ai models training on copyrighted material from other authors without compensation and using enough electricity to single-handedly accelerate the climate crisis is enough of a reason to not just not use it, but to condemn anyone who uses it, regardless of how much value they think they get out of it

it's like the show The Good Place, have you seen it? They argue that every good intention or action has intended consequences..!

Great perspective and completely agree. As a new writer, using AI has allowed me to focus on story structure for my first draft instead of being distracted by prose. In addition, it’s been a fun tool to better visualize characters and locations which add more depth to brainstorming. Cheers.

Nice, so it helped you to power through your first draft! What are you writing about? :)

@ I’m trying a fantasy. World building is trickier than I gave it credit for but hopefully once I have my characters in a decent place- I’ll have more brain power to flesh out the world around them. Hah!

Nice! Will do some videos about world building - what aspects of world building are you struggling with?

I use AI to find information such as the date of the new moon in March 2031 or the name of a chemistry book that details the variations a water molecule can undergo to become harmful. Using AI to write the actual story feels like cheating instead of writing my own words on the page.

That’s such an interesting way to use AI, and it really shows how much you care about building a detailed and accurate universe for your story! It’s all about finding the balance that works for you and keeping your unique voice at the heart of your storytelling 😊

not everyone comprehends novel writing structure, or how to capivate readers , a.i can write great paragraphs for you but nor form it into a working grand piece

you see, for me, the thing with ai is, it's not going to generate anything without a prompt for it. Not everything that ai makes or that's made with ai is good or has good intentions, but for every ai generated thing, whether it's an idea, a text, a photo, someone sat down and came up with an idea and typed it out to the ai chatbot. for me i love using ai to finetune story ideas, i find that they become much richer when i use ai for inspiration, but in the end, i was the one to originally come up with the idea, and im the one to pick and choose the generated ideas i actually think are good enough to be used in a story.

Absolutely, using AI as a writing assistant can take your brainstorming to the next level :) not everybody has someone to bounce ideas off!
