I always say, when YTers share, we expound on each other's creativity. You gave me some thoughts with the paper, but I bought that shadow box a couple of weeks ago. I'm doing something special for my brother who turns 36 in a few weeks. I found his old baby shoes in an old suitcase of things my mom gave me. I have subbed you, because I love your (complex) simplicity .
+Living to DIY with Rachel Metz I'm still trying to find those exact lights you have, I have one being delivered today, but I just noticed that it plugs into the wall.
+Living to DIY with Rachel Metz ....also, I followed the link to find those particular lights, but still didn't see them. I just wanted to let you know that in case you were thinking I didn't click the link. I'll keep checking though.
On the ones that I got, there was like a miniature plug into the batter pack that was on the tip of the strip. I basically "plugged" it in via the diagram. Hopefully if you do this, your's also comes with a diagram.
The link where I bought it is down for some reason! I don't know if they sell them but here is another option maybe? www.amazon.com/Water-resistance-Waterproof-Flexible-Cuttable-Lighting/dp/B01HRMPDC8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1489617647&sr=8-5&keywords=led+strip+cuttable
Love the DIY I've seen ones online for to expensive and some other DIY boxes like this that are to hard to make, this one is perfect! I am definitely going to start this as my new project! Thanks for your inspiration!
You could use clear acetate sheets instead of cutting up sheet protectors. They are stiffer than sheet protectors and if the light box is small, the sheets could be cut to size and slip into the box (outside or inside). Just a thought.
I clicked on this video and thought it would be another complicated diy with materials that are not accessible to everyone, but I was plesently surprised by the opposite. thank you for having a Chanel I am definitely subscribing.
Thats so cool! I was looking for a way to make a custom light box or picture frame to use on my wall in the background of my videos! I made the light box and it was so affordable and not only that but you were right, being able to change the quotes is cool because it could be something new every week! Thank you for this video :)
such a great video! I actually wanted to create a light box for calligraphy and photography, I've never thought about diy heidi's light box (which absolutely awesome but kinda expensive). so I'll do both now! thank you for amazing idea
I found this a while back and finally got around to making it last weekend. I absolutely love how it turned out! The only difference is that i'm using dry erase markers to write messages and draw on the glass. Thank you so much for the simple guide
I make faux stain glass items. However over time if exposed to heat aka sunlight the paint and stainglass ribbing will peel off from the heat so this is an awesome alternative.
Last thing- sorry, if you want the lights to be even more diffused, you can add more vellum paper directly over the lights and that will help since LEDs don't get hot.
ignore the hate comments, they're either trolls or feeding for attention. Your channel is really nice and you're very pretty. New Subscriber from the Philippines. ~ ❤
Hello I would like to know which one LED light tape exactly did you buy because there is a bunch of tapes on the link you post. Please help me because I want the same one changing color and I didnt find the changing color . Thnx
I've been trying to find the link I bought them on but it legit has disappeared. A couple other subscribers have asked and found some good ones because we all can't find what I used. I'm so sorry!
I think it would if it was a more transparent sticker but I would also be aware whether it'll be tough to get that sticker off if you wanted to! I love that idea though.
I wanted one of these so badly but all of the videos seemed to hard. I like how easy this was to make and that you could make this back into a shadow box when your done with it! This would be perfect for a movie night.
I didn't even think of a movie night! That's such a good idea! And thank you for your comment - that's what I'm striving to do on my channel...make DIY's that literally ANYONE could do but also being mindful that it's not a waste once you get sick of it xx.
I saw this channel because of prod but wow did you earn a subscriber! I actually loved the idea of this box and will try this out! All love to you, and I hope your channel blossoms! Kane
I love your channel I wanted to make somewhat this kind of ideas of DIYs like not that crafty with some technology I love this 💗💗 Cuz I’m like so not artistic I love your channel 💛💛
Thank you for this information! I saw how much the photolight frames were $30 at one place. Won't be doing quotes but wanted it for photos and I think this will work. Oddly enough I have these frames already! At least two left from several packs of three I bought. Just need to get the lights and find the right paper for a photograph.
I believe it may be called Vellum....I bought some today and it's found in the scrapbooking section.....also, can u share the link to the lights you bought specifically....I wasn't able to find what your using through 5 pages of searching.....
