that won’t go through USPS’ envelope machine
Neatly done. I put my single card into penny sleeve and use top loader. Then put into a regular PWE and then fold the PWE in half. Folding it in half keeps the card from falling out and gives it a bit more rigidity. I use packaging tape to tape down my label (too cheap to use stickers) on all four sides while taping down the folded envelope. Was scared it might be too rigid, but have been shipping it like this with no issues up two two toploaders in an envelope.
Factoring in for time and tape cost I think thermal labels will be cheaper for you. Depending on volume
i use index tabs on the penny sleeve to make it easier to extract the card from the card saver and i also put the business card inside the team bag instead of the envelope so its not missed
Anyone that can't pull a card from a card saver has just gotta learn
I do this exact same thing for singles (#6 envelope, penny sleeve, card saver, team bag), then blue tape over the team bag flap on a packing slip (half page) folded to fit in that envelope. All that is usually still 1 oz. Overkill, yes, but: no way the card moves, better protection for the card (I am in a rainy part of the country), and never had an issue overall.

Shipping shields are better than both in my opinion. They’re a little more rigid than card savers so they can’t bend easily and they’re not as rigid or brittle as top loaders so less problems going through machine. I’ve shipped somewhere in the ball park of 10,000 pwe orders using top loaders and had at least 10 damaged in transit incidents I can recall, still pretty low admittedly. I’ve shipped over 20,000 pwe orders with shipping shields and have had exactly 2 damaged in transit cases, one of which had a cigarette sized hole through it 😂
I bet that card saver data point would be 0... let us know in 10k more shipments! 😆

I use Shipping Shields too. One advantage to them over card savers, they are great for shipping bulk since you can store multiple cards in them.
Card in Penny Sleeve, in shipping shield, and taped on the packing slip folded on the inside, fit to the envelope so it doesn't move around. 3k+ orders, so far so good!
I use a top loader with butterfly stamp and then wrap it around one of those thick construction papers, taped to it

I use a toploader and pay a bit extra for postage so that they don’t run the envelope through the sorting machines. They process it as non machinable and that saves the card from being destroyed.
That adds up over time and is uncessary. No issues going through the machines even with top loaders but especially the way I do it with cadsavers. Many tens of thousands of shipments that way and less then 1/1000 issues
I do Penny sleeve, shipping shield, order form envelope #10. Add tape strategically.
I just don't like how wide the 10s are

I just use 2 top loaders and onetouch resealable bags (one toploader for card and one to keep it from bending easily) most people use painters tape since it dont stick but team bags/graded card bags ECT are the way to go in my opinion

Thats exactly how i do it - i use Team Bags for the last step though, bcs they are abit cheaper where i live :)
I don't think team bags are big enough for card saver 1s. Maybe you use card saver 2s?
This is the first person I’ve ever heard say no top loaders. eBay themselves says as many as 2 top loaders is okay per envelope. Have you had a bad experience personally with them machining top loaders? Always gone well for me.
Years ago with toploaders I had a couple issues nothing crazy but since using card savers I've had none and anecdotally see issues here and there with toploaders but never card savers. Hate unpacking toploader orders too as they're often taped which is terrible packing imo.

@@AP_Sportscards I've had bad experiences with top loaders and many others have too. Several of my customers sent me messages and photos of postage due of $4 on ebay because I used top loaders. I have an ebay store with over 60,000 listings.
i use the 6.5 envelope, top loader & i tape my labels on. also while taping all four sides of the envelope to ensure it won't fall out somehow. No complaints except USPS lost my Ash blossom i shipped out. But that's to be expected with mailing things in general.
Gotta upgrade to that label printer. Or at least buy the the sticky sheets

