I remember my Mom repeatedly quoting Psalm 23 when she was battling with heart and kidney diseases. Psalm 23 became her prayer of worship and it gave her strength, comfort and peace. She trusted God completely no matter what. This is one of the verses that I also cling to that gives me hope everyday. His goodness and lovingkindness will follow us all the days of our lives and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever

I grew up in a single wide trailer with 8 of us. With my dad inheriting my grandfather’s land. We didn’t have a fancy home. We had old vehicles which my dad worked on them. We ate home cooked meals we didn’t eat expensive food like seafood or steak’s. No Restraunt’s. Didn’t have lot’s of toys . Wore second hand clothes. My dad made very little income. But he would cut wood or cut Christmas trees to sell them. We weren’t poor according to God’s word we we’re rich because God always provided for us, roof over our heads, food and clothing. We we’re the healthiest kids. We we’re not overweight at all. We we’re active. We chopped wood . We hung clothes outside on a clothes line. We didn’t grow up with nice cars or junk food,or lots of clothes, or go on vacations. We lived a simple life and most important is God’s covering over our life’s. Now as an adult, I have a wonderful husband and wonderful 3 boys. A 1600 square feet home. I try to keep it simple. We went camping. The boys enjoyed camping more then going to San Antonio Texas vacation. I’m grateful for my upbringing. I try now as an adult not to get caught up with material things. Just what I can afford, only necessary things.
Psalm 23 is my favorite book of the bible i study it all the time 🙏
I have listened to this psalm everyday since 2020 when my brother died of covid Sars. I gives me comfort to know one day we will all be with our loved ones again for eternity. Praise God

Please do NOT let your Mum read this Psalm.It is NOT about Jesus but The Lord Yahweh.It was written by David as a hymn and turned into a devotional by the theology writers of the Bible.It was written approx 1000 years BC so it has NOTHING to do with Jesus.This is where people make the error.
Yahweh was an evil being and a " God " to Israel and its people only.
Yahweh was seen and spoke to by Moses when the 10 commandments were written - so certainly NOT God as Jesus tells us nobody has seen God.
There were in fact 613 commandments not just the 10 we all know about.
They were made to control people by Yahweh - if you did not obey them then he killed you.

Psalm 23 is my favorite Bible verse 🙏. It's always been my favorite ever since I was a newborn baby 👶. My cousin David introduced me to Psalm 23 after I got baptized in church ⛪️. As I got older, I became a student in his Sunday school class. Since I loved my cousin David so much 😢, I decided to be in his Sunday school class forever. He is the one who introduced me to my favorite Bible verse 🙏 after all.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Tonight (March 10), I attended a Lent service at my sister church. From tonight through our final service on April 7, we will be reading this psalm. On a personal note, two years ago (February 20, 2017), my mother entered the Church Triumphant. At the graveside portion of the service, this was read.

The LORD is my SAVIOR, MY HEALER. I need him every day of my life. He gives me the strength to go through each day. He fills my cup each day with his love and goodness. PRAISE THE LORD FOR EVERMORE, AMEN.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Thanks be to God for His unmerited favor over my life . Glory be to God for every test and trial. His name be highly exalted forever and ever. I am poor and needy, yet the Lord looks upon me with His endless love an Mercy. Thank You Lord for making a way out of the impossible . I trust You, my faith is in You. Amen