Oh yay! Glad you found out the proper name - thank you! I wish I could provide a link but they legit vanished after I posted this. Me and a few other subscribers have been on the hunt for them and cannot find them for the life of me. I will update as soon as I do! These are the most similar I can find: www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYW0I9Z/ref=asc_df_B01MYW0I9Z5122194/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B01MYW0I9Z&linkCode=df0&hvadid=186575759958&hvpos=1o10&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18406742091406594914&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031163&hvtargid=pla-303273236158
I would suggest glueing alluminum foil (the one you use to cover food) on the back of shadow box and sides if possible, it makes everything shine more.
+pelloplasma I actually had a subscriber just send me a photo of her doing that for this DIY. She's an artist and just doodles on it, it turned out so dope.
Ahhhh.. this is soo helpfull! My 2 year-old daughter is really scared of sleeping in the dark and i dont let her leave her lights on (because of light bills) so i decided to buy her a lamp but the problem with a lamp is she wants one a rainbow color and i tried buying her a cute pink one but she just rejects it so i decided to try this amd put some little rainbow stickers and she soo happy with the lamp! Thank you for the idea btw a big fan! :)
+Ankit Mishra yeah! A lot of my dude subscribers have executed a lot of the ones available on my channel and send me photos. It's all about what you like though.
just a helpful tip: the "foggy paper" is called vellum 😊 might make it easier to find at the craft store.
I'm such an idiot 😂
I love how one of them was super inspirational and real and the other one was "Be here now."
+Anna Zierlinger thanks for watching!
I saw the thumbnail and how the box said "fart" and immediately knew I would like this channel.
Haha thank you Amber! Appreciate you subscribing!
Same
Fart made me click
It would make me click too.
me too lmao and I thought that this is a) joke b) polish channel, because FART in common polish means luck :D
Oh I had not idea! That is so cool! I put fart because my boyfriend was farting while I was filming this haha.
Living to DIY with Rachel Metz Hahaha xD
classic paul... :D just kidding
"i am so inspired by all of the different quotes"
screencap is "FART" hahahahaha
That one spoke to me the most for the thumbnail 😂
Lmao
UHM THIS IS THE BEST AND EASIEST LIGHT BOX DIY I HAVE SEEN! great job! Your diys are so creative and get better and better!!
That is so sweet to say! Thank you!!
Awesome craft project! Love the simplicity but finished feel!! Bravo.
Thank you!
I have this beautiful stained glass panel, I want to use it with a light box. Hopefully I can use this method to make it, thanks for sharing!
Can't wait to see what you make.
I need something to display some X-rays and think this will work great at that as well. Thanks!
That's a great idea!
I always say, when YTers share, we expound on each other's creativity. You gave me some thoughts with the paper, but I bought that shadow box a couple of weeks ago. That means so much to me! I love TH-cam and its community because of humans like you xx.
+DallasFiveTwo let me look at my shopping history and I'll send you the link!
+Living to DIY with Rachel Metz I really appreciate that....so kind and quick in responding.
I enjoyed your DIY on the light box. How do you attach the lights to the battery housing? Thank you.
On the ones that I got, there was like a miniature plug into the batter pack that was on the tip of the strip. I basically "plugged" it in via the diagram. Hopefully if you do this, your's also comes with a diagram.
Where did you purchase it? Can you provide a link? It wasn't part of your list of materials. Thank you.Living to DIY with Rachel Metz
The link where I bought it is down for some reason! I don't know if they sell them but here is another option maybe? www.amazon.com/Water-resistance-Waterproof-Flexible-Cuttable-Lighting/dp/B01HRMPDC8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1489617647&sr=8-5&keywords=led+strip+cuttable
I wasn't referring to the light strip, I was referring to the switch you connect the strip to in order to turn lights on/off.
That actually came with the strip of lights! I didn't have to purchase them separately. Sorry if I am no help!
Love the DIY I've seen ones online for to expensive and some other DIY boxes like this that are to hard to make, this one is perfect! I am definitely going to start this as my new project! Thanks for your inspiration!
So happy I can help inspire you - definitely would love to see it when you are finished! Thank you for watching xx.

Oh hell yeah! Thanks for the suggestion ❤️.
My pleasure! :)
where would you buy these sheets?
Craft store!
I clicked on this video and thought it would be another complicated diy with materials that are not accessible to everyone, but I was plesently surprised by the opposite. thank you for having a Chanel I am definitely subscribing.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to show some love.

Wow - that's so rad of you to say. Thanks for stopping by and showing some love xx.
such a great video! I actually wanted to create a light box for calligraphy and photography, I've never thought about diy heidi's light box (which absolutely awesome but kinda expensive). so I'll do both now! thank you for amazing idea
+Buckley Cat thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, means a lot! Glad you enjoyed.
