He's never been a Karate practioner , even if he had his Japanese white Gi/suit.
Casuals see a japanese martial practioner and call him Ryu , or Generic 🤦♂
@michaelromeo9567 Bro, I know about his martial art, his outfit, all that stuff. But I just mean when you look at him at a glance, he always looked like a pretty generic design. Plus he always has the white gi design, as well. The more elaborate Baji Quan suit came in 2. But in people's perception, he's always been "martial arts guy" in design. This new one is going in a totally new and interesting direction with more immediate character.

The biggest surprise was the Clive reveal for Tekken 8 that separate a lot of the players between posivity&Negativity

Clive looks so sick. VF6 I hope is more like an evolution in mechanics and maybe some kind of story
And it's not going to be VF6 either! Numerically yes, it's 6th instalment in the franchise, but lore wise to me this looks more like a setup for a hard reboot! Remember the last game was released 20 friggin' years ago, 20 Carl! So many has changed since then, that hard reboot is the only thing that would make any sense and from the looks of it it appears so they are doing it!
Akira looks vastly different now, instead of being Ryu's rip off (yes Ryu of SF came way before Akira of VF, even though VF is the pioneer of transitioning from 2D to 3D when it comes to fighting games...) he looks like a dude from Yakuza (makes sense considering it's from the same devs...) and seems to be acting as one too or someone from Shenmue or Sleeping Dogs...he doesn't resemble his old stereotype any more putside of using the same fighting style, not to mention that Sarah is now err...Stella?! And is at least decade younger?! Lol Too many changes for just a random sequel appearing magically 20 years later is if previous one was released 3 or 4 years ago...so once again - a reboot makes more sense!

I always equate Virtua Fighter to Dragon Quest, for some reason. Both franchises are similar. They're both pioneers. Virtua Fighter is the first 3D fighting game, and Dragon Quest is the first real RPG to popularize RPGs. However, they both got overshadowed. Virtua Fighter got overshadowed by Tekken, and Dragon Quest got overshadowed by Final Fantasy. They're all amazing series though. The gameplay in Virtua Fighter is actually much better than the gameplay in Tekken, but most people don't know that because they won't give the game a chance. Similarly, Dragon Quest is just as good as Final Fantasy and arguably better in some instances, but it just hasn't been as popular as Final Fantasy.
The main difference is that Square Enix has at least kept up reasonably consistent releases (new titles once every five or so years with re-releases sprinkled in between). VF has been left in the wilderness without any new releases for so long. But yeah, the two franchises follow a similar trajectory, especially outside of Japan.
@kizzmequik70four Virtua Fighter is also more realistic than Tekken, just like Dragon Quest is more realistic than Final fantasy. Dragon Quest isn't as focused on Sci-Fi stuff and what not. Dragon Quest wasn't as focused on graphics and fancy special effects as Final Fantasy was all the way up until Dragon Quest 8. Dragon Quest has always given me a similar vibe as Virtua Fighter and vice versa. Virtua Fighter and Dragon Quest have also been EXTREMELY popular in Japan, but not so much in America.

A Virtua Fighter when they say balance adjustments they're talking about the continuation of combos
It's a lot of things. There are patch notes but they're only in japanese afaik
They absolutely need to bring back the multiple throw escape (MTE) system from VF4: Evolution. You should be able to escape multiple throw types within a small window of opportunity, instead of having to GUESS which throw your opponent is going to use, and only escape 1 throw. You should be able to escape 4 different types of throws at the same time like you could in VF4: Evolution. I hate that they changed that in VF5. It imbalanced the gameplay and made it more like a casino.
It was only FS that changed it. It was the same as always in vanilla 5.
@@cardsharpHS hmm...it was a bad idea for them to change it. I haven't really played VF5 and its various iterations, but it still looks insanely fun from what I see. I spend most of my time playing Tekken when I play fighting games. I used to be a VF4E fanatic. I played nearly everyday for 2 years straight.
@@cardsharpHS they should put the MTE system back in VF5US and also in VF6. You should be able to escape all grabs at once, if you have the skills to do it, or you should be able to at least have a 67% chance at escaping grabs. The current 33% chance is BS, and it makes VF scrubby, even though it's still deeper than probably any other fighting game. The MTE system was fine the way it was. It never should've been removed.
@@shaolinprince777 I understand why they changed it but, like you, they should have maintained it. In fact, this is how you improve it. Include MTE but keep the timing windows the same as VF3. That way, only a skilled person can pull it off. That's the way.
@@EAprima it was already hard in VF4E. Only the pros were able to escape 4 out of 5 or 6 throws at a time. Advanced players were able to escape 2 or 3 grabs at once out of 5 or 6. Beginners to intermediate players were able to escape 0 to 1 grab. I think it was perfect the way it was in VF4E.
They really should do a poll and give only the pro players access to a beta copy of the game, let them play to their heart's content, and then see what the pro players like and dislike about the gameplay. That's how all fighting games should work in my opinion.

Also, another thing: they really need to add a deep and immersive storyline to VF6. I hope it's a serious story that is able to blow Tekken's story out of the water. It's not hard to beat Tekken's story. Just make it serious and emotional. Tekken's story is trash; it's goofy. Fighting games should have serious stories with maybe a little humor thrown in every now and then, just like the kung fu movies. The perfect Kung Fu movie is Shaolin Prince.

One final thought I forgot to mention: I'm not sure why they've decided to make the VF5US tournament for steam only, but they also need to fix that. Anybody on any platform should be allowed to compete in it, unless that's what they meant. The way they made it sound, it sounded like only people who play on Steam can compete in it.

@@davidsentanu7836 That's exactly the reason. I think everyone need to request SEGA to release REVO for the Series X and PS5. Hopefully they already have it planned to be released for it doesn't make sense not to do it. Also, they need to include CROSSPLAY so Steam Series X and PS5 can all play against each other. Of course, I don't need to sell in the idea of how important crossplay is for this game.
Instead of R.E.V.O. which means... nothing? The R is obviously for Rollback but the other letters are just there for aesthetics.
They should have named it Virtua Fighter 5 rb (for roll back) as a nod to Virtua Fighter 3 tb.

You don't know squat. VF games traditionally shat on pretty much everything in their eras. VF series was as famous as a tech demo as it was a masterclass in 3D fighting game design.
