There was an update in NFS Unbound that improved drifting significantly, but I did not have enough progress in the game to get the proper drift tires. You also need to be in online mode to access the new drift tires, not singleplayer. This video is for entertainment only (meme video btw).

To disable cartoony effects go into customisation and then go go onto tags and finally choose the classic one at the top
Does it disable it for the NPC cars in races too tho?

also the new drifting is only in online mode. After you go into online mode, you need to buy the "drift pro" tires- NOT the normal drift ones. Cant wait for you to (properly) check it out! :)

Also, you have to do this for every single car.
Drift Pro Tires, Drift Pro Events, and Drag Racing events are Online-only. Story mode players can't access any of it whatsoever unless something's been patched, and knowing EA, that hasn't happened.
This is why nfs sucks.
criterion is making the patches and they are a really small team since ea sent most developers to other games

he couldnt go sideways so he didnt give them peace in any way, but i agree unbound is a waste of time in my opinion

The new Drift Handling is multiplayer only, not sure if you did start playing multiplayer but if you go to multiplayer you might start having alot of money (1.000.000 i think).
With all of that money you can just upgrade your garage to unlock Sport,Pro,Super and Elite parts.
Now that you've upgraded your garage to Elite you have now access to the new Drift Handling, go to tires, and look for the tire named "Elite Drift Pro Tires", it costs 20k. And boom there you go, CarX drift physics in Unbound.
3:33 you can disable effect, go tags and you can see "original"
multiplayer have pro drift tires, and singleplayer dont have pro tires

This game is a full arcade racing game, it should be enjoyed with a controller. And since this is an arcade racing game with arcade (and somewhat shitty) physics, I don't think having force feedback on wheels is a good thing. For example, while drifting in this game you can flick your car from one side to another in like not even half a second, and the force feedback system will definitely malfunction with that much countersteer.
P.S. In order to enjoy the new drifting physics you MUST install the "drift pro" tyres (It's multiplayer only iirc), those "drift" tyres you're using won't do.

3:50 you can't really "disable" the effects, but they did release new effects that only have smoke, there's colors, then white and black. If you don't like the effects you have options at least. They even released a new effect with Update 7 that melts the surface as you drive, lmao, i haven't used it yet.
You can remove the effect going modifying your car and select the tag(I think) that names original

@@Goosiest it does not, its only your car. also why not at least attempt pro drift tires online seeing as you spent hours fixing the cam bug. why waste all of that time, then not even play the game. The new pro drift tires are decent actually, you can hold lots of angle. havent tried my wheel yet

Well you can disable the effects with the unite mod. Unite mod makes the game better overall

you need to disable the effects by choosing the "original" tag. go the garage - rides - style - effects - tags - choose original.

there are no npc cars in online. but it doesnt disable it for other players. it disables your cars effects. if you want to remove other peoples effects you can tell them to turn it off or install mods that disable it.

i think i saw blackpanthaa playing [pantha's most recent video, about this very update] with the effects 'off' and of what i remember it was sumthin with the smoke? like.. for example how we change the paint of the car, panthaa was changing the smoke effects too, it's probably in the tuning/customisation menu i think

Need for speed titles used to be a force to be reckoned with. It's a shame really because those of old enough to have originally played underground, hot pursuit and pro street titles would have thought that this franchise can do no wrong and stand the test of time.
Graphically this game looks great. The cars and the look of city is definitely top quality. But you just can't ignore the elephant in the game and its those awful cartoon add-on which just drags the game down.
2:23, that is alot of effort, reinstalling windows, sometimes you gotta format it if you dont have a seperate partition, did you loose all the data? or had another partition with your games and all

I got this game free (well, no, ps plus) and uninstalled after 30 minutes.
Cars handle like jet skis, and the cartoon wing/smoke/thing is just the cherry on top of the poop-cake.
Your co-driver constantly yapping the same line was literally unbearable.
I generally play ACC, F1, iRacing, but would play an arcade for fun here and there. This was literally unbearably bad.
RIP NFS franchise. Can we just go back 10 years where their games were still decent? Arcade, but fun.

Theres pro drift tires on pvp mutiplayer, but not on single-player. also, I tried the drifting physics with the pro drift tires and there pretty good
EA goes for profit rather than quality and that just shows.

I mean in the menu where you can choose what cartoony effect to use, you can choose "Basic" or smth like that, which removes the effect. But it doesnt look good and the other vehicley still have it, so its trash.
You did it wrong. You have to go in online racing. You are in the story mode.

The drift tires in Online mode they are called drift pro in ONLINE only and u need to inlovk them by getting the elite upgrade in ONLINE so good luck
