I am so glad you mentioned as we get older not being able to utilize as many products found in the drugstore as the more high-end ones! I was starting to feel like I was becoming a snob in my older age because I did not like the way the drugstore foundations looked on me anymore and the eyeshadows just would not blend well for me etc. The exception for me is the real techniques brushes and sponges! Those are a hit from the word go for me and always will be! Thank you for sharing your favorites!

Some more drugstore suggestions: the Milani eyeshadow palette in soft and sultry is soooo good it's new. It is a cooler tone palette but not too cool. The CoverGirl vitalist healthy foundation, they have good colors and it has great coverage and leaves a nice glow! The Milani prep set and glow finishing powder, Milani rose blush palette and the single blushes are amazing, the essence pure nude highlighter is so gorgeous and subtle and it doesn't envisize texture. The CoverGirl instant cheekbones blushes are surprisingly good too! Would.love to see you try some of these if you haven't yet!

Drugstore brands have truly come from a long way from back in the day. I used to be a true makeup snob and wouldn't touch anything from the drugstore, mainly because I just couldn't find anything that worked well for me. Now, so many have upped their game and there are many dupes that are reasonably priced. Take care. - Carla

Hi, Lisa. I think some drugstore foundations are just as good as high end. My favorites are Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless 3-in-1 Liquid Foundation, Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation and Revlon ColorStay for dry skin. I also like Jordana lip liners.
I like that foundation too. My advice is don't judge it right after you put it on. I think it looks really good after it warms up and melds with your skin.
I used to be a Max Factor Junkie as well back in the day...so much so that I became a sales rep for them for a few years in my 20s....miss that brand....😉✌️💜💋

I really enjoyed the Flower foundation you were speaking about the other day. My Ulta has a display, but Walmart carries my color too. Great value for the money. I’ve never tried any of the other products in that line though.

Yes, I totally agree on CoLab eye shadow pallet ! I bought the cool tone one and yes such a great texture ,color,pigmentation ! I will go back and buy other shades ,too! This feels so high end ,love it ! I also really love their lip pencil -very smooth and beautiful colors ! Wears well all day! I also love Maybeline dreamlumi, but it is discontinued . I do not care for the other shades as much ,they are still ok , but not as pretty and brightening. And those Loreal lipsticks reminds me of YSL formula. Feels good , looks good !

My set came with a tiny brush in the same shape as the two larger brushes. I have deepset eyes and this brush is perfect to get in the inner corner. Want to get that Col-Lab palette, it is gorgeous. A great brow product that I actually use more than my Anastasia dip brow is elf. Anastasia dip brow dries up so quickly! The elf is Very good! 😍 I do love the Luminosa blush from Milani. 💕
I really like the elf instant lift brow pencil in Taupe. It’s only $2! I can’t wait for stores to get the elf Putty type primer that everyone’s comparing to the Tatcha Silk Primer.

Glad you mentioned a good drug store mascara! I thought it was just me that struggles with the darkening under the eyes! I stick to Clinique High Impact as it doesn't seem to do that. I love that one! Never use waterproof myself. Great video. ❤

Oh how I miss Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara. My favorite mascara now is Cover Girl Lash Blast. We are expecting up to 9 inches of snow here in Illinois, starting tomorrow afternoon.
Max Factor was THE brand for a long time for me (starting in high school) and then...something happened. Don't know if it was due to pregnancy but face products felt so drying. Kept trying different brands and noticed that yes, drying out my skin was an issue but also not being able to find a foundation or powder that matched. Eventually I moved on to department stores and that was that. Recently I checked out the drug store aisle and till nothing matched my skintone plus everything says "matte". Kiss of death for my older skin now. Great video, Lisa!! Loving how you're putting more videos out each week now compared to last year. Love ya!

Lisa, my husband bought me the Canon 80D camera for Christmas so I must tell you that he researches cameras a LOT (he's quite a good photographer) and thinks it will be great for me and I think this video looks really clear! I'll use it for filming (I'm a musician singer/songwriter), instagram (since it can link to my iphone) and general photography. I hope you like it; I'll be interested to see how it works for your youtube videos and if you like it, too!

Haha...I was down in NC this past weekend (Charlotte Area)...I was wearing a Sherpa jacket and furry snow boots...when I got out of the car it was 65 degrees...certainly warmer than in VA and it was only 5 hours south...needless to say my jacket came off...haha.
I have to say I disagree with the belief you can't use drugstore makeup when you get older! 🙄 I am 53 & think drugstore makeup is fab and doesn't sit in fine lines etc!☺️ 💕 Not only is it very similar in quality but also a fraction of the cost!❤️ (It's made by the big companies anyway!) ☺️ 💕
All of those L’Oreal special edition lipsticks you mentioned a few videos ago (topless, beige, sun names) were clearance at my ulta for $3! Might want to check yours clearance area!
Lisa I would love to know how many times you wear a pair of lashes before you toss them? Each person is different and I'm always amazed at the length they get out of them! I just can't get that many wears, most likely because I use coconut oil to take off my makeup. I won't give my coconut oil up but it does ruin the lashes lifetime.

I love good drugstore makeup! I appreciate that you do high end and drugstore reviews! If I skip a couple of nights without my night gurads in my mouth my teeth shift so much! It actually is so uncomfortable when I put the retainers back in if I don't wear them every night! Like my orthodontist and dentist say to me....it's a tug of war with my teeth! Once you wear Invisalign you must always wear the night guard because the teeth will move back quickly! It's really weird! Xo

I have to say I disagree with the belief you can't use drugstore makeup when you get older! 🙄 I am 53 & think drugstore makeup is fab and doesn't sit in fine lines etc!☺️ 💕 Not only is it very similar in quality but also a fraction of the cost!❤️ (It's made by the big companies anyway!) ☺️ 💕
All of those L’Oreal special edition lipsticks you mentioned a few videos ago (topless, beige, sun names) were clearance at my ulta for $3! Might want to check yours clearance area!

I have the darker one of the city bronzers and it’s actually very pigmented. I have to put some on the back of my hand before I put it on my face.
Lisa I would love to know how many times you wear a pair of lashes before you toss them? Each person is different and I'm always amazed at the length they get out of them! I just can't get that many wears, most likely because I use coconut oil to take off my makeup. I won't give my coconut oil up but it does ruin the lashes lifetime.

Hey Lisa! Thx for recommending the Real Technique brushes! I got 2 sets....loving the Loreal lipsticks too! Always loved the PF Butter Bronzer too. Yes to Luminoso....my fav! I love good drugstore makeup! I appreciate that you do high end and drugstore reviews! If I skip a couple of nights without my night gurads in my mouth my teeth shift so much! It actually is so uncomfortable when I put the retainers back in if I don't wear them every night! Like my orthodontist and dentist say to me....it's a tug of war with my teeth! Once you wear Invisalign you must always wear the night guard because the teeth will move back quickly! It's really weird! Xo