I love it! Great job
Thank you very much!
I found this a while back and finally got around to making it last weekend. I absolutely love how it turned out! The only difference is that i'm using dry erase markers to write messages and draw on the glass. Thank you so much for the simple guide
+Ran I love that so much! Such a great idea, I'm stoked you made it 😍 thanks for watching and showing some love!
I make faux stain glass items. However over time if exposed to heat aka sunlight the paint and stainglass ribbing will peel off from the heat so this is an awesome alternative.
You can also do this with plastic letters that do not have adhesive backing, the kind you can put on windows. Then you can just add them as needed.
Also- The 'foggy paper' is called vellum.
Last thing- sorry, if you want the lights to be even more diffused, you can add more vellum paper directly over the lights and that will help since LEDs don't get hot.
+Belinda Short thanks for all the tips!
You are absolutely stunning! Great tutorial!
Well thank you!
Of course!
Did you just hit glue the battery pack to the back? Just curious if you wanted to hang this on the wall what you did with the battery pack. Thanks!!!
ignore the hate comments, they're either trolls or feeding for attention. Your channel is really nice and you're very pretty. New Subscriber from the Philippines. ~ ❤
Awe thank you! Appreciate that xx.
after you cut the LED is it possible to use the left overs for another box
you could etch a quote into the glass. I would cut contact paper into a stencil of a word or phrase and etch the glass everywhere else.
Love that idea!
That's ok, don't worry. You made a great job with the video. Thank You SO Much ! Cheers !!!! xx
I'm wondering if I just place the sticker on the frame, will it change the way it looks when lit ?
I think it would if it was a more transparent sticker but I would also be aware whether it'll be tough to get that sticker off if you wanted to! I love that idea though.
Great light box...tfs
Thank you for watching!
Ahh this is so artsy!!! Should've watched this earlier it would make such a cool Christmas present
It can be used for so many things, I love it.
I love this DIY!!
Thank you!!
this is so coool and freaking easy!
Way easy! And you can reuse the shadow box if you get bored of it.
Love it!! definitely going to try this!!
Thank you! I love that you can take it apart and reuse it if you get sick of it xx.
I wanted one of these so badly but all of the videos seemed to hard. I like how easy this was to make and that you could make this back into a shadow box when your done with it! This would be perfect for a movie night.

U made stuff so easy unlike some other videos
Thank you! That's my main goal with my channel. So anyone can DIY without having to have a billion crafty things.
Kool! 🧡 I was thinking of making this for quilting/ foundation paper piecing! Thanks.
You're so welcome!
Love this! I've see those LED lights and now I want to get them 😃
You can use them for so many projects! 🤓
what's the music in the background loved it
It's called "simple" in iMovie!
I saw this channel because of prod but wow did you earn a subscriber! I actually loved the idea of this box and will try this out! All love to you, and I hope your channel blossoms!
Kane
Thank you Kane - means so much to me to have your support xx.

Thank you!
The for the LED lights don't show me the ones from the video? Anyone help with that please? Great video as well
So clever and so easy to make! I love it, and totally want to make it for my desk :)
+Bethany Joy so hyped you watched! Thank you for commenting xx.
I was thinking maybe putting a couple of Polaroid pictures behind the glass in the shadow box and then decorate the top of the glass ?
That is such an awesome idea! Can't wait to see it.
This is super neat. Might have to make me one. Great. You are a pretty awesome girl. Keep it up! 👌
+Tentative Dan thank you! ❤😘
Very cool!
Thanks, I had fun making it xx.
I love your channel
I wanted to make somewhat this kind of ideas of DIYs like not that crafty with some technology
I love this 💗💗
Cuz I’m like so not artistic I love your channel 💛💛
Ah thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Where are those gold mirrored hexagon type things from? The ones on the right of your desk?
I got them from Home Goods!
its not shadow box...... its....TRACING BOX!!!!!
for artist.
🤓 it is whatever your creative heart wants to use it for! Love the tracing box idea.
Cenia Candra I'm considering doing this for that reason
Cenia Candra ....I bought a shadow box....didn't see a "tracing box" in the art section at Michaels....
Ruth Drews you look like my teacher...
Cute idea!
Thank you xx.
I like your nails and your hair. Nice light box.
Thankyou for sharing!! I want try this one, can I know the bgm you use for this video? thankyou
It was a preset one called "simple" in iMovie!
