Your pump was probably toast, but there are aftermarket filter socks available that fit perfectly. I've been through this before after extending my tank breather tube down below the skid plate. Sucked a lot of dust into my tank.
Yep she was a goner! The Injectors were toast too. I had tried to clean most of the junk out with no luck. I definitely learned my lesson. Thanks for the tip! I just saw the After-Market filters
I just bought a defender about 5 months ago from a can am dealer in Georgia. It was supposedly a leftover 19 model hd10 that never sold. Recently the machine started sputtering, and I think bad fuel. So I lift the fuel pump to check the gas and discover my fuel pump was covered in what a first glance appeared to be rust. Further examination and some drying revealed that it was clay!!. I've never been offroading in anything deeper than my ankles. How would you suppose this happened? Nice video btw!!
@@M3OffRoad Yes, you are you are right. I ordered the other filter, and it just went on the end of one of the vent hoses. It was not a fuel filter, despite it being labeled as one on an exploded view of the file system I found online. Thanks and sorry for the confusion!
Thanks for the info, waiting on my tank and injectors

Wonder if it was a demo. What were the miles when you bought it. Email me Ryan@m3offroad.com and I’ll help you out.
Just curious what the pump assembly and injectors are worth?
Even with my discount at Can-Am it still cost me $500 to fix it. The injectors were 105 each and the pump was 300. Thanks for watching!
Did you have any issue unscrewing the pump? I'm curious if the removal tool (529035899) is actually necessary.
I used a large set of channel locks. Wasn’t very tight, thanks for watching. If you have any issues email me Ryan@m3offroad
@@M3OffRoad I used a small pry bar and a mallet. It just needed a little persuading 😊 Thanks!
Was there beer involved? Lol jkng. Nice video.
LOL, Not my best moment for sure..... I wont forget to put it on again that's for sure
Do you know where the actual fuel filter is located? It is part # 709001120.
That’s a good question. I only know of the one in the fuel tank. I’m pretty sure that’s it
