my dad took us out on that pay when things like that happened fishing in the snow the hurricane what happened in worthing in 1987 took us out in that we were hardcore as hell no everyone's just weak As piss
Haha! I lived on Worthing sea front (Marine Parade) during the 1987 storm. It was the constant sound of breaking glass that woke me up. Then I was aware of the sound of the storm itself and I could feel the building swaying. Then the almighty crash as three storeys of scaffolding were wrenched from the building right outside my window and hurled down onto a smaller, non-residential, adjoining building. I can honestly say I enjoyed it but bollocksed if I was going to get out of bed. I went back to sleep. I understand some people did venture out to loot the shops during the storm but then the police also came out to nick the looters.
10/10 For taking your camera out in those stormy conditions, to capture the pier taking a pounding.
It had it's rain coat on all the time, it was me who got wet !!!.
Thank you for recording this. Worthing is one of my favourite uk towns.