Need a team bag or graded card sleeve to protect from water damage
I don't think I've ever had a water damaged issue of any kind in shipping
I bought a $7 raw card last week. It arrived today in a penny sleeve and top loader in a bubble mailer. I can't imagine that seller made any money on the deal, and I'm confused about why anyone would ship like that for such a replaceable card.
Yeah I get stuff overpackaged all the time. Gotta save money on those cheap transactions. The $4/shipment for ground advantage is tough and costs way more in the long run than eating the very few and far between losses and scams
I dont have a label printer atm. Any suggestions on how to affix the printed out paper label on that same type of envelope?
Buy adhesive printer paper for your ink jet or laser printer

Although I don’t hate cardsavers, they don’t seem like a great way to store cards. I see WAY too many warped/bent cards because of the flexibility cardsavers provide. Just anecdotal but I’ll always prefer a penny sleeve and toploader for that reason.
I've never really seen or experienced warping in card savers personally

Use butterfly stamp so it doesn’t go through the machine and use hard top loader
Or use card saver so it does go through and it doesnt have issues being machined 🚀

It's called ebay standard envelope. I do it right through eBay it's like 75 cents but I have free shipping on listings

Influx of Pikachu/Lugia/Zapados jumbo cards at the pad 😂 so If the card is worth over $20, I penny sleeve, top load, then fold the jumbo card to make it into a “protector”. Tape on one or two side to prevent card from sliding out in transit

I use cardboard on both sides of the card. Card is in a penny sleeve securely taped inside the two pieces of cardboard. Small piece of paper protecting the card from
Skidding out of penny sleeve. I get so many great reviews. I don’t buy any cardboard just use recycled from things I buy at grocery store and cut it up. Hope this helps ppl.

Would it be ok to ship a stack of cards in a bubble envelope that don't have toploaders? To put all of these in a toploader would be more than what I'm selling the cards for lol just not sure about the mailer or not.

I use a toploader & wrap it in paper.
Slower for me and toploaders are thicker and occasionally get caught in the machines

Pick which ones you want. I mean there's peel and seal lick to seal. Security style. Whatever. #6 is just the size but yeah there's other choices. My website has a link of the specific items I buy
So when I use a #10 envelope I just also use two small pieces of tape inside the envelope so it is not sliding around inside.

I never have had any issues with top loaders, I've had over 2000 orders sent only one marked return to sender because the address changed
I had a couple thousands orders with them and only a couple issues but same amount or more with card savers and none whatsoever. I think the top loader will rarely get caught in the machines due to thickness
Does that work when going through customs? I ship from Canada and I was to reduce my shipping cost for lower cost cards but worried they will get turned away at the border
I've shipped intl this way and never had an issue. With a global forever stamp
I use washi tape. Absolutely hate when sellers use normal tape, especially on the toploader itself, then I have to spend ages cleaning them to satisfy my ocd brain. But also none of what you posted here is standard practice in the UK 😂

if they buy 2 cards that together equal above $20, is there a way to ship them separately in envelopes of their own rather than together through first class, which is more expensive but seems to be the only thing eBay is letting me do
I don't believe so unless they paid separate then you can just not combine them

You can do single packs of pokemon so I'd assume yes. As long as it sub $20
No, you can't ship jersey cards in this way. Card is too think and the sorting machines will damage the card or it'll have $4 postage due or both.
So did you choose on eBay number 6 or did you pick eBay standard and then just send that #6

Sub $20 trading card singles on eBay qualify for eBay standard envelope (ese) which is like 63 cents ish.
I'm having trouble finding that pricing .63cents. I've tried changing the category to trading card non sport. What exact settings do I need to qualify for that price🙏🏻

If im using PWE, whats stopping the person from saying they never got the card? Theres no tracking on PWE so how do you guys deal with this?
Ebay standard envelope has tracking on pwe for like 66 cents. Up to $20 sale price. Most people are honest too and the random scammer claiming non receipt is a lot cheaper than paying an extra $4 per envelope if you're on tcgp
I'm new to selling and about 10% of my sales this month have had to be refunded due to people claiming non-recieved. I'll definitely be making the switch
