Some time ago I purchased a new needle threader from Bernini Jeff, as mine stopped working. I was chicken to try to replace it myself, and it sat in my drawer for months. Being a Sr, my hands fail me. Today I was tired of struggling and decided to give it a go. THANK YOU BERNINA JEFF! It was so easy!
Many, many thanks, dear Jeff, for your helpful videos! This one saved my life. when my Bernina 570 QE was new, in the beginning I made almost everything wrong with the threading and so the needle threader didn´t work anymore. Because of your video I purchased a new one and today I changed it within 1 minute, it was so easy! I have one more in case I destroy the little pin again. 🙂 Best wishes from Berlin in Germany
Thanks, Jeff! I managed to separate the tiny metal bit from the grey plastic bits of my needle threader. The images on your video helped me figure out how to remove, reassemble and reinstall it. ❤❤❤
Thank you Jeff, I am very new to my Bernina 570 and I was very worried about trying to fix it myself, but I could see that the spring had popped out at the back of the threader, I just didn’t know how to fix it, after your tutorial I got it fixed, and I am so glad that I don’t have to take the machine to the dealer. Although it is going to the dealer very shortly for its first checkup.
Hi from France :) Jeff, thank you so much, you saved my life :D ! I've just bought a 790+ a month ago (a brand new one !) and disaster ! my threader didn't work anymore, the spring went away with the little rectangular piece and I was very angry with Bernina (I'm still because it's unacceptable after one month of use to have the threader broken, and for the price of this sewing machine, it's a shame !). I succeeded to remove the threader and to put the spring in place and it's working ! Not very very well but it works ;) I will purchase at least 3 new threaders lol ! Thanks a lot once again.
Thank you so much! I couldn't find any help about changing the needle threader in Germany. I'm so glad, I found you!! I subscribed immediatly! Thanks a thousend times!!
Thank you for this video. My metal part fell off on the threader along with the spring. I attached the metal back on the grey Plastic without the metal spring and was able to thread my needle.. :)
I have been eternally frustrated with using the needle threader. It usually takes me about 4 tries each time I try to use it. In fact, I have ruined two threaders by damaging the thread hook wire. After replacing it the second time, at a cost of over $50, (in other words, I'm on my third threader) I just do it manually for fear I will break it AGAIN. However, I am going to watch you do the threading a few more times (maybe even in slow motion) and carefully give it another try. I enjoy your tips. I have the 75th Anniversary Model 435 Bernina (with the 9mm stitch width).
I just replaced my threader this morning and used Jeff's instructions on how to thread the needle. Easy. Also make sure that you have the threader up all the way. I needed to use a narrow piece of wood for extra leverage. I used my wood back scratcher.
Thanks for the video; my needle threader on my B790 just stopped threading yesterday & I am very gentle with it anyway, so I watched your video & now I know all about to replace it. My thin metal wire piece was exposed (U shaped piece) & I was able to place it back in place but then I see the wire portion that grabs the thread is bent, as you described in video, so I am going to replace mine.
Great video - thanks. Unfortunately, the black plastic tab that you pull down the needle threader with your left index finger has snapped off on my machine. Is it possible to get replacements for this plastic part? If so, what is it called? I have a Bernina 160 and the threader is useless without the plastic tab to pull it down :(
Ha, mine arrived in the post yesterday too, great timing! Jeff, you said that you rebuild the needle threaders, my needle hook on the threader goes to the right side of the needle instead of going through the eye, what can I do to fix it? Thank you, I really appreciate these tips, as my dealer is about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. 😃✂️🇦🇺
Hi. I removed mine ( I didn’t bother taking out the needle or foot) . Machine was turned off . I flicked it off and moved the little metal hook with my finger in the opposite direction. Good luck 🤞
Thank you so much! I've had BERNINAS for 25 years and have been pretty comfomtable fixing the hook part of the threader. BUT, today the spring seems out of place. Can I just pop that back in?
Nevermind, I just popped mine back in. I had ordered a replacement and looked at that carefully to see where the spring needs to be.All I needed was a really good light. Thanks for enabling me. I'll keep the extra for one of my other BERNINAS.
Hi Jeff, I hope you can help me please. Can you tell me or point me to a video that can replace the threader for the Bernina 880 plus? It's stopped working for absolutely no apparent reason. I've cleaned it well, tried different needles, rebooted several times, etc. I can't tell where or what the damage is, so am wondering if I should just replace it. I would take it to "my" dealer, but they always have a minimum four week turnaround and my life is too short to be without my machine for that long. (I just had it in a few months ago and had to wait five weeks. I'm in Atlanta, so it makes no sense that there is not more competition.)
Have you tried the threader cleaning routine in the settings mode. It drops the threader half way down so you can clean the fuzz out? Otherwise a trip to the dealer is required. You notice I do not do 8 series videos I’m not a fan they are too fussy
how do you reposition the wire spring on the needle threader? mine has popped out. No schematics to be found online to show how to put it back properly.
That spring can go back in the correct place but my phone will not focus that close to make a good video, plus it takes perfect close up vision and a special tool. Some dealers will repair them but most just will sell you a new one. If you send me the parts I will repair it for you for $15 if it can be fixed some of the metal and plastic parts can get damaged. There is a mailing option for about $1.50 if its less than 3 oz and in the proper size padded envelope.
@@berninajeff Thanks, used magnifier on video and the part and got it put back into place. It is working now. Will save this reply in case it happens again. Thanks so much for your tutorials and your reply

Jeff, you are the man. Thank you for closeup views on what you are doing. I can understand everything you are demonstrating.
Thanks Jeff. By showing me how it works I was able to repair my threader when the metal part detached from the plastic shank. You're a star.
Thank you sew much! I am now able to use my needle threader again!
I love these videos Bernina Jeff!
Jeff, your timing is perfect! My new needle threader arrived yesterday!!! 👌🏻

I’ve never used my needle threader. Couldnt get it to work or else it’s broken. Sooo I thread it with my fingers. Works every time.
Thank you so very much for this tutorial. I am so happy I was able to use this information to replace my needle threader.

I have an older 830(love it). This automatic threader isn't placing the thread in needle. Can I fix this?
Thank you for this video. I have a. Bernina 435 and I to find it difficult to thread the needle with this method.
Practic it’s a learned technique

Use the Bernina tweezers or a size 12 needle and carefully bend/tweak that hook to find the needle eye. Best if you try to bend back past the tip.
Can u show us how to fix it when metal falls off from plastic
What about the Q-Series machines? Q16, Q20, Q24? Is the threader the same?
Question is there. A needle treader for 930 bernia sewing machine?
Great info thanks!

Do you sell replacement needle clamp screws for 750QE?
Yes call the shop 970-256-1293. Why do you need a new one?
@@berninajeff screwdriver notch stripped, Bernina screwdriver no longer will loosen it. have to use pliers on outside now to loosen to charge needle

The star one, but the local shop sold me the red star one. I just ordered the correct one from your shop. Great folks, really helpful