Thank you 😊
You made a mini marquee! how fun :) Thanks for sharing. I will definitely make something like this soon 😊
Thanks for watching 😊 glad you liked it!
omg you're so creative♡
Thank you!
So coolest!
Thanks!
whats the name of the lights you got from amazon? and are they a complete set? or do you need to order power boxes? need all info please
Just search "cuttable LED strip" and it should pop up!
I lovd this!
Thank you Natasha!
i will definitely try this. thank you for sharing 😙
Hell yeah! Can't wait to see.
I love it!
Thank you!

I don't know how I end it up here but i LOVE IT!! You r so cute :D
+Fabio Pauluk haha thank you so much!
Great DIY Idea
Thank you!
You gave me an idea to make my own light box for manual animation :))
That's so dope! Glad this inspired that xx.
Traditional
Just wondering, but what length LED light tape did you buy?
And the part that you cut off, can you still use it?
It was 2ft and yes, when I cut it I can still use it because they included two battery packs and "plugs" for the LED's
Thank you!
Wait so where do those sticky lights come from? Like any craft store or hardware?
I ordered them offline and can't find the link now. They're just battery operated LED's
I would suggest glueing alluminum foil (the one you use to cover food) on the back of shadow box and sides if possible, it makes everything shine more.
Thank you so much for this tip!
Instead of using the letters you can use a whiteboard markers and write what you want on the glass and just wipe it when you want to write smt else
+pelloplasma I actually had a subscriber just send me a photo of her doing that for this DIY. She's an artist and just doodles on it, it turned out so dope.
In the last shot of the light box.... how did you get the letters to stick?
They were stickers?
Such a cool idea! I didnt know I wanted one until I saw your video lol
Ah I hope my channel continues to do that for you! Thank you for your support xx.
Thanks for sharing this DIY.
Of course 💋.
Just so you know that your teeth are absolutely unique and i love them❤️🥺. And you look really pretty!!! 😍😍
That's really sweet! Thank you!
Living to DIY with Rachel Metz and also i really like your content keep up the great work:)) 😊
Where do you get that battery/remote for the lights? Please answer :)
I've linked it before in the comments but it isn't sold anymore. I legit looked up on Amazon cuttable LED strip.
A unique DIY. Got what I wanted to make :)
Yay! Thank you xx.
Hi Rachel. Clever idea! I must do this for my grandson. U have my subscribe.
Thank you!
Ahhhh.. this is soo helpfull! :)

She's classy and funny and a daredevil to have used that word. Subscribed!
+RAJsWork thank you 😊
Wow this amazing
Thank you!
Where did you buy these stickers? I've been looking for those for such a long time!
Sabrina Richer there at the dollar tree😂 and probably at a lot of craft stores in stickers isles
I got mine from Office Depot so I know they would stick!
I definitely don't trust the dollar tree ones if you're looking for something that lasts.
Thanks a lot! :)
Of course! xx
do you make videos on the things that matters to men also?
+Ankit Mishra yeah! A lot of my dude subscribers have executed a lot of the ones available on my channel and send me photos. It's all about what you like though.
nice. I already subed you. Can you just check my channel too and tell me what do you think about it?
Of course! Have a good day xx.
thank you!
Can you make a DIY product box?
Could you clarify what that is exactly?
Nice vid. What's the music?
Credit is given to artist in the description. I don't remember the name of the song but it's by Broke for Free
What an awesome desktop idea.
but what happens when the led lights run outta battery?? is there like a charger or do we have to change them or doe we have t buy new strips?
+Jay Turay so there is a battery pack in the ones I have! So you just have to replace the dead batteries. Super easy.
Can I get those lights tape from Amazon?
+César Castillo (whoiscaesar) yes, there is another subscriber who found the exact ones. It is one of the more recent comments.
So easy!! Awesome diy!! Thanks!
+Ninette fernandez thanks for watching!
Good Job👍
If i ever make one, my first quote would be - "Light up your Life" 😄
Love it - thanks for stopping by!
How long will this go with fresh batteries?
Mine is still going strong!
I want to run it for 6-8 hrs a day in my hair salon. Do you think it would it go a week?
Oh you should get plug in LED lights then! You won't have to worry - search around on Amazon. That's what I did until I found ones that worked for me.
Congrats making it to upcoming creators. You were featured on trending
Thank you! It's unreal and makes me want to work even harder!
i can't stop watching this video, good diy, but you're soooooo beautifull...
Awe thank you!
can i use like a differrent kind of box?
Yeah! Any that works for you.
