Beautiful spot! I love how often you see trees growing out of old stumps or logs out there! About the agates though, some were definitely on the carnelian side, and I am a fairly strong believer of the "Baja B.C." theory, but I don't think any of that qualifies as "fire agate". I was disappointed to learn that none of the orange agate with red bands I find once in a while in my LSA's can't be called fire agate either. It's a specific type of agate that has botryoidal formations which have a thin coating of goethite (this is the key to the vibrant reds, yellows, and greens in true fire agate), which is in turn sealed inside clear chalcedony.
I like to see life take hold of those old growth stumps again! Yeah it doesn’t really fit into that criteria, I can see that now, thanks for the info! Wasn’t familiar with the Baja theory- interesting stuff!
