The Technics fanboys are hard at work in these comments. I'm willing to bet none of them have actually heard a Naia - or even any modern Rega.

I heard the Naia just to hear what it can do Michael.. It's good and I mean for the money really good however in this 20K bracket there are a load of competitors and some better actually way better. If you like the P10 and want something more go for the Naia.. If you want imaging, serious bass then go for something else. I still haven't heard anything to change my mind about my Dohmann Helix1 V3. Although the Thorens ref might and I'm still thinking about it. great video btw ;-)

"In-Depth Look" is one thing but considering your "absolute" heritage, were you able to hear the difference between the first and second violins in one of your acoustic reference recordings? Could you hear the woodwind being in the far distance in Berlioz's fantastic symphony? Do "Living Stereo" discs sound like that and 1970s multi-track multi-mike Mahler recordings still sound like a muddy mess that lost 90% of the soundstage information? Did live and tacky "Old McDonald" by Pete Seger and his Weavers as audience sing-along in Carnegie Hall sound like a 2,000 seat concert hall while playing the recording in your smaller studio? And could you walk front to back through the soundstage between the speakers in the right zone to hear Pete and the individual musicians in row? That's not about gimmicks, but about verifying absolute sound qualities. Most reviewers today purely rely on synthetic studio recordings and hence mastering mixes that are bereft of proper phase and timbre changes associated with spatial acoustic clues. They also don't understand phase as part of non-sinusoidal sound waves and proper wave shape - basically don't understand human hearing and bandwidth. And then they forget that listening is easy but hearing needs to be learnt. I saw a master pianist select their grand for their performance and its repertoire choosing out of 5 candidates the hall had available. Each voiced a bit differently. Compared to the year before, 2 of the grands had been replaced. Testing each of them there was a description of their character and playing the 3rd candidate, the remark that "I played this one last year". Learning to recognize voices takes time and effort. Most reviewers have never heard an acoustic guitar in a real acoustic space or a violin, or ...
Absolute needs explanations occasionally. But more than looks.
How does it compare in sound to, say, a similarly priced VPI or German or ... ?

I have a rega RP 8 turntable. I bought it in rega dealer Malyasia. I got bullshit!!!! of using it. It's not durable and heavy duty. Not like Technics. Now my Rega RP I put on scrap.....
The apheta cartridge always has a problem. I broke it. It's another bullshittt... Apheta MC Cartridge.
The tone arm wire clip not strong to hold the cartridge terminal. 3 times i removed the cratridge the wire clips were broken.
It does not compensate for its durability to its price... It's a good look but it's like a styro & put mikarta on each side to make it stiff. Bulshit engineering.
I'm not happy with this kind of turntable I have so much regret for the rega maker. It's not worth it. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

yeah it’s almost like they’ve been doing belt drive for decades, it’s what they know, and the whole point of this thing is to push their particular design approach as far as it can go for a consumer product. There’s plenty of great DD options out there of that’s what you want :)
