    I remember our local comic shop having this game at one point. The limb dismemberment system amazed me as a kid. I’d say it hasn’t aged well but, I don’t think it was wowing gamers even back then.

    Fun fact: this game somehow impressed Capcom executives so much that they wanted the developers to make Street Fighter III. They eventually came to their senses and instead tasked them with making a tie-in game for the Street Fighter movie...which would hit arcades six months after the film released.

      I have to admit, Street Fighter The Movie the game is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I can't help it, it just puts a smile on my face when I see people playing it on fighting game channels.

    The bowling alley a block from my house had this game, I played it all the time as a kid. Haven't played it since, but I still have a ton of nostalgia for it.

    so, Mantazz would be half human and half human suplex machine...a potentially powerful foe, there. but why's he look like Zorak's musclebound cousin, is what I wonder

    Orion's scream of pain sounds EXACTLY the same as C.J.'s from San Andreas. Its so weird.

    That first match reminds me of the bit in Sekiro where you fight the dude in armor .

    The art is like a 12-year-old wanting to draw gore so badly.

      Or put another way : Bloodlust Software. (Their emulators were great, though, can't knock 'em too much.)

    God I remember this game in the arcade, all you had to do to win was to palm slam all 5 buttons at the same time. Technically that was not the only way to win but to defeat that you had to spend hours learning which you couldn't do because you'd keep getting your limbs chopped off by the palm slammer guy.

    I remember when I saw this at the bowling alley and it looked so cool. You could hack off limbs. But then I played it ;_;

    Been awhile since I've caught up on your vids and such. Been rewatching the Dead to Rights LPs again and wanted to check out the new stuff.
    You are rocking that beard, by the way.

    since it came up at the start: yes, in german the name "wülf" with the ü umlaut in it would be pronounced like "wylf" which, as you can probably guess, is not actually a proper german name.
    I guess it's supposed to be based on the relatively archaic german name "wolfgang" (or "wulfgang") but even then you'd usually not shorten that name just to "wolf" outside of a nick name, cause that word just means, you might have guessed it, wolf (as in the animal.)

    I know it’s trash but I have such a soft spot for this game since I played it way too much as a kid; I’ve been hoping for years you guys would play this one, glad to finally see it in the rotation

    No Bloodstorm is not the sequel to Time Killers, same developers, same dismembering, but not in the same "story"

    The control scheme sounds like it'd work mapped to the SteamDeck's four rear buttons...not that it's worth trying out.

    I can't emphasize enough how gaudy and amateurish this looked sitting next to proper fighting games and even mid-to-late 80s stuff of any other genre. Combined with the stupid teenage edgelord content in eye-searing Image Comics color, it was so out of place, like "who let this trash in here?" Besides, if you wanted over the top gore (and didn't want to waste your money on shit), you could just play Total Carnage instead.
    Hearing the story behind SF The Movie arcade makes me appreciate the guys who made this a bit more, though. I can totally respect how they tried to get straight in on the arcade biz with something a bit off-kilter and crazy; but this thing will always be an odd relic of it's time.
