Thanks! Yes, we are working on it! It's good to hear that people would be interested in it. Sometimes it's more difficult to be in front of the camera then behind it....
I would like a behinds the scenes! I learn more from watching the craft done than hearing an explanation of the craft.
I want to cry, i want to smile, i want to live, and i want to explore. Im only 17 years old, but there is one thing that i'm sure i want to do, and it this. You're videos are amazing, i admire so much your work, how do you do that? what did you study? I need i little advice for to know what to do, i hsve a idea but i don't know if it's the best. My dream is. travel, i love photography, filmmaking and writing, i would like to tell stories and enjoy each moment, i want to see each corner, each culture, each landscape.
Sorry for my bad english and thank you for read this comment.
How’d you go? Travel?
The clarity of the HD is just fantastic. Thanks for the beautiful images, keep 'em coming!
Our key goal with all our videos is to make them feel immersive and invite people to see the world through our eyes. We are all explorers and we just try to help you explore this amazing world we live in.
Josh that all I try to do in life is give you the chills.
the lens was Canon's 16-35mm, it was at a pretty wide angle to get the whole canyon in shot.
Music- A.Taylor Nostalgia
Thank! Your music is amazing as well!
Your work is always so gorgeous!
We shot a lot of it in Arizona, including Horseshoe bend and the slot canyons.
i just found your channel, and it is one of the best things i have found in my life. im super into cinematography and stuff, so watching videos like this makes my heart happy. i hope one day ill be able to talk to you and ask you questions, but until then, ill be pumpin out videos on my d5100 :)
This is Gorgeous Filmography ! Well Done !
Think of this this way to get 3840x2160 resolution you'll need four 1080p TV. 2x horizontal and 2x vertical. That might help the confusion.
The HDR Images against the Sun made me spechless. This must have been a lot of work - totally worth it!
Amazing beauty amazingly captured by an amazing artist. Hats off to you Sir.
Thank you for this amazing piece of art!
Just... gorgeous!
This is amazing... on TV with 3D.
Wow this makes me want to visit Utah
I was talking to an IT guy the other day at Best Buy. We were both looking at the 4k Sony tv. He brought up something when I said the tv would be a great monitor. He asked if I had a 4k video card in my computer. It struck me that I didn't even think about that. He said my video card was probably about 2k. He said he didn't know what manufacturer makes a 4k video card. But I know I would need one if I wanted full 4k viewing if using a 4k tv as a monitor---which I can't afford right now anyway.
Encoded at H264, it was about 6.8 gb
It's so damn beautiful. I want to visit the USA some day...
wow, the horseshoe bend at :30 is my favorite.

Sure, I'd like to link them around. I frequent the blog NoFilmSchool. I will be happy to link them there. I've already link 3 of your videos there. And I linked Jared Cook's video there too.
I link your nicest videos on my Facebook page. You make the best videos. You make Red look better than anyone else I've come across. I hope these videos make good money for you. I hope your business continues to grow. I will make efforts to link more!
God Bless You! Shalom shalom! :-)

Thanks very much !
that is what i am tlking about when i mean "HD" :D
Location at 0:30?
Когда-нибудь я съезжу на большой каньон. :)
It's 24fps, not 60.
just working hard and since we love filmmaking we put every penny we make back into our gear.
Thanks man! The Red Epic isn't cheap but it shoots an amazing image. It has HDR capability, so we can get a wide range there. We were also careful about what time of day we shot all our locations. The equipment is expensive, but we work hard. It was tough to make that first down payment when we first bought the camera a few years ago. But we knew if we wanted to grow as filmmakers we needed the right tools.
So why was this video not encoded in HDR?
the shot at 1:12 of the arch is shot on a slider. We have a great 3 foot Kessler Crane slider that pops right onto our tripod. So most of the shots you see with a little movement right or left are most likely on the slider. Shots inside the slot canyons like the very first shot were shot on our Glidecam x-22. It's the version that has the jacket with an arm and a gimbal attached.
thanks. wish we had a 4k tv too. if only someone would send us one......
Nice. Miss our Nikon after switching over to canon. Both have their plus and minuses. So love your d5100. We are always open to chat and feel free to ask us anything.
The shot of horseshoe bend at 0:30 was shot with the Cannon 5D mark III a time lapse on a moving slider.
So glad you enjoyed it! Make sure to check out our other work and let me know what you think.
ProRes LT :)
There are a few time lapses that were shot on the Canon 5Ds, for example the shots at 2:07 and 2:15 are time lapses, and there are a few more through out the video. Otherwise everything else was shot on the Red Epic.
I wish we could shoot hand held and get those steady shots....it's tough to hike in all our equipment to these locations, but it's worth it.
We were close, we were on the other side of the Grand Canyon by Page. Same area, but not much blue water.
The colors are amazing. The exposures classic. So smooth too. The rest of us can only seek to learn from you. What a great example you two are. Thank you.
Este video no esta a 60fps , porque esta en camara lenta. sera a 120 fps
will you help us make the BTS videos worth our while and share them?
1440P looks nice with the Samsung Galaxy note 4
In reading through the comments here I can see that people like your work. Your videos of nature are so beautiful. So, if you do make a behind the scenes on them maybe you should consider charging for it like you did with the Spring video. People understand you don't do these for free, and you need to make money. I think you should consider putting these type of videos onto DVD's, along with a behind the scenes of each video, and sell them. I know, like me, people like to see how these are made
I think the people that read NoFilmSchool would find your behind the scenes worthwhile. There's many profession photographers/videographers there. I am certain they could learn from you, especially on how to improve handling the Red. Like I said, your Red videos are the best.
Very beautiful!
This was made exclusively with a RED or were parts done with the Canon 5D2 and 3?
Thanks
Is that little wild horse canyon after the goblin valley shots? Looks really great! Good job.
sehr schön, werde ich diesen Sommer besuchen :-)))
Futura
one question, How big was the finished rendered file?
just curious
And are some of your shots in the Samsara documentary?
This in 3D must be beautiful! :D
i have a macbook with retina display, really looked awesome to watch but i bet it would look a lot better on a 4K TV that costs a ton of money... nice work Jacob :)
It‘s been years and I always come back to your video. I used to watch and and dream about travelling the world and just listen to this absolutly stunner of a song by Taylor. Years later and all the feeling and thoughts are coming back. Thank you guys!!!!!
Will come back all life to enjoy this masterpiece!
