2 km away from #Sitamarhitown is a very magnificent Janaki temple in Punaura. In ancient times, there was the ashram of Pundarik Rishi here. It is believed that Mother Sita was born in Janaki Kund located here. There is a tourism building, Gayatri Mandir, Vivah Mandap. , Sundar Park and musical fountain is also a waterfall and fountain. Poonaura is also a favorite picnic spot of Sitamarhi. Many films have been shot here. Every year a two-day grand cultural program called "Sitamarhi Festival" is also organized in Punaura Dham.

Janaki's birthplace is the ancient temple of Lord Shiva located in the village of Fatehpur Girmisani, 5 km north of Sitamarhi town. According to Puranas, this area was under the Mithila state. Once there was a famine in the whole of Mithila, then on the advice of sage sages, King Janak gave a famine. Hlashti Yajna was done for freedom from it. Before starting the Yajna, King Janak reached the village of Girmisani from Janakpur and had established this amazing Shivling here. Raja Janak started running the plow from this place and after reaching a distance of 5 km reached Punora village of Sitamarhi, where the end of the plow The mother Janaki appeared from the earth and along with it, it started raining heavily and the famine ended in the area. Due to this Haleshti Yajna, the temple established here is called Haleshwar Nath Mahadev.

इसमे जनकपुर रोड़ पुपरी के बारे में ठीक ढंग से उल्लेख नही किया गया है,
पुपरी की पहचान जनकपुर रोड़ से है,पुपरी तो एक बाजार का नाम है और बोल चाल की भाषा मे प्रचलित होने के कारण इस जगह का नाम पुपरी प्रसिद्ध हो गया
यहाँ का रेलवे स्टेशन जनकपुर रोड है
पोस्ट आफिस जनकपुर रोड है
नगर परिषद जनकपुर रोड है
यहाँ एक प्रसिद्ध स्वयम्भू बाबा भोलेनाथ का मंदिर है जहाँ श्रावण मास में कावड़ चढ़ाया जाता है, अपने इसका उलेख सही ढंग से नही किया है, जनकपुर रोड का नामकरण क्यो हुआ इसका भी इतिहास है,ये सब collect कर के इसमे add करे तो ज्यादा अच्छा लगेगा
