Really enjoyed this vid on the goings-on at Kilchoman which show Mr Wills is passionate about not just his business but also about what consumers want and expect these days. It`s very impressive to see someone taking full control of all aspects of production from field to bottle which not only guarantees quality but also gives the business more scope to invest in it`s future. As a consumer I find `Sanaig` to be excellent particularly at it`s price point and intend to try other expressions in due course. Cheers, Ben.
I love this channel, my whisky passion grows more and more day by day, i live in the Netherlands and is there a way to even find a job in the whisky world?
Outstanding video! Your distillery videos are a great way to tide me over until I can actually get there myself. I love Kilchoman and have a Madeira cask aged one on the shelf right now and it is incredible! I have a Loch Gorm and Islay barley waiting in the wings to enjoy next. I’ve already had bottles of Machir Bay and Sanaig and enjoyed them both with the Sanaig being my favorite of the two. Cheers!
I just picked up a bottle of Kilchoman to try. It very good, so I look forward to their higher aged, age-stated offerings, once they’re available. I’m glad they didn’t just wait until they had higher aged product to put out, or used sourced barrels of whiskey from other distilleries.
My favorite distillery currently. Love the 13th edition (1 bottle gone: one open and a third in back-up). Had/have multiple other editions (Sauterne, cask, Madeira cask, a Batch strength and a Loch Gorm are all currently open on the shelf). Haven't been disappointed yet.
My favorites are The Balvenie single malt peat week Scotch whiskey and Maker's Mark bourbon. But I'm going to have to go out and buy a bottle of Kilchoman and try it now after watching this video.
Idealized, eh? I'm a tad confused. Does Wills like bourbon maturation or Sherry? I think like all of us, we want to love bourbon barrels but there's an attraction to the sherry. We want to experience the whisky as unadulterated as possible, but there's something about a wine influence that begs for innovation. Machir bay was my first serious single malt, before I even knew I was going on a journey. I was sucked in by the free glasses. I have a 9 year old single bourbon cask that is beautiful. Looking forward to a 15.
Gotta love Kilchoman. They’re really doing it the right way.

Islay 🥰
👍
Yeah why noy
In order for there to be 100% Islay whisky, you also need barrels made from Islay oak.😊
