I like how Lavar is trying to get his boys to play loose and say theres no pressure but thats gotta be the biggest lie only a fool couldn't see. Basketball is the ball boys life and they would be nobodies if they didn't tear up the high school scene and prospects in the NBA. If Melo fails, then he fails up to live up to the hype, expectations, and ultimately his destined legacy. He would grow up knowing that he could not live up to the superstar life he dreamed of since he was 2 years old. The pressure every time he steps on the court is immense, and you have to accept the pressure and be able to rise above it. The method of Lavar telling his boys there's no pressure at all is going to backfire severely because deep inside everyone knows exactly how much pressure there is.

@Max Mills lol no way dude. Gelo just isn't an nba calibre prospect. Lonzo is nba calibre in passing, defense and rebounds plus he has good athleticism and size too. Gelo is a 6'5 SG, doesn't have any elite nba lvl skills apart from maybe shooting. He doesn't play defense either and is already 20. He's slower, shorter, less athletic and talented than his brothers. There was the whole shoplifting scandal too, no one's gonna pick him up unless he develops into a 3&D guy.

@Max Mills I'm a Liangelo supporter and I do think there's a place for him in the NBA even if at least a 2 way contract where he goes to g league but the problem with him is that he's not fast enough or skilled enough with handling the ball for his height. He's too short to play any forward position and not fast enough for point guard. So his only choice is shooting guard. His skills would be nice for a power forward but at 6-5 there's no way he can play that. Hes got the upper body to bang inside for rim protection and rebounds but not the height. If he was only 2 inches taller I think he would at least be in the g league already.

He'll be banned from attending to a college as a D1 player due to the brand name which includes him (shoes and sh*t like that) - colleges don't want to open their gates to players who earn an income from a brand. The scouts will divert their attention (and currently diverted- NCAA scouts) from Melo once its guaranteed he wont play D1. He will get smashed if he choses to go to the Chinese league (mostly ex-NBA players that will destroy him), the G league is too rigorous for him too (everyone has something to prove to get a ticket to the NBA). His only chance is to play in some EU country that has a ticket to EU championships (euroleague), and has to prove himself like Doncic or Bogdanovic did - which generally takes 2-3 years. Taking into account that his body is not fit to play against 27-28 year old veterans of Europe, he wont be playing in the NBA in the next 5 years (22-23 yo is my expectation). Although this is just an expectation with some good knowledge to it, things might turn differently. He might appear in the NBA out of no where after super-senioring his prep-school education to come to the NBA straight out of "highschool". Nevertheless, I want to see him compete in the NBA probably a far better pick compared to his big bro - hs basketball is a load of bullshit that reflects nothing just like NCAA basketball. For example, everyones hyped up pick Zion will most probably become the next Anthony Bennet to prove my thesis - a big guy that bullies smaller guys who eventually get shit on when they play in the NBA against their body types, or get hard injured due to their weight problems.
